Good Shepherd Sunday:
The Fourth Sunday of
Easter is traditionally referred to as Good Shepherd Sunday. Hearing the
Shepherd’s voice, followers recognize and know
that it is their God. Safe in
the knowledge that they cannot be taken from the
hand of the Shepherd, those who hear his voice follow as faithful believers willing to go where God calls
and sends them. When all the clamor of false voices
and seductive distractions threaten to overwhelm, we
have only to listen carefully to be led to do the work
of the Father.
Today’s Gospel Reading:
My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never
perish. No one can take them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all,
and no one can take them out of the Father’s
hand. The Father and I are one.” John 10:27-30
THANK YOU: We would like to say “Thank You”
to all those that support the efforts of
Hispanic Ministry here in our parish.
Because of all the hard work of Hispanic Ministry and the loving support
of parishioners, Hispanic Ministry
has been able to purchase St. Francis
of Assisi a new commercial refrigerator for the kitchen downstairs. One of the old refrigerators was no longer working and was not repairable,
one will be sold at the Annual Yard Sale, and one will
still be used downstairs as a back-up.
I would like to remind everyone that all Ministry
Fundraising efforts here at St. Francis of Assisi are
100% church oriented. Some monies are donated directly back to the parish to help with the General Operating Fund, some monies are held by the ministries
for use of church needs, upgrades, or ministry projects, and some of the monies are used directly by
those ministries to attend different events hosted by
the Diocese so church funds don’t have to be used.
Just remember; that all Church Ministries are open to
everyone and are always in need of help. Also, if you
have a question about a ministry or something currently going on within that ministry, please feel free
to ask the head of that ministry or someone within the
ministry. Once again, "Thank You" for your gracious
support of all of St. Francis of Assisi's Ministries and
of our parish.
Many hands make light work—
The slack hand impoverishes, but the busy hand
brings riches.

Debido a
enriquece.
