JIM WEHNER RECTOR OF NOTRE DAME SEMINARY “MISSIONARY CATHOLICS IN A SECULAR CULTURE” Monday, March 24, 7:00 pm Being Catholic Today: Why Faith is Essential Tuesday, March 25, 7:00 pm Catholic Identity: What is My Vocation? Wednesday, March 26, 7:00 pm The Eucharist: The Triumph of God and Man Fr. Wehner will offer reflections about the need to create and sustain a culture of faith within the individual believer, in family life, the local community, and the parish. Often faith is seen as so personal to human development that faith is not necessary. Why do people stop practicing their faith or leave the Church for other faith traditions? How can we invite Catholics back to the Church? How can our parish grow in faith? The Stewardship of Prayer We Pray, Seeking God’s Will and Direction Next week, you will receive a brochure regarding the upcoming Stewardship of Prayer phase of our Total Stewardship program. We encourage you to begin thinking about the importance of prayer in your personal life, in support of the ministries of our Church, and in ways that may bless the entire community we serve. Please be in prayer now for our coordinated effort. We pray in faith, knowing God listens, inviting His blessing and the exercise of His will, “on earth as in heaven.” “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.” The familiar opening words of the Our Father teach us something of God’s character and his purposes. Though we wouldn’t question the prevalence of his will in heaven, we wisely invoke that same certainty here, in our homes, in our parish, in our communities. As we look to the weeks ahead and our commitments in this Stewardship of Prayer, may we seek the Father’s will and his direction in our lives, working in faith, laboring in love.
