8th Grade Information and Expectations
Promotion Requirements
 Students must have a minimum average cumulative 2.0 GPA for both semesters to walk across the stage.
OUSD High School Options Process
 The district will deliver applications and booklets to Montera in the first two weeks of December.
 After receiving the applications and booklets, Ms. Saephan will make presentations in 8th grade English
classes. Students will receive their Options booklet and personalized application at this time.
 Students will bring home their Options booklet and personalized application and discuss their choices
with their parent(s)/guardian(s).
 The completed application will be due in mid-January (exact date TBD).
Letter of Recommendation/Transcript Requests
 Make requests AT LEAST ONE MONTH in advance before the due date. Requests that are not made in a
timely manner may not be completed on time. Requests for recommendations must include:
o Completed request form with parent signature
o Completed form authorizing school to release information
o Student Brag Sheet
o Addressed Stamped Envelope for EACH request
 If there is an online process at the school you are applying to, please request a recommendation online.

 8th Grade Dinner Dance in the MUR (Saturday, June 6th)
 8th Grade Promotion Rehearsal in the MUR (Tuesday, June 9th)
 8th Grade Promotion (Wednesday, June 10th)
*To participate in 8th grade activities, students are expected to meet GPA and/or behavior requirements.

Información y Expectativas para el 8to Grado
2014 - 2015
Requisitos Para Graduarse:
 Como estudiante del 8to grado, ellos tiene que tener un promedio de 2.0 GPA o más (en todas sus clases) para
todos los semestres del año, para poder participar en la ceremonia de graduación.
El Proceso de Escoger un High School del OUSD:
 Durante las primeras dos semanas en Diciembre, Montera va recibir del distrito aplicaciones y folletos sobre las
diferentes escuelas de high school que puedan escoger.
 En cuanto la consejera de la escuela, Ms. Saephan haya recibido las aplicaciones y folletos, ella va presentar la
información a los estudiantes en sus clases de Inglés.
 Despues de la presentación, su estudiante llevara a casa la aplicacion y folletos para que pueda platicar y hacer una
decisión final.
 Aplicaciones tienen que ser entregadas a mediados de Enero (Fecha por determinarse)
Cartas de Recomendación y Transcripciones:
 Peticiones para cartas de recomendación y transcripciones tienen que ser recibidos CON UN MES MÍNIMO DE
ANTICIPACIÓN. Peticiones no recibidas con suficiente tiempo podrían NO ser completadas para las fechas
necesarias Peticiones tienen que incluir lo siguiente:
o Formulario de solicitud completada y firmada por un padre o guardián legal
o Formulario completo que autoriza a la escuela a entregar información del estudiante
o Student Brag Sheet
o Un sobre con su direccion postal anotada y con suficientes estampillas por cada escuela a la que solicitara
admisión.
 Sí la escuela a la cual estan aplicando acepta aplicaciones via internet, peticiones para cartas de recomendación y
transcripciones pueden ser enviados por email a la consejera [email protected]
