Dear Friends,
Once again I want to thank you on behalf of the
Festival Committee. We are so grateful for the help
and support we received from you. Bible Verse:
James 1:5 says, “But if any of you lacks wisdom let
him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without
reproach; and it will be given to him”. Well we asked
of you and you responded graciously. As we made
plans this past year God answered our prayers and the
Festival was a big success. It was wonderful to see so
many of our parishioners offer their help and support.
Because of your generous donations and support we
were able to have new activities. Our thanks to Fr.
Manny and St. Francis’ Staff for all their help.
May God Bless You,
Juanita Miramontes,
Chairperson

Parking lot construction
began with a survey of the
property on Thursday,
October 6, 2016. The official date of the groundbreaking was on
October 10, 2016.
We ask for your patience as
the North side parking of Church will be limited especially for the masses that are heavily attended. Construction is expected to be completed within a month, if
weather cooperates.
Current Building Fund
Donations through the
second collection will
be used for this project,
so thank you so much
for your generous spirit,
as we all will benefit
from this in the future.
A pictorial directory is a powerful tool in our
church to help us get to know one another better. Our
last directory was in 2010 and it is time for a new one.
Photo sessions are scheduled in the parish center
classrooms on October 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, & 29 and on
November 3, 4, & 5. Signup sheets are in the Narthex
with the appointment times for dates listed.
Your participation will help the church and yourself. Every family photographed for the directory will
receive a copy of the directory and an 8x10 portrait at
no cost. You will also have the opportunity to purchase additional portraits at the time of photography.
If you are an Extraordinary Minister of Communion, Lector, or Commentator, the coordinator of each
ministry will take group pictures of each ministry at
each Mass on the days of October 29, and 30, so
please attend these masses to be in the directory.
Altar Servers group picture for all Masses will be
taken at the Altar Server training on November 7, so if
you serve, please attend.
Each organization, please take a picture of your
group at your next meeting so all groups can be included.
English, Spanish, & Children Choirs, at your next
choir practice please take a picture also.
Once your pictures are taken, please email them to
[email protected] by November 8. Thank you!
St. Francis Knights of Columbus needs you! Our mission is simply to give back to our parish community and
aid wherever we can to help those in need. Please contact Our Membership Director Victor Molina @ 214502-9179, or ask any of our Fellow brother Knights.
A Note from Fr. Manny
Dear St. Francis family
Life can be tough sometimes especially when we feel burdened with our trials,
problems and challenges. There are times
we feel hopeless and helpless when we
face some storms in life. Human as we are, we easily
give up, but not the widow in the gospel we have this
weekend.
Let us learn from her undying determination not to give
up on our supplications to God. Determination and persistence were the key elements of her quest for success.
Og Mandino says “Failure will never over take
you if your determination to succeed is strong
enough.” Believe and be persistent in praying. It is the
best way to draw strength from God. Always bear in
mind like what Suzanne Berry said “No problem is so
big that it won’t fit in God’s hands.”
God knows what is best for all of us. Just be patient and have that persistent and determined attitude
in asking him.
God bless us always!
Yours in the ministry,
Fr. Manny
Og Mandino dice "El fracaso nunca te vencerá si
Padre Manny

SAFETY FIRST FOR OUR CHILDREN: The City of Lancaster
is repaving Rogers Ave. as well as the construction of the new Parking Lot has begun. Please plan accordingly to ensure the safe and on
time arrival of our children to their classes. Parents, help ensure the
safety of your children by coming into the parish center to drop and
pick them up in their classroom. Children are to be picked up preferably by their parents or an adult designated by their parents. If they will
be pick up by an older sibling or other family member, please let your
child’s teacher know ahead of time. Also I have to remind you to pick
up your children on time after RE classes have ended. First Sunday
session starts at 8:30 am and ends at 9:30 am, Second Sunday Session
starts at 11:00 am and ends at 12:00 pm. Both Sunday Sessions end
early enough, so you have the opportunity to attend at 10 AM Mass
or 12:15 PM Mass.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SEGURIDAD PRIMERO PARA NUESTROS NIÑOS: La ciudad de Lancaster está repavimentando la avenida Rogers y al mismo
tiempo ya comenzó la construcción del nuevo estacionamiento de la
parroquia. Por favor de hacer planes para que los niños lleguen seguros y a tiempo a sus clases. Los padres deben ayudar para garantizar
la seguridad de sus hijos dejarlos y recogerlos en su salón de clases en
el edificio parroquial. Preferentemente los padres de familia deben
recoger a sus hijos o un adulto designado por ellos. Si un hermanito
mayor de los niños va a levantar a su hermano menor o algún otro
miembro de la familia que no sean los padres, favor de avisar al catequista con anticipación. También tengo que recordarles que debe
recoger a sus hijos a tiempo después de que las clases han terminado.
Primera sesión del domingo comienza a las 8:30 am y termina a las
9:30 de la mañana, Segunda Sesión del domingo comienza a las
11:00 am y termina a las 12:00 horas. Ambas sesiones dominicales
terminan temprano, para que tengan la oportunidad de asistir a la misa
a las 10 am o 12:15 pm en familia.
Volunteers Needed: Interested in Serving Your Parish? Have You
Considered Volunteering To Help in the Religious Education Program? Currently, there is a need to create a backup list of volunteers
that would like to assist while a current Catechist is absent. All volunteers working with children should have a love of their faith and practice it faithfully, must be registered members of the parish for at least
6 months, and must complete Safe Environment Training. All of the
children's classes are held in English. The first step is to complete a
screening form online. The link to the screening form is on the Diocese of Dallas website. If interested, please call 972-227-0770 for
more information.
Se necesitan voluntarios: ¿Está interesado en servir a su parroquia? ¿Usted ha considerado ser voluntario para ayudar en
el programa de educación religiosa? En la actualidad, existe
una necesidad de crear una lista de apoyo de los voluntarios
que cubran clases cuando un catequista actual esté ausente.
Todos los voluntarios que trabajan con niños deben tener un
amor de su fe y practicarla fielmente, deben ser miembros registrados de la parroquia durante al menos 6 meses, y debe
completar el entrenamiento de Ambiente Seguro. Todas las
clases de los niños se llevan a cabo en Inglés. El primer paso
es completar un formulario de evaluación en línea. El enlace al
formulario de evaluación lo pueden encontrar en el sitio web
de la Diócesis de Dallas. Si está interesado, por favor llame al
972-227-0770 para más información.
