Dear Parents and Guardians:
Here is some information about the eighth grade Boston trip.
First, the Itinerary is enclosed with this letter. Please note that students should be at Cloonan at 6:30 a.m. on
Thursday, May 28th prepared for departure. Although the itinerary estimates our return around 8:30 p.m.
Friday night, past experience has been that we do not stop for dinner but arrive back home around 5:30 – 6:00
p.m. on May 29th. We will ask students to start calling you when we get into the Hartford – New Haven
area on our return so you can be waiting at school.
There are two meals included, Thursday Dinner and Friday breakfast. Students should bring enough money to
buy lunch on Thursday and Friday. They should also bring enough money for incidentals, souvenirs, etc.
There will be ten chaperones on the trip including Mr. Tate and Mrs. Bonessi. Teachers will assign students into
groups with a chaperone. However, for the majority of the trip the entire group will be together. At the hotel
students have been placed in rooms of three and four, based on the requests they made for roommates and the
available spaces. We will also inform them of the Chaperones room numbers in case anyone needs us during the
night. Additional security has been hired for the overnight. The hotel’s phone number is on the itinerary in case
of emergency.
Please see attached list for suggested clothing to bring. Please note that we cannot take responsibility for
anyone’s personal electronic items. Therefore we strongly suggest that students not bring iPads, laptops or any
other equipment that needs storage. Mobile phones and music devices are permitted, but again these are
the personal responsibility of the owner.
Finally, please complete the enclosed permission slip / medical release with your contact information,
emergency contacts, and any medical concerns about your child of which we should be aware. All medication
required by your child must be given to Cloonan staff members attending this trip before departure on May 28th.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in this wonderful educational experience.

Estimados Padres y Guardianes:
