GARAGE SALE! The High School 1FAITH Team is having a
garage sale to raise funds for the retreat they are giving
later this Summer. The Garage sale is June 28th in the ICC
Gym. Please bring your clean, sellable items to the gym
beginning at 5pm on Friday the 27th until 10pm that night.
The sale begins on Sat, June 28th at
8am and ends at 4pm. Clean out the
garage, the closets and under your

Attention all MS Youth! On June 22nd, MS Teens are invited
to come hang out at the KC Loft (1700 Riney Road) after the
Life Teen Mass. Bring $4 for pizza. We'll play pool, foosball, air
hockey, ping pong, and video games. Bring your friends!! Sign

Attention all MS Youth! On June 24th MS Teens are invited to
come spend a day at NRH2O Water Park in North Richland Hills.
Have fun in the sun and experience lots of thrilling water rides. An
all-day pass, lunch, and unlimited drinks are included in the cost.

Ministries
A few spaces remain open for the High School 1FAITH retreat
on July 23-27. It is at the Lone Oak Retreat Center in
Gainesville. (1FAITH replaces the former Teen ACTS
retreat). A $100 deposit is due at sign-up with the balance of
$85 due by July 1st. The retreat is open to all HS Teens who
have completed at least one year of high School. Please
contact Susan in the parish office to get registered. Hurry!

Healing Prayer after Mass.
After the 4:00pm Mass on the 2nd Saturday and the 8:00am Mass
on the 4th Sunday of each month, a prayer team will be available in
the Chapel. This prayer team is available to pray with you for any
emotional, spiritual or physical healing need that you may have. All
with a need for prayer for either themselves, another family
member or a friend are welcome. The next scheduled prayer times
will be after the 4:00pm Mass on Saturday, June 14th and the
8:00am Mass on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Come and experience the
love and healing power of Jesus Christ.
DCYC! The Diocese has made the decision to make this event a
HIGH SCHOOL ONLY EVENT. Ben and Susan are so sorry to have to
let the Middle Schoolers know that they cannot attend after all, but
we do have some big plans for you coming soon! Watch the bulletin.
Incoming Freshman of the 2014-15 school year to the Graduating
Seniors of 2014, you all are invited to attend the Diocesan Catholic
Youth Conference. It's July 11-13 at the DFW Hyatt and the cost is
$140. This includes all meals except Friday evening. Attend this
awesome conference with thousands of teens from our Diocese.
Hear dynamic speakers, attend great workshops and learn more
about how to live your Catholic faith in everyday life. We'll spend
Friday afternoon at Grapevine Mills Mall for shopping and dinner
before heading to the DFW airport so bring extra money!

On June 29 after the 4:00pm Mass we will have a
potluck to honor Mary Garcia and the 39 years of
service she has given Immaculate Conception as well as
Mary Wolfle and the 30 years of service she has given
the Ft. Worth Diocese (13 of those years with
Immaculate Conception). Please gather your families
and a covered dish and join us for a potluck dinner to
wish Mary farewell and many blessings. If your last
name begins with letter "A" through letter "E" please
bring a main dish, letter "F" through "J" please bring
a side dish, letter "K" through "P" bring a salad,

PART-TIME BOYS COACH-Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Denton is seeking a parttime coach for its grades 6-8 athletic program beginning August 1.
Job responsibilities would include coaching boys' basketball and
track as well as conduct physical education classes for boys in
grades 6-8 as well as coaching and assisting during games and other

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a vital part of
our parish's mission to share the Good News of Jesus Christ
and His Church with others. RCIA is an ongoing process of
deepening conversion and preparation for the Sacraments of
Initiation. Currently, we have a year round RCIA meeting,
which allows people to be able to start at any time to respond
to the Holy Spirit moving in their life to inquire about the
Catholic Church. This is an exciting time in anyone's faith life...

