They will have more responsibility, more homework, more time away from home. There are more opportunities for students to get involved at school in middle school. Even though your child is growing up, they still need your involvement and encouragement in order to be sucessful. Encourage your child to come to school in dress code. At Fees College Prep, our school dress code helps create an atmosphere of learning. Students are required to be in dress code each day and will receive consequence if they are not. Please refer to the Parent Handbook or our website for more information regarding the dress code. Remind your child to take care of their ID and lanyard. For safety and security, each student is issued a school ID and breakway lanyard. The ID and lanyard are part of the dress code and are expected to be worn each day. IDs and lanyards that become damaged will need to be replaced with schools approved IDs and lanyards. Help your child organize their binder. Every student will be given a black binder that is be carried to and from school each day. Since each child has several classes, it is important to use the provided divider system in order to stay organized. Follow Your Child’s Schedule at Curriculum Night! This year’s Curriculum night will be held on Tuesday, August 11th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Students will bring home their schedule and a map of the school campus on Monday, August 10th. Please bring that with you, as you will be walking through their classes. The Tempe Elementary School District curriculum is aligned to the Arizona College and Career Readiness Standards. Each content area has a curriculum that includes standards, performance objectives and skills. The delivery of instruction stresses the integration of content areas to provide a meaningful context to help children learn. A variety of teaching strategies is encouraged for students to experience success. The classroom environment focuses on meeting all student educational needs. During the designated lunch period, parents will report to the school cafeteria to hear information about our Title 1 program. We look forward to seeing you on August 11th! Dear Fees College Prep Families, Fees College Preparatory Middle School will be practicing for a lock down throughout the school year. We would like faculty and students to fully understand proper protocol. We believe in being ready - it is better to be safe than sorry. We hope that you will agree. These drills will familiarize all staff and students with the proper procedures involving a lock down situation. Experience has shown that some students may be frightened during or after practicing this drill. Please know that we will do everything possible to avoid any type of fear. We would like everyone to be prepared. If your child mentions a “lock down at school today,” please know that we conduct “practice” lock downs throughout the year. These practice lock downs better prepare students and school for an emergency situation. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive for a safe school environment.
