It is our mission to continually open the lines of communication with you in regard to your child's learning. This communication is done in many ways that include, but are not limited to: Phone calls Newsletters Webpages/Wikis Assignment Notebooks Meetings & Conferences Notes and/or Email messages Friday Folders/Weekly Updates Parents will be notified throughout the year as concerns and celebrations arise. If you feel you are not receiving the communication you desire, please contact your childʼs teacher. Our district website, http://www.d46.org is a great resource to find information about what is happening at Prairieview. Please visit the Newsletter and PTO links often, there are many fun events and fundraisers planned throughout the year. In addition, the “virtual backpack” link contains flyers from various organizations in the community. If you havenʼt already done so, please sign up to receive electronic updates. To help you better communicate with our staff, a list of staff voice mail extensions is included. When you are calling your childʼs teacher, please dial 543-and the teacherʼs four-digit extension number. If you need to speak to someone immediately, you may exit the voice mail system by pressing “0” or by dialing our main office number, (847)543-4230. This is a fun night for all the boys in our school to bring an adult in their lives – dad, mom, uncle, family friend – and spend some time together. There will be boy-centered crafts, games, raffles, and your ticket includes a slice of pizza, popcorn, a drink, and ice cream from Culver’s. RSVP’s are due back on Friday, November 11th! We know there are lots of other ways to spend a Saturday morning and we are very grateful. The next Market Day will be held Saturday, November 12th with online orders due by Wednesday, November 9th. Don’t forget, if you prepay your order online you can get curbside pick-up for your order! Family Reading Night and Family Dinner Night On Wednesday, November 9th, Prairieview will be holding a Family Reading Night, an evening to come to the school and listen to stories or spend time reading as a family! This event is meant to continue to foster a love of reading and further encourage literacy for our children. We hope you will join us for a relaxing evening! To make the evening easier, Wednesday, November 9th is also Family Dinner Night at Lou Malnati’s. If you order pizza from Lou Malnati’s that night, be sure to tell them you are with Prairieview so a percentage of the sale will be donated back to the school! D46 Foundation Science Supply Drive Thursday 11/3 - Sunday 11/20 Participating Stores: Grayslake Jewel & Piggly Wiggly Hands-on, minds-on learning is the most exciting and engaging way to master and explore the sciences! The D46 Foundation is coordinating a Science Supply Drive to provide necessary science materials and expand the availability of innovative science lab experiments in the classroom. Complete lists of materials and donation bins will be available at Grayslake Jewel & Piggly Wiggly throughout the drive.
