is credited with creating over 1,200 inventions. To
honor him, the month of February is designated as
Invention Month. Ms. Loveless’ fourth grade class read and wrote about inventions then came up with
some of their own creative ideas.
Dylan Barbeauld and Blake Houle came up with a
couple of inventions to help people with handicaps.
Dylan’s Robotic 2000 will help people who are blind. Blake designed a pool for handicap people with a
special ramp and an automatic scooper with remote
control that prevents anyone from drowning.
Rebekah Nunley came up with an idea to solve the
problem of those hard to open bottles and jars. It’s the Robot Bottle Opener. All you need to do is turn on the
switch and the robotic hand can magically open any jar
or bottle.
Jesus Rodriguez invented a machine that can help you
out when you get thirsty for chocolate milk. With a
push of a button you can instantly pour yourself a cup
of hot or cold chocolate milk.
A couple of the students came up with ideas to solve
the problem of hungry animals. Maria Barajas thought
up the idea of an automatic dog feeder. The handy
robot has a dog’s bowl in it and fills it with food every time your dog is hungry.
Union Gap School will begin registering students for kindergarten for the 2011‐
2012 school year April 4th, from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. Registration will be ongoing for the remainder of this school year. According to state law, a child must be 5 years of age on or before August 31, to be eligible for kindergarten. A birth certificate, proof of address and a completed certificate of immunization are required. You need to bring the following documents with you when you enroll your child:  Birth Certificate, verifying child's age  Immunization Record – please be sure your child is current with their immunizations.  2 pieces of Proof of Residence (mortgage/rental agreement and current light bill, cable bill or land line telephone bill) If you have any questions about registration, call Union Gap School's main office at 2483966.
the zoo. The Zoo Insta Feeder is a safe way to feed
those wild animals. The trainer does not have to get in
the cage with the animals.
For those times that you would like to communicate
with an animal, Jordyn White invented the Animal
Talker Maker. If you cannot understand what’s wrong with your pet, just put a special collar on it. The collar
has a microphone on it that is attached to a computer
that translates any animal talk so that you can
understand them.
Jennifer Tran invented a robot that looks like Hello
Kitty, but it can clean, cook, help you with your
homework, and
be your friend.
Sharon Diaz came up with a similar Walking Robot,
that not only cooks, cleans, and helps you with your
homework, but it also brushes your teeth for you.
Jovanny Llepez’s Cleaning Buddy helps you with all your chores so that your room gets clean super fast.
Luis Mojica’s Robot Player can play any game with you that you want from tag to X-Box 360.
After all that playing around, you may want to rest so
Lissett Jimenez’s pillow and alrm clock all in one is what you might need. You can sleep comfortably, but
you will not be late for the bus.
