The Iowa Assessment Test is being administered
Nov. 9-13 for grades 3-6. Here are some pointers to
share with your child to help them do their best:

Flu Shot Clinic @ Crestview,
Thursday, Nov. 12, 3:30–7:30 p.m.
Most major insurance plans will be
accepted. Please bring your insurance card. Flu
vaccine for uninsured is $20. No one will be turned
away for inability to pay. Sponsored by the Polk
County Health Department.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Reminder: Letters were sent home last week with
your scheduled conference time for your child’s
teacher. Please notify the office as soon as
possible if you will not be able to attend your
conference.
Calling All 2016-17 Kindergartners
Pre-registration for 2016-17
kindergartners has begun! Classes
fill up fast, as we limit class sizes in
the West Des Moines Community
Schools. Register for Crestview now
at www.wdmcs.org/district/ourschools/registration/kindergarten/.
Address Changes
Have you moved? Had a change
in phone number or email address?
Change in family status? Please make sure to
update your information (address, phone number,
email, name changes) with the District Registrar,
Joy Zuber, at 633-5101 or [email protected].
Relax: There is no way you can study for these tests,
and there is no way you will know all the answers.
Some questions will be easy and some hard — skip
over the difficult questions and go back to them if you
still have time.
Get a Good Night’s Sleep: Try to go to bed a little
earlier the evenings before the
tests so you are well-rested and
can give the tests all your
brainpower.
Eat a Good Breakfast: Food is energy.
Examples of great brain food are
strawberries, blueberries and yogurt.
Do Your Best: Read the questions and all possible
answers slowly and carefully, and always listen to the
directions given by your teacher.
Be There: Make a special effort to be in school each
day the tests are given. If you are absent you will have
to make up the tests you miss.
Book Fair At Barnes And Noble
Crestview students will perform music
and there will be storytellers from 5 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 3! Stay tuned for
more details to come! Please save the
date and plan to attend. A portion of
the sales that day (online and in the
store) will go towards purchasing books for students
and our school library. Please note that this will be
our only Book Fair! Thank you for your support!

Clínica Vacuna contra la Influenza en Crestview
¡VACUNESE!
Jueves, 12 de noviembre de
3:30–7:30 p.m.
Se aceptaran la mayoría de los seguros
médicos. Por favor traiga su tarjeta de Seguro Médico.
El costo de la vacuna para aquellos que tienen seguro
médico es $20. No se le negará la vacuna a aquellos
que no tengan la habilidad de pagar. Auspiciado por
Polk County Health Department.
Conferencias entre Padres/Maestros
Recordatorio: Las cartas fueron enviadas a la casa la
semana pasada con su día/hora para la conferencia de
su hijo(a). Si no puede asistir a la conferencia, por favor
avise a la oficina lo antes posible.

La Pre-inscripción para los niños del
kínder para el 2016-17 ya ha
comenzado. Las clases se llenan
rápido y los espacios son limitados.
Inscriba a su hijo(a) lo antes posible.

¿Se ha movido de casa? ¿Ha cambiado su
número de teléfono o correo electrónico?
Asegúrese de pasar por la oficina o

para actualizar la información de contacto.
Relájese: No hay manera que usted pueda estudiar para
todas estas pruebas, y tampoco que se sepa todas las
contestaciones. Algunas preguntas serán
fáciles y otras difíciles, deje las que son
más difíciles y luego regrese a ellas si le
queda tiempo.
Duerma bien la noche anterior: Trate de irse a la cama
más temprano de lo usual, para que esté descansado y
pueda hacer buen trabajo.
Coma un Buen Desayuno: comida es energía –ejemplos
de buenos alimentos para la mente son: fresas, arándanos,
y yogurt.
Haga Lo Mejor Que Pueda: Lea las
preguntas y las contestaciones con
cuidado y despacio, escuche
atentamente a las instrucciones
ofrecidas por la/él maestra(o).
Esté Presente: Haga un esfuerzo especial para estar en
la escuela todos los días de la prueba. Si se ausenta…va a
tener que tomar la prueba otro día.
Feria de Libros en Barnes & Noble
El 3 de diciembre los estudiantes llevaran a
cabo una presentación de música y habrá
personas leyendo historias comenzando a las 5
-7:30 p.m. Por favor reserve la fecha para que
pueda asistir. Una porción de las ventas de ese día serán
utilizadas para comprar libros para la biblioteca de la
escuela. ¡Por favor note que ésta será nuestra única
Feria de Libros este año en Crestview! ¡Gracias por su
apoyo!
Cajas de Papel Desechable
¡La temporada de resfriados ha llegado!
