Motor electrónico Sivoia QED
La línea Sivoia QED (motor electrónico silencioso)
ofrece control de precisión ultrasilencioso para
cortinas enrollables, rieles de cortinas, cortinas
de tragaluz y cortinas romanas. Este sistema
inteligente de bajo voltaje brinda un movimiento
delicado y uniforme, alineación consistente de
múltiples cortinas y rendimiento superior. Las
elegantes botoneras de pared Lutron® facilitan el
funcionamiento de las cortinas. Los sistemas
Sivoia QED se pueden integrar perfectamente a
otros controles de iluminación Lutron para un
control total de la iluminación de la habitación.
Cortinas de tragaluz
Las nuevas cortinas de tragaluz combinan la tecnología Sivoia QED
con un innovador sistema de tensión. La tela se mantiene tensada y
en paralelo al tragaluz independientemente de la pendiente. Contole

Elija la tela correcta. Las telas Lutron® se agrupan en estas tres categorías:
sheer, dim-out y blackout. Brindan una diversidad de grados de control de
la iluminación y funcionalidad.
Elija el tipo correcto de tela para cada aplicación. Considere las
siguientes necesidades en un espacio.

Estas telas se caracterizan por tener un tejido abierto para filtrar la
luz del día sin sacrificar la vista. Los tejidos sheer se miden por el
“factor de apertura,” que describe la relación del espacio abierto
con el hilo de la tela en el tejido.
Maximizar la vista
Lutron® sheer reducen el brillo y la exposición
directa a la luz solar sin perder la vista al
exterior. Están disponibles en una variedad de
factores de apertura para complementar las
distintas intensidades de la luz directa.
Dim-out
Estas telas permiten un poco de luz, pero no son tejidos abiertos,
por lo tanto la vista está limitada a siluetas y sombras.
Reducir el brillo y la acumulación de calor
Muchas telas Lutron están diseñadas para
desviar tanta radiación solar de la ventana
como sea posible a fin de minimizar la
acumulación de calor dentro del edificio.
Asimismo, el tejido correcto puede reducir
el brillo, por ende mejorar el contraste en
los monitores y pantallas.
Blackout
Estas telas evitan completamente que la luz pase a través del
material. Las telas blackout por lo general se combinan con
canales laterales especiales, tratamientos superiores y otros
componentes del sistema para asegurar un bloqueo total
de la luz.

Oscuridad
Si desea, están disponibles telas de 100%
de opacidad para aplicaciones como cines,
habitaciones o salas de conferencia. Los
sistemas Sivoia QED® también pueden

Aperturas de luz mínimas y simétricas
Los sistemas de cortinas enrollables de Sivoia QED
tienen aperturas de luz de 19 mm por cada lado.
Los límites y las posiciones
pre-determinadas nunca se pierden
Los límites y las posiciones pre-determinadas de
las cortinas se ajustan y se fijan de manera electrónica
brindando así una memoria ante falla eléctrica por
hasta 10 años. Durante este tiempo, estos límites
no se perderán independientemente del uso, la
descarga electroestática o las fallas energéticas.
Motor electrónico ultrasilencioso
El sistema de Sivoia QED® es de bajo voltaje y
funciona a un nivel casi silencioso (está clasificado
por debajo de los 44 dBA a 1 m). Las cortinas se
mueven fluidamente y se detienen en las posiciones
preconfigurables sin que se perciban ruidos.

Los controles de Lutron® están diseñados para
combinar la apariencia y la sensación de avanzada

están disponibles en una amplia gama de colores y

Intelligent hembar alignment™

preconfigurables con una precisión de 3 mm.

la barra inferior, los sistemas de cortinas roller 20™,

enrollables de distinto tamaño.

Reconfiguración simple
El sistema Sivoia QED se puede volver a configurar
con facilidad, se pueden cambiar los límites y los
ajustes se pueden volver a programar sin volver
a tender cables mediante el control remoto, la
botonera o el motor electrónico (EDU).

Lutron® offers four valance styles to cover the headrail system which come standard on all Venetian
blinds. Customers may opt to provide their own valances and should expect to receive a system with
only a headrail. Customers may also order valances separately for other shading applications or if a
different color than the Venetian blind slats is desired.
For inside mount applications, valances will be 0.25 in. less than the width ordered. For outside mount
applications, valances will also have returns which will require custom specification of size depending
on mounting location. For systems without valances, the headrail width will remain the same width as
the slats, except for inside mount applications where a 0.25 in. deduction will be taken.
Frequently Asked Questions
What systems are Venetians available in?
Venetian blinds are initially available in stand-alone Sivoia® QS and
Sivoia QS Wireless systems. If Sivoia QED® is required for compatibility with
your installed system, there is an application note that details how Sivoia QS
can interface with these systems via RS-232 to provide basic control of
Venetian blinds or other Sivoia QS shading systems. Contact Customer
Service for more details.
What is the standard lead-time?
The standard lead-time is 30 business days.
Is there a fire retardant (FR) rating on Lutron Venetian blinds?
Wooden blinds are not FR rated. However, it is possible to treat the material
at a separate vendor to achieve FR rated status. Another option would be to
utilize a non-wood material, such as aluminum or a wood substitute. Wood
substitute Venetian blinds are not standard in the Lutron line, but can be
sourced as a custom. For more information, contact Customer Service.

