Summer Reading Materials are now available!
Important Upcoming Senior Dates
This week in reading classes, 6 and 7 grade students will
receive their summer reading assignments. All of the materials
that they will need for this assignment will also be available on
the Southeast website. In addition, we are excited to announce
that almost all of the book choices will be available for
purchase May 12-16th at our final Scholastic Book Fair.
We are excited to announce the official dates of a very important
event that is integral to the culture of YES Prep: 2014

Scholastic Book Fair!
The library will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair the week of
May 12th- 16th. Come support the library and purchase books
from your child’s summer reading list! The summer is a crucial
time for maintaining all the skills your child has gained
throughout the year. According to the Journal of Education for
Students Placed at Risk, “regardless of ethnicity,
socioeconomic level, or previous achievement, children who
read four or more books over the summer fare better on
reading-comprehension tests in the fall than their peers who
read one or no books over the summer.” Ensure your child’s
success in the fall. Come to the book fair and beat the

Save the Date!
Save the date, our High School Athletic Awards Ceremony will be
held on Tuesday, May 20th at 6:00pm in The Gym. Join your
teammates and coaches for an evening of celebration as we
honor all of your accomplishments from this year.
Spring Parent Potluck
The Class of 2014 is College Bound! Please join the College
Initiatives Team and 12th Grade Team as we discuss your student’s
transition to college. Bring your favorite dish to share. Two prom

Disponibles
Esta semana en la clase de lectura, los estudiantes del grado 6
y 7 obtendrán su asignación de lectura para el verano. La
información sobre todos los materiales que ellos necesitaran
también estará disponible en nuestra página web. Además,
estamos muy contentos de anunciar que casi todos los libros
que necesiten estarán disponibles para comprar durante Mayo
12-16 en nuestra última feria de libros Scholastic.

La librería estará patrocinando una feria de libros la semana de
Mayo 12-16. Venga a apoyar la librería y para comprar los
libros en la lista de lectura para el verano de sus hijos! El
verano es un tiempo crucial para mantener las habilidades que
han obtenido a través del año. Según el Journal of Education

logros en este año.
Potluck de Primavera de Padres
La Clase de 2014 está por irse a la universidad! Por favor
únanse con el equipo de Iniciativas Colegiales y el equipo del
grado 12 para hablar sobre la transición a la universidad de su
hijo. Traigan su comida favorita para compartir. Dos boletos
para ir a prom serán sorteados para los que atiendan! Martes,