The following is a reflection from Mary Garcia, our
retiring Business Manager, on just a few of the
wonderful memories of her 39 years at Immaculate
Conception.
1995-2004 Leaving behind and moving forward Part III of
IV
After giving birth to St. Mark parish, Immaculate Conception
continued to grow and soon numbered 1500 families. Father Karl
Schilken appointed a group of parishioners to look at future
planning and possible direction for the parish. Our next pastor,
Father Juan Rivero, continued working with the group as did
Msgr. Charles King when he came to ICC as pastor.
We began surveying the parish to determine our direction. A plan
began to emerge for the parish and school to join forces and
move to a new, larger site together in order to share the cost.
The church and school building committees, and later, the
transition committee began to work virtuously to find a new
home. When 22 acres on North Bonnie Brae Street became
available, and part was donated, plans moved forward quickly.
Over the next 5 years construction began by initially building the
school and occupying it. This was followed by the construction of
the parish offices and moving into them and finally, building and
dedicating our beautiful new church. In the meantime, the priests
moved into a new rectory closer to the campus on Bonnie Brae
Street. At the same time, we were demolishing the old rectory,
the St. Vincent De Paul House, and the garages on Elm Street
and selling the Bolivar Street house. What a whirlwind of new
activity!
During this time we commuted between Elm Street and Bonnie
Brae Street for meetings, masses and formation classes. Msgr
King was the gentle force that led our building committee. With
the Faith and talents the building committee members brought to
the table we were able to create a holy space that reflects the
vision of a place of healing and comfort, prayer and hospitality.
The result is a bringing of the old and the new together; bringing
the cultures of people and the cultures of the land together.
My favorite memory occurred after the final “closing of the
church” service on Elm Street on December 26, 2003. After the
service, our parishioners processed in trucks, trailers and other
vehicles carrying all our sacred articles from the “old” church
down Highway 380 towards Bonnie Brae Street. What an
amazing sight and witness to our Catholic Faith to the people of
Denton. The 4th Degree Knights of Columbus served as our
honor guard and transported our crucifix and statues in the
trailers, standing guard over them as we processed. It was a sad,
and yet, an exciting event in the life of our parish. My memory of
what was published the following morning in the local paper was
a photograph of Gene Hartman on the front page in his 4th
Degree dress and sword. He was standing on one of the trailers
protecting our large statue of the Blessed Mother in the
procession to the Bonnie Brae site. I still have that image etched
clearly in my mind. It was the beginning of a new journey for our
parish.

Después de dar a luz a la parroquia de San Marcos, Inmaculada

THANK YOU to everyone who supported Immaculate
Conception Catholic School with their time, talent, and
treasure to make the 2013-2014 school year so wonderful!
There are so very many people to thank who gave
tirelessly of their time, talent, and treasure so that Our
Lady’s School can continue to successfully form our parish
children over the past ten months and in all the prior
years. Thank you to Father Tim, Father Khoi, Deacon Popo,
Deacon Barry, the parish and school staff members for
their total commitment to the children. We are thankful to
our ICCS School Advisory Council, the ICCS Home and
School Association for their guiding hands in working
toward a brighter future. We are grateful to the families of
Our Lady’s School who sacrifice so much so that their
children can receive a Catholic education. We are grateful
to our parishes of Immaculate Conception and St. Mark for
the love they show to this wonderful parish ministry where
formation in our Catholic faith and academic excellence is
constantly affirmed so we can reach our ultimate goal of
heaven. Thanks to your ongoing love and support, we hope
to keep Catholic education at Our Lady’s School
accessible, affordable, and available to all families who desire a
Catholic education for their children. We are blessed! School starts
August 15. Have a blessed summer and see you soon!

Gracias a todos los que apoyaron a la Escuela Católica de la
Inmaculada Concepción con su tiempo, talento y tesoro
para hacer que el año escolar 2013-2014 fuera
maravilloso! Hay mucha gente a quien agradecer para que
pueda seguir la escuela de nuestra Señora formando con
éxito a nuestros niños de la parroquia en los últimos diez

In today’s second reading Saint Paul’s ﬁnal appeal is a call for
unity. God created that unity. Good stewards who share
Christ’s life in the Eucharist belong to each other, just as God
in the three persons of Father, Son and Holy Spirit enjoy unity.
We are an in#mate part of God’s divine bond, God’s “family.”
Saint Paul maintains that we ought to act that way. In the
Church there is a bond of family, yet plenty of room for
variety. Chris#an stewards use their uniquely varied gi)s to
live a Trinitarian faith, in unity, promo#ng Christ’s peace and
jus#ce. How do we promote unity in our parish?
En la segunda lectura de hoy, el llamado ﬁnal de San Pablo es un
llamado a la unidad. Dios creó esa unidad. Los buenos corresponsables,

La Escuela de ICC está buscando a un entrenador a tiempo parcial
para grados 6-8 en el programa atlético a partir del 1 de agosto.
Esta persona debe ser ante todo un modelo para los estudiantes y
bien firme en la Fe Católica. Responsabilidades de trabajo que
incluyen entrenamiento de basketball y Track así como realizar
clases de educación física para los niños de los grados 6-8. El
trabajo incluye entrenamiento y asistencia durante los juegos y

Hay unos cuantos espacios disponibles para el Retiro de la
escuela secundaria 1FAITH el 23 al 27 de julio. Es en el
centro de retiros Lone Oak en Gainesville. (1FAITH
reemplaza el retiro Teen ACTS ). Un depósito de $100 es
necesario para registrarse y el balance de $85 pagado
para el 1 de julio. El retiro está abierto a todos los
adolescentes HS que hayan completado al menos un año