How thick is a single slat?
Wood slats are approximately 0.125 in. (3.17 mm) thick, while aluminum slats
are .008 in. (0.2 mm) thick.
What is stack?
Stack results when the slats of a Venetian blind amass on top of each other
when the blind is in the open position. Unlike a roller shade that maintains a
slim profile when open, stack amplifies the height at the top of a Venetian blind,
which will subsequently affect the amount of blockage at the top of
your window.

Can stack be calculated?
Yes. This parameter is reported in the Shade Configuration Tool (SCT) and only
includes the height of the slats and bottom rail – valance and headrail are not
included in this calculation. To calculate total height from the ceiling to the base
of the bottom rail, add 3.75 in. to the reported stack height.

Stack back equates to one-third the total width of

Lifting cords slip and stack as the shade rolls,
creating a noticeable noise that can be amplified

these cords with CERUS bands, these issues are

Safer

CERUS bands are light-permeable and have
been paired to each woven wood and lining
to minimize disruption of light through
the material.
Many woven woods permit views to the
exterior, but function to shade an interior

Manual open carrier
The Lutron patented spring release system is
field-adjustable to customize the force necessary
to manually open a drapery. This provides access to
the outside in the event of a power loss.
Pinch pleat is named for the
pleated look created by pinched
gatherings of fabric at the top of
the drapery. Pins on the back
of the drapery are simply looped
through the carriers on the track
when installed.
Ripplefold pleat style is named
for the soft, consistent ripples
created by the drapery as it hangs
from the track. It offers an elegant,
contemporary look.

Self-aligning splice bar
Precision engineering aligns tracks within 1/16 inch

The following details can aid in ordering and
installing The Avant Collection window treatments.
Natural materials
The following are inherent characteristics to be aware
of when ordering natural materials.
Consolidating orders
Fabric and woven wood samples aid in material
selection. However, fabric runs and woven wood
dye lots are subject to subtle variation. Paint
colors and the yarn used to weave woven woods
together may also exhibit color variation. To ensure
the best possible color match, all shades destined
for the same space should be placed on the
same order.
Woven wood Roman shades are fabricated from
genuine reeds, grasses, palm leaves, bamboo,
and woods. As a result, the final appearance of
your shade is left to nature. Discrepancies between
shades may occur, especially in wood grain, texture,
pattern, and color. Natural woven materials can have
a slight bow or camber, causing horizontal lines or
bottom hems to be skewed. Woven woods may also
exude a scent of grass, especially after being tightly
enclosed during shipping, but the scent will dissipate
with time.
Some variation may still occur within the same
order with woven woods since some of these
materials are not color processed. Bamboo may
appear green at the time of installation, but with
time, will age to a beige-brown hue.
Privacy
Please note that some materials have open weaves.
Although they may block outside views during the
day, at night they may not provide sufficient privacy.
To achieve privacy for the KirbeTM vertical drapery
system, pair with the optional roller shade feature.
For woven wood Roman shades, use a fabric lining.
Roman shades
Soft fabric Romans must be lined. Woven wood
Roman shades do not require lining.
Railroading
Railroading fabric is an option for applications
that require shades wider than the usable roll width
in order to avoid vertical seams. Railroading rotates
fabric 90 degrees from its typical orientation. Please
note: If the fabric has a distinct pattern, this pattern
will be rotated 90 degrees, thereby altering the final
appearance of the shade.

As a result, your Venetian blind will exhibit grain
textures, pin knots, mineral deposits, and burl figures,
all elements of the tree and environment it came
from, causing variations from slat to slat. Wood fibers
inherently absorb moisture as the environment
changes, which may result in slight warping
over time.

