Fourth Sunday Of Advent
St. Paul the Apostle Christmas
and End of Year Letter
As we approach another Advent season and the glory of Christmas, I
take time for reflection on this past year which has gone too, too quickly!
You, my Sisters and Brothers, the lifeblood of our parish, have brought to
life Matthew’s words from Mt. 17:20, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith
as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from
here to there,’ and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for you.” Through your efforts Founder’s Hall
became a reality! And that, as monumental an accomplishment as it was,
was not all! Many other critical and safety-related parish maintenance needs
were addressed thru parishioners’ gifts of Time and Talent, as well as
Treasure. The fire suppression system, mandatory in the older part of the
church which includes the ECP areas, SVDP, the Youth Room, Beck and
Founders Halls will become a reality due to the Out Of This World Festival
YOU made possible!! Thank You!
Our next challenge and critical point is addressing our building loan. I know
this sounds like never ending, especially in the short aftermath of the
“mountain” we just moved thru the festival results. Donations pledged in the
previous two Capital Campaigns are dwindling, covering barely half of our
monthly note, and we are still left with a $4+ million debt obligation. Me, you,
us, have to join as the spiritual family that we are, and transform that mustard
seed into another miracle of Faith. As we move into the end of the year with
end-of-year donations, and in planning for your giving next year, I ask that
you prayerfully consider this need.
Following is information and schedules as we move into end of the Christmas
and end-of-the year activities.
End of Year Giving – As 2014
comes to a close, and you consider your
personal finances please consider an
End of Year/Christmas gift to our parish.
Those that are 70 ½ or more, under the
extended charitable IRA Legislation of
2013, may make charitable gifts to St.
Paul using funds from individual
retirement accounts (IRAs) without
undesirable tax impacts. The following
link on the Galveston-Houston
Archdiocese website provides
information regarding this and other
types of charitable donations.
http://www.gftpln.org/Article.do?orgld=1147
&articleID=18678 If you have questions or
need the appropriate forms, you may
contact Michelle Muñoz at the
archdiocese directly (713.652.8242) or
Maria Conner in St. Paul’s Business
Office. All gifts, whether stocks, from IRA
funds or cash, must be received no later
than December 29, 2014 in order to be
eligible for 2014 tax deductions.
FaithDirect – if you
have not yet signed up for
online giving I urge you
again to please consider
doing so. Our parish now
has a year of success using
this service with nothing but
positive results for
parishioners and efficiency
of parish administration.

impuestos. El siguiente enlace en el sitio web
de la Arquidiócesis de Galveston-Houston
ofrece información acerca de este y otros
tipos de donaciones caritativas.
http://www.gftpln.org/Article.do?orgld=1147&articleI

The Seventh Commandment:
The Church and Social Justice
To keep this Commandment, we need to acquire the virtues of
moderation in our possessions, justice in our treatment of
others, respect for their human dignity, and solidarity with all
peoples. Find out more by attending our next adult catechism

¡De parte del Padre
Wencil, diáconos, y los
empleados, Feliz Navidad
y un Próspero Año
Nuevo!
divinidad.”
