Youth Market Fridays: Every
Mercado Juvenil todos los viernes
Friday from 12pm-7pm in front of
the Cypress Hills-Fulton Street
Senior Center 3208 Fulton St.
(corner of Richmond). Each week
will feature a community chef
preparing a different recipe for
people to try, and there will be
music, games, nutrition information,
and we will give out free $2 Health Bucks to use at the
market. The market will accept cash, credit and debit
cards, EBT, WIC Checks, and WIC Farmers Checks.

for us this week? We will contact them in September
to see if they are interested in coming closer to
Christ in the sacraments of the church.

Del escritorio del pastor
My good friends,
It is with heavy hearts that we say farewell to Father
Hernan. We had been hoping that Father would be
working with us for a three year term. However, the
diocese feels that he is very much needed in Our Lady
of Sorrows in Corona. Father has been with us since
Holy Week, and in that short period of time our
parishioners have come to know and love Father
Hernan. He knows that our door is always open and
that he is always welcome home – here in Blessed
Sacrament.
This week we are honored to
welcome a newly ordained priest for
the diocese of Brooklyn. Father Jose
Henriquez has been assigned to
Blessed Sacrament for a term of five
years. I have a feeling that this is
going to be the best five years of his
life! Father Jose, your new family
warmly welcomes you to your first
assignment as a Priest.
Congratulations!
Father Rafael de la Cruz has come
to us from the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart in
Santo Domingo. Father is with us for all of July. He
has been a part of our parish for many years now. We
pray that Father’s month be blest with us.
Enjoy your summer. If you don’t, it’s not anyone
else’s fault but your own. God wants us to make the
best of this life, and find it to be a delight!

Mis Buenos amigos,
Muy triste, pero tenemos que decir ‘adiós’ al
Padre Hernán. El Padre solo empezó con nosotros en
la semana santa. Y en poco tiempo, la familia de
Blessed Sacrament ha encontrado un amigo muy
especial en este sacerdote tan excelente. Pero la
diócesis y el obispo han decidido que necesitan al
Padre Hernán aun más en la parroquia de ‘Los
Dolores’ en Corona Queens. El Padre Hernán sabe
bien que la puertas de su casa aquí en Euclid Avenue
están siempre abiertas para el!
Mañana, la congregación de Blessed
Sacrament recibirá uno de los nuevos sacerdotes –
ordenados solo hace dos semanas en nuestra
catedral de San José. El Padre José Henríquez
vivirá y servirá la parroquia por cinco años. Y yo
sé que estos cinco años serán los mejores de su
vida! Padre José, tu nueva familia te espera con
una bienvenida calorosa. Bendiciones en tu
‘primera iglesia’.
El Padre Rafael de la Cruz, misionero del
Sagrado Corazón, está con nosotros hasta el 3 de
agosto. Todo el mundo conoce bien al Padre
Rafael.
Nos ha ayudado por muchos años,
generalmente durante el verano. Estamos felices!!
Espero que todos estén disfrutando de un verano
bendecido. La iglesia enseña que Jesús desea que la
vida sea una alegría. Si este verano va a ser una
memoria excelente o triste – esa es TU decisión!

Annual Memorial Candles
Dedicate Annual Memorial Candles, as a beautiful
remembrance for your loved ones. A donation of
$125.00 will include the name of your loved one on an
individual plaque. The candle will burn for one full
year. Arrangements may be made at the Rectory or call
718 827-1200.
Cypress Hills Cemetery Food and Clothes Drive
Please drop off requested items between July 1st to
August 31st—help feed and clothe people in need.
Food Needs: non-perishables, canned foods,
boxed cereal, boxed juice
