A Call to Support
Our Brothers and Sisters in Louisiana
The recent storms in Louisiana may not have a name, but
the names of those suffering in the wake of the worst
flooding since Hurricane Katrina are our sisters and
brothers. As a people of God, let us come to their aid. As
many as 60,000 homes have been damaged, with nearly
20,000 people being rescued from the flood waters. An
emergency collection to support the humanitarian efforts
of Catholic Charities USA will be held next weekend
September 17-18. Join the Church in being a visible
witness to the healing presence of Jesus alive in the world.
Safe Environment Training
A Safe Environment Training class will be held this
Wednesday, September 21st rom 6:30 P.M. – 8:30
P.M. at the Family Center Meeting Room. This class
is mandatory for individuals who are interested in
assisting or participating in any school function, field
trip, CCD teacher, aide or monitor, Extraordinary
Ministers of Holy Communion who take communion
to the homebound or nursing homes, etc. Anyone
interested in becoming Safe Environment compliant
must complete the online application
(www.victoriadiocese.org) prior to attending the
class. This class is for ADULTS ONLY.
Another Callout!
The parish is making available a spiritual enrichment
for the men of the community. "That Man Is You"
is an offering that allows men to grow in their
understanding of what being an authentic disciple is,
and how a deepened faith will assist in every area of
a man's life: son, husband, father, neighbor and
friend. It's an opportunity not to be missed. Extra
registration cards are available in the church and
pastoral center. Already a good group of
approximately 40+ have registered. Consider taking