Fabric relaxation
Soft fabrics have not experienced gravity.
They have been stored on a roll until made into
a drapery or Roman shade. It is natural for fabrics
to “relax” and sometimes lengthen over time. When
measuring for drapery length, please allow proper
clearances for sills and floors. Lining drapery adds
structure and can minimize relaxation.
Woven woods are a natural – and sometimes
heavy – shading material. These materials may
relax over time as well. However, edge binding
restricts the natural stretching of woven wood
shades. This may result in a bowed center,
causing a “smile” at the bottom of the shade,
or a pucker just above the bottom batten. The
larger the shade, the more pronounced this
effect tends to be.
Custom printing
Custom printing is available for Kirbé, Roman
shades, drapery, and cornices exclusively on
Lutron Lona fabric. All files should be 70PPI or
100PPI of the final size of the image and be
accompanied with a PDF of the artwork. Once a
quotation is created in the SCT, both files will need
to be sent to the Lutron Shading Quotes team at
[email protected]. A sample proof may
be requested.
Custom printing is also available for roller
and tensioned shades. For more information,

Several woven wood selections display a distinct
horizontal pattern. Due to variations in the shade
material and weaving process, these patterns may
not match perfectly across adjacent shades.

Fabric care
Steaming Fabrics
Test fabric for color fastness in an inconspicuous
spot. Heavier fabrics may require repeated
steaming. Steaming is not recommended for
fabrics with embroidery or injected yarns
because the material may shrink and pucker
around the embroidery.
Wrinkle Remover Spray
Wrinkle remover spray is permissible on the
following fabrics: Cana, Jameson, Paddock Shawl,
Torrey Pines, and Touch. Test fabric in an
inconspicuous spot. Using wrinkle remover
spray on other fabrics can adversely affect
the appearance of the shade.
General fabric care notes
•
Acrylic is a lightweight fiber that produces
hypoallergenic and quick-drying fabrics. Acrylic
can take only low heat.
Resources
Polyester is a fiber made from coal and petroleum
products. It is resistant to creases but melts at
medium to high temperatures.
•
Rayon is a cellulose (wood) fiber and has many
of the same qualities as cotton. Rayon is strong,
extremely absorbent, comes in a variety of qualities
and weights, and can be made to resemble natural
fabrics. Rayon does not melt, but can burn at high
temperatures.
•
Silk is a protein fiber (silkworm). Press cloths
and a steam iron are recommended because
silk may yellow or fade with the use of a high iron
setting. Silk can also be weakened by direct
sunlight exposure.
•

The Avant Collection of soft fabrics, woven woods,
sheers, and linings are showcased in this fabric binder.
Soft fabrics are separated by color group, sheers and
linings to simplify the selection process. Each selection
indicates which style of window treatment can work
with each material. All samples are easily removable and

Cotton is a plant fiber with short fibers. It can
take high temperatures, which permits steaming
and ironing at a high setting. Blends of cotton and
polyester have permanent press properties and
extended wear resistance.

The newest addition to the Avant Collection has a
separate binder to aid in the selection process. The
binder contains samples for all of its slat collections,
valances, and decorative tapes. Samples are arranged
by color and finish for ease of display while sample
decks are easily removable for hands-on review.
Individual decks are also available for order.
Linen is a plant fiber (flax) with long fibers and is
2 or 3 times stronger than cotton. Due to poor
elasticity, linen fabrics do not spring back and
constant creasing in the same place can break
threads. Wrinkles may not always come out.
Both the Avant and Venetian binders, and larger material

Linen/cotton blends may use light iron, light
steam, or wrinkle-out spray.

distance equal to the headrail width + ½ in (13mm). Assure they
are level and plumb.

Venetian Blinds are operated by ultra-quiet, precision control
drives. The Venetian blind drive is housed in the headrail and
provides independent control of the lift and tilt. Lift and tilt
positions can be stored as a preset and can be recalled with
the touch of a button.
Frequently Asked Questions
What systems are compatible with Venetian blinds?
Venetian blinds are available for Sivoia® QS and Sivoia QS Wireless. For integration into
RadioRA® 2, HomeWorks® QS, and Quantum® please contact [email protected].
To integrate Venetian blinds into a HomeWorks Illumination system, please see Application
Note, available online, and contact Technical Support for details.
What is the standard lead time?
The standard lead time is 30 business days.
Do Venetians have a fire retardant (FR) rating?
Wooden blinds are not FR rated. However, it is possible to treat the material or use
a non-wood material such as aluminum or a wood substitute to achieve FR rating status.
Wood substitute Venetian blinds are not standard in the Lutron line, but can be sourced
as a custom. For more information, please contact [email protected].
What is “stack”?
Stack results when the slats of the Venetian blinds amass on top of each other
when the blind is fully open, blocking the top portion of the window. To preserve
the full outdoor view, simply mount the blind above the window frame, making
sure to account for additional system height.
This parameter is reported in the shade configuration tool (SCT) and only includes
the height of the slats and bottom rail—valance and headrail are not included in this
calculation. To calculate total height from the ceiling to the base of the bottom rail,
add 3.75 inches to the reported stack height.
