Each question is worth the point value listed. As you get to the higher points the questions get harder. You only need to 100 points worth. For example, you could do 4 knowledge for 20 points, 2 application for 30 points, and 2 synthesis for 50 points. Knowledge (5 points each) 1.) Define 15 items Spanish characteristics. 2.) List the definite articles and their meanings. 3.) List the indefinite articles. 4.) Define the following grammar terms: pronoun, verb, noun, adjective, definite article, and indefinite article. Comprehension (10 points each) 1.) What is the difference between “me gusta” “te gusta” and “le gusta”? 2.) How do I change adjectives to make them masculine or feminine? 3.) Write the formula for word order and adjective placement. This is found in your textbook. 4.) List the 4 subject pronouns and the 3 verbs that go with them that are found in this chapter. Application (15 points each) 1.) ¿Cómo eres tú? (Write at least 10 characteristics.) 2.) ¿Cómo es tu amigo? (Write at least 10 characteristics) 3.) ¿Qué te gusta hacer más y por qué? 4.) ¿Qué le gusta hacer a tu amigo y por qué? Analysis (20 points each) 1.) Compare the way we use adjectives in English and Spanish. Include information on adjective agreement and on adjective placement. 2.) What is different about English and Spanish grammar rules regarding the use of definite and indefinite articles? 3.) Correct the following sentence and explain what is wrong with it and why. “Él soy una hombre desordenada.” 4.) Why do I not have to place the pronoun in front of the verb in Spanish sentences? How is this different from English? Give specific examples. Sythesis (25 points each) 1.) Create a “poema en diamante” about yourself. See page 59 in the textbook. 2.) Bring in a picture of yourself and at least 3 other people. Write a fake dialogue in which each person is asked and answers the questions “¿Cómo eres tú?” and “¿Qué te gusta hacer? This should be at least 8 sentences. Evaluation (30 points) 1.) Evaluate me as a teacher. Describe me in Spanish, and say what you like to do in class. Also tell me what you don’t like to do in class. Also explain which of your personal characterists make you either a good or bad Spanish student. Describe a really good student in addition to yourself as well. Write at least 10 sentences. a. Example: Me gusta Sra. Harris, porque ella es trabajadora. Yo soy trabajador también.
