Texto 2. Curriculum Galería Enrique Guerrero se complace en presentar su más reciente exposición titulada Naked Table. En ella se presentarán alrededor de 13 piezas realizas en óleo sobre tela de distintos formatos. Cualquier cosa puede ser colocada sobre la mesa. Pudiera ser el desayuno, un teléfono móvil o una conversación. Con eso en mente, la artista Yui Kugimiya (1981) dibuja libremente, pero dentro de un marco, tratando de no poner nada sobre la mesa. Pensando que no hay nada sobre la mesa o, inclusive, que no existe “nada” fuera de ella. ésta se queda desnuda. Las líneas son trazadas con lápices de colores de forma ligera e intuitiva. Éstas recorren libremente el espacio mientras que los círculos cierran el camino donde las líneas iniciaron su recorrido. Los colores rellenan las líneas trazadas convirtiéndolas en figuras, figuras autocontenidas, y colores que se unen entre ellos, creando relaciones espaciales. Más allá de las figuras, las líneas y los colores, la superficie se mantiene sin pintar exponiendo el espacio vacío. Yui Kugimiya (1981, Tokio). ha realizado estudios de arte en la Universidad de Yale y en el Massachussets College of Art en Boston. Ha participado en múltiples exposiciones individuales y colectivas alrededor del mundo, especialmente en México, Nueva York y Japón. Su trabajo ha mostrado una evolución con el paso de los años, partiendo de la realización de animaciones en stop motion hechas con sus propias telas, a la pintura abstracta.
