Dear Families,
This afternoon our 4th – 6th grade students
participated in a question and answer session with Nick
Sparks, director of a documentary film featured
currently in the Napa Valley Film Festival. Right Footed
features a determined young woman who despite being
born without arms, overcame incredible challenges to
become fully independent. She learned to type with her
toes, drive a car with her feet and even fly an airplane!
Right Footed is an inspirational story illustrating that
through hard work, perseverance, and determination
people can accomplish remarkable things!
Tomorrow, 11/13, CES is delighted to host the
Catalyst String Quartet. The quartet is sponsored by
Chamber Music Napa Valley. Our music students have
been preparing and learning about the quartet during
their regular music periods. We want to extend a huge
thank you to Tom Abbey and Mrs. Pedersen for
organizing this event and bringing it to our school! We
also want to congratulate Mrs. Pedersen on her recent
award of $5000 from the Napa Valley Festival del Sole
Wish List grant!
Look for the CES Holiday Wreath on display at
Castello di Amorosa’s annual Holiday Wreaths for
Charity! Thank you Miss Mary Ann our wonderful Art
Docent for creating a wreath representing CES!

November Life Skill:
Responsibility / Be Responsible
This month our life skill focuses on what
being responsible looks, sounds and feels
like at school. What does responsible
behavior look and sound like in class? What
does responsible behavior look like on the
playground, in the cafeteria or in a
restroom?
Please take this opportunity to talk with
your child about what being responsible
looks and sounds like in your family, out in
the community, or while playing with
others.
News to Know
Trimester I Report Cards will be sent
home with your child tomorrow, 11/13. Please
look for your child’s.
This year there will be a change to the
structure of our 4th-6th grade Winter and Spring
Performances. In place of 4th, 5th and 6th grade
level songs that have been a part of the evening
in the past, only students currently participating
in the band and choir this year will be
performing. The TK-3rd grade performances will
remain unchanged.
Morning DROP OFF Procedures
To ensure the safety of our students at
morning drop off, parents must:
1. Pull up as far as possible into the safe
loading zone in front of the school
2. Quickly upload your child on the
SIDEWALK side of the car
3. Merge back into traffic safely

Estimadas familias,
Esta tarde nuestros estudiantes de 4º al 6º grado
participaron en una sesión de preguntas y respuestas con Nick
Sparks, director de un documental que esta actualmente en el
Festival de Cine del Valle de Napa. Llamada Right Footed con
una joven decidida que a pesar de haber nacido sin brazos,
superó desafíos increíbles para ser plenamente
independiente. Ella aprendió a escribir con los dedos del pie,
conducir un coche con los pies e incluso volar un avión! Right
Footed es una historia inspiradora que demuestra que a
través del trabajo duro, perseverancia y determinación la
gente puede lograr cosas extraordinarias!
Mañana, 11/13, CES está encantado de presentar el
Catalyst String Quartet. El cuarteto es patrocinado por la
Cámara de Música del Valle de Napa. Nuestros estudiantes de
música se han estado preparando y aprendiendo sobre el
cuarteto durante sus clases regulares de música. Queremos
agradecer a Tom Abby y la señora Pedersen por la
organización de este evento y por traerlo a nuestra escuela!
También queremos felicitar a la señora Pedersen en su
reciente premio de $ 5000 de la concesión de Napa Valley
Festival del Sole Wish List grant!
Busque la corona de dias festivos de CES en la
exhibición Holiday Wreaths for Charity del Castello di
Amorosa! Gracias señorita Mary Ann nuestra maravillosa
maestra de Arte en la creación de una corona que representa
CES.

Noviembre Habilidad de vida:
Responsabilidad / Ser Responsible
Este mes nuestra habilidad de la vida se enfoca
en lo que significa ser responsable, como se ve y
como se siente en la escuela. ¿Cómo se ve el
comportamiento responsable en la clase?
¿Como se ve el comportamiento responsable
en el patio de recreo, en la cafetería o en el
baño?
Por favor tome esta oportunidad para hablar
con su hijo sobre lo que significa ser
responsables y como ser responsible con su
familia, en la comunidad , o mientras juega con
otros.
Noticias para saber
Las Calificasiones del primer trimestre
serán enviadas a casa con su hijo mañana,
11/13. Por favor, busque las de su hijo.
Este año habrá un cambio en los
conciertos de nuestras presentaciones de
invierno y primavera de grados 4º al 6º. En lugar
de grados 4º, 5º y 6º que han sido una parte de
la noche en el pasado, sólo los estudiantes que
actualmente participan en la banda y coro este
año se presentarán . Las actuaciones de grados
TK-3º se mantendrán sin cambios.
Procedimientos en la mañana
Para garantizar la seguridad de nuestros
estudiantes en la mañana, los padres
deben:
1. Alejarse lo más posible de la
zona de carga segura, en frente de la
escuela
2. Rápidamente bajar a su hijo por
lado de la banqueta
3. Regresar de Nuevo al tráfico
de forma segura
