Parish Prayer
Loving Father,
We, the living stones of
St. Anne Church, warmly
welcome all God’s children
into our community.
We are committed to
following Christ’s example
by using our time, talent
and resources in reaching
out to the poor, feeding
the hungry and creating a
legacy of faith and hope for
future generations.
Together, as a parish family,
we hope to continue
growing in God’s
Grace and Love.
We ask this through
Christ Our Lord, Amen.
Saint Anne, Mother of
Blessed Virgin Mary,
Pray for us.
From the Pastor
T
hursday through Sunday, March 811, the Parish of Saint Anne is
having its first Spring Fling.
If you have been worshipping at
St. Anne for even just a few years, you
are familiar with two of the Parish’s
major annual events, the Parish Picnic
and the Fall Festival. Both of these
events take months of preparation by
countless volunteers. As the Parish
has grown, the work and expense it
takes to put on both of these events
have also increased. With the advice
of the Parish Finance Council, the past
Parish Council and the Stewardship
Committee, it was decided to combine
the community-building efforts of the
Parish Picnic with the fundraising
efforts of the Fall Festival. As a result,
last November what would have been
the Fall Festival was simply the Fall
Carnival, with very little Parish
involvement in the events and, under
the direction of Kevin Hagan and
George Schmitt (and with the support
of their wives), the Spring Fling was
initiated. At all Masses this week-end,
George and Kevin will explain what it
is.
The Parish Picnic portion of the Spring
Fling will consist of complimentary
breakfast after all Masses on Sunday,
March 11, under the tent. Mrs. Cissy
Barr is heading up this effort. Please
come out and support this new
community event that we are hoping
will not only grow the Parish family but
also be a good fundraiser. The winning
ticket for the “You Choose the Prize”
raffle will also be drawn on Sunday.
Tickets are still available for purchase
during the week in the Parish Office
and in the narthex before and after
Masses.
Due to the Spring Fling there is no
Lenten Mission or Saint Patrick’s Day
event at St. Anne; however, our
Cluster Parish, Prince of Peace, will be
having a Parish Mission and their Order
of Hibernian will celebrate a Saint
Patrick’s evening; call Prince of Peace
at 813-634-2328 for details.
Many of you have been inquiring into
the availability of church items that can
be memorialized in the name of a loved
one. I am pleased to inform you that
the updated banner depicting remaining
memorials will be on display in the
narthex; a printed brochure will be
available in the future.
A membership drive for Saint Anne
Council 7210 Knights of Columbus is
underway this week-end; various
members of the Knights will speak at
all Masses.
Last Sunday, 51 candidates and
catechumens were presented to
Bishop Robert N. Lynch at the
Cathedral of St. Jude for the Rite of
Election and continuous conversion in
their preparation to come into full
communion during Easter Vigil. The
list of all who participated is printed in
the bulletin. Please remember them in
your prayers.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. John
Let us pray for our
seminarian, Justin Paskert,
that God guides and
blesses him as he prepares
for his Ordination of
Diaconate in April.

Five Steps to Safer Environments
The Diocese of St. Petersburg mandates that all people
who work with children and youth in our parishes and
schools must undergo child abuse prevention training
through our diocesan Safe Environment Program. The
training details five steps to prevent child sexual abuse:
1. Know the warning signs of an inappropriate relationship with a child.
2. Control access to children by carefully selecting the
adults who work with children and youth.
3. Monitor all programs for the safety of children and
youth.
4. Be aware of and sensitive to what is going on in the
lives of children.
5. Communicate concerns to the appropriate person
in authority.

Safe Environment Program Manager at (727) 344-1611,

D
el jueves al domingo, marzo 8-11, la
Parroquia de Saint Anne estará
teniendo su primer Spring Fling (Festival de
Primavera).

semana, George and Kevin les estarán

Pascual.
La lista de todos los que
participaron está impresa en el boletín.
