October is the Month of the Holy Rosary
Are you praying the rosary once a day during the month of
October?
Fall Festival
I am writing this Pastor’s Column well before October 17
so I cannot really comment on the weather, but I am
nonetheless excited about this fantastic opportunity for our
community to come together and celebrate one another.
I would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who
put in countless hours in preparation for the past few
months, beginning way back in the summer. This sort of
event does not happen without LOTS of thought, LOTS of
planning and LOTS of help. There is no possible way to
thank all of the individuals or even groups and ministries.
This festival is our annual celebration of our community. It
is the time we come together to laugh, to eat, to spend time
playing games and, basically, enjoying one another’s
company. I do, however, want to thank both the Northwest
Bible Church and the Congregation Jewish North for
allowing us to use their parking lots during the day on
Saturday. They are always so very generous to us when it
comes time for our annual festival.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
I am sure that there are a good many of the ministers
who will be walking a bit slowly into work on Monday.
May the Lord our God greatly bless you for your service
and your zeal for our community.
World Mission Sunday
In 1926 Pope Pius XI instituted World Mission Sunday.
He asked for prayer, animation, celebration, and offerings
for the Missions. His concern was to engender a sense of
responsibility in people for supporting the Missions
throughout the world.
This weekend we will have a second collection after all
of the Masses, but who benefits? Your support reaches
clinics caring for the sick and dying, orphanages providing
a place of safety and shelter, schools offering education
from kindergarten through high school. It provides for
seminarians preparing for the priesthood and religious
sisters and brothers in formation programs. All of this takes
place in 1,150 mission dioceses, mostly in Africa and Asia,
where the poorest of the poor receive an education and
health care, while experiencing the loving heart of our Lord
through the service of priests, religious and lay faithful.
Thank you for your concern, your prayers and your
generosity.
Steier Group
The Steier Group has been chosen to assist us with the
financial feasibility study preparing for our capital
campaign. It was founded in 1997 in Omaha,
Nebraska. They have offices in Denver, Minneapolis,
Portland and Houston. They assist Catholic parishes,
schools, and dioceses all over the country with
planning and managing capital campaigns.

Octubre es el mes del Santo Rosario
¿Está usted rezando el Rosario una vez al día durante el mes de
octubre?
Festival de Otoño
Estoy escribiendo la columna del Pastor antes del 17 de
octubre, por lo que no puedo opinar sobre el clima, pero no
obstante, estoy entusiasmado con esta fantástica oportunidad
para nuestra comunidad para reunirse y celebrar el uno con el
otro.
Me gustaría agradecer a cada uno que puso en horas
innumerables en la preparación durante los últimos meses,
comenzando esta preparación desde el verano. Esta clase
evento no sucede sin mucha visión, mucha planificación y mucha
ayuda.
No hay manera posible de agradecer a todas las personas o
incluso grupos y ministerios. El festival es nuestra celebración
anual de nuestra comunidad. Es el momento en que se reúnen
para reír, para comer, para pasar tiempo jugando y básicamente,
disfrutando de uno de otro. Sin embargo, quiero dar las gracias a
Northwest Biblie Church y la congregación Judía del Norte por
permitirnos usar sus estacionamientos durante el sábado.
Siempre son muy generosos con nosotros cuando llega la hora
de nuestro festival anual.

Jornada Mundial de las misiones
En 1926 el Papa Pío XI instituyó el Domingo Mundial de las
Misiones. Pidió oración, animación, fiesta, y ofrendas para las
Misiones. Su preocupación era la de generar un sentido de
responsabilidad en las personas para apoyar las misiones en
todo el mundo.
Este fin de semana tendremos una segunda colecta después
de todas las misas, pero ¿quién se beneficia? Su apoyo llega a
clínicas de cuidado de los enfermos y moribundos, orfanatos
proporcionando un lugar de seguridad y refugio, las escuelas que
ofrecen educación desde preescolar hasta secundaria. Apoya a
seminaristas preparándose para el sacerdocio, religiosas y
hermanos en los programas de formación. Todo esto ocurre en
1,150 diócesis de misión, sobre todo en África y Asia, donde los
más pobres entre los pobres reciben una educación y salud,
mientras se experimenta el corazón amoroso de nuestro Señor a
través del servicio de sacerdotes, religiosos y laicos fieles.

Steier Group ha sido elegido para ayudarnos en el estudio de
factibilidad financiera en preparación de nuestra campaña

Pilgrimage to the Holy Land November 4-15, 2016
Fr. James Burkart and Fr. Norbert Maduzia, Jr. will lead a
pilgrimage with pilgrims from Christ the Good Shepherd
and St. Ignatius of Loyola.
Proposed sites include, in Israel-Peter’s Primacy; Capernaum, the
Mount of the Beatitudes, Nazareth Grotto of the Annunciation, Cana,
Mount Carmel, Caesarea Philippi, Mount Tabor, the Church of the
Nativity of Jesus, the Mount of Olives, the church of the Holy
Sepulcher of Jesus and More. Sites in Jordan include Old Jerash,
Amman, Madaba, Kerak and Petra.

mail, the last group of surveys was mailed this
past Friday. Please take a few minutes to read
over the information before completing and
returning the survey. The deadline to return your
completed survey is October 26. You may return
it to the office or place it in the offertory basket at
any of the masses.

Admissions Open House. Faculty, staff, and students
