Thank you to all who support our parish by
purchasing SCRIP cards. This year, the profit from
these cards will be reported monthly. Remember Roundy’s cards are now available for reload. Cards
can be reloaded for $10-$400. All Roundy cards
bought through SCRIP after March 1, 2015 are
eligible. SCRIP is sold after all Masses and in the
office Tuesday through Friday mornings.
Children’s Worship Bulletins
Age appropriate (ages 3-6 and ages 7-12) activity
sheets, generously provided by our CCW ladies, are
available on the shelf under the Youth bulletin
board at the northwest corner of the church. These
sheets incorporate the Sunday readings into simple
learning lessons and fun activities for the kids.
Parishioners and visitors – please feel free to take
them for your children or grandchildren.
COME TO THE FESTIVAL!!!
Mission Society Update
All are Welcome for a Family Friendly Day. Start
your day with a Polka Mass at 9:30, or participate in
the 3on3 Basketball, open to all ages. In addition to
the Chicken Dinner there will be Food and
Beverages under the Tents. The Knights of
Columbus members will be grilling up Burgers,
Brats and Hotdogs, along with frying French Fries
and Cheese Curds. We have Ethnic food as well
with your choice of Chicken or Beef --- Walking
Burritos. There will be games for the kids and the
adults. Kids be sure to take a short ride in the
Evergreen Campsite Train. Enjoy the games and
Bounce House Adventure, or get your nails or face
painted. FUN! FUN! Please be on time for the
Magic Show with Tom Burgermeister at 3:00, and
don't forget that Bingo begins promptly at 2:30, no
late starts! The Polka music will be playing until
3:30 pm, when the Spanish DJ "Vikingo" will
entertain us until 5:00 pm. All Basket Raffle
drawings will begin at 5:00 pm.
*Please support our card making group. All
occasion cards can be found in the card rack at
church. The money derived from the card sales is
sent to the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse to help
defray the cost of shipping food, medicine and
supplies to many third world countries. These cards
are wonderfully made.
*The beautiful quilt, displayed at the Knights of
Columbus pancake breakfast, will be raffled off on
Labor Day weekend. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for
$5.00 or 24 for $20.00. Thanks you for taking a
chance on winning.
*The sale of gifts and religious items in church
will be on July 25th and 26th and September 5th &
6th. Thank you.
*The Mission Society will be serving the 4th
Saturday Luncheon at our Parish Hall on July 25th
starting at 11:30 until 1:00. Come and enjoy the
good food.
Would you enjoy making rosaries? Our meetings
are Monday mornings. Please join us!
Are you a wood crafter? The Buildings and
Grounds Committee is looking for a volunteer wood
craftsman to work on new wood lettering for our St.
Joseph Parish road sign that faces Cambridge Street.
The existing wood letters need to be replaced. If the
Lord has gifted you with this talent please contact
Karen Wenninger at 787-1941. Thank you!
Our 2016 Raffle Calendars continue to be on sale
in church after the weekend Masses, or in the Parish
Office during regular business hours. The calendars
make wonderful gifts for any occasion. There are
daily chances to win $60 or $25 and they only cost
$20! Thank you for supporting our fundraiser, and
good luck to all those who participate!

Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School was held Tuesday, June 23rd Thursday, June 25th. Our theme was “Hometown
Nazareth, Where Jesus was a Kid”.
We would like to thank everyone who helped in
any way to make our VBS such a rewarding
experience! It was great to see the children’s faces
light up while learning about Jesus through prayer,
song, art, and games.
We could not have done it without our terrific
volunteers. Our adult volunteers were Beth
Burdick, Helen Cox, Dawn Kelley, Kathy Larson,
Barb Meier, Nicole Smykal and Jodi Struzynski. Our
student volunteers were Anna Caswell, Ashley
Caswell, Anna Eisch, Kenny Radermacher, Hannah
Struzynski and Hailey Struzynski.
We are also grateful for all the support from our
wonderful office staff.
Thank you to all those who contributed in any way.
A special thank you to Granny’s Greenery for the
beautiful plants to landscape our VBS and the
flowers they donated for students to take home.

Sacrament of Baptism
Preparations are required. Call the
Parish Office at least two months before
the Baptism. Baptisms are scheduled the second
Sunday of the month.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
(Confession) 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, or by
request.
Bulletin Deadline
Please have your bulletin announcements to the
Parish Office in writing by 12:00 noon on Monday
of the week you wish the announcement to appear.

Algunas Reflexiones Sobre el Matrimonio —
por el Padre David Greskowiak
Algunas personas pueden sentir que la decisión de
la Corte Suprema el 26 de junio para legalizar
el matrimonio entre personas del mismo sexo ha
redefinido la santificada y la sagrada institución
del matrimonio a lo largo de nuestro país. Déjame
decirte sin embargo que ningún cambio ha
ocurrido en la iglesia católica, nuestra iglesia, ni lo
será. El Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica
afirma que el matrimonio es: "un pacto o asociación
de vida entre un hombre y una mujer, que es
ordenada para el bienestar de los cónyuges y la
procreación y la crianza de los hijos. Esta es la
antigua enseñanza de la iglesia, y ninguna persona
civil, judicial o polítical tiene autoridad para
desafiar, cambiar o interferir con él dentro de la
iglesia; y ningún católico practicante
ligeramente lo debe ignorar. Esto es tanto un asunto
de libertad religiosa y de la moralidad
personal.
La enseñanza de la iglesia sobre el matrimonio tiene
sus raíces en la Sagrada Escritura y la Ley
Natural. La ley natural es una filosofía de la ley que
dice que vinculando las normas de
comportamiento moral para los individuos y para
las sociedades se puede deducir de la
naturaleza por el simple uso de la razón humana.
Aplicando este al matrimonio podemos ver
fácilmente que por naturaleza sólo la unión de un
hombre y una mujer puede producir a niños.
Dos hombres o dos mujeres no lo pueden hacer. En
la iglesia católica, la apertura a los niños es
uno de los ingredientes necesarios para el
matrimonio. La iglesia también reconoce la
capacidad
de las parejas casadas que no tienen o no pueden
tener los niños para generar fertilidad en otras
maneras de amantes.
El Catecismo dice: “La Sagrada Escritura comienza
con la creación de hombre y mujer a imagen
y semejanza de Dios y concluye con una visión de
'el banquete de bodas del cordero.'” Ademas
dice: "Dios mismo es el autor del matrimonio . La
vocación al matrimonio está escrita en la
propia naturaleza del hombre y de la mujer quienes
se hicieron de la mano del creador.
El matrimonio no es una institución puramente
humana a pesar de las muchas variantes que pueden
haber sido sometidos a través de los siglos en
diferentes culturas, estructuras sociales y actitudes
espirituales." También observa que: "Cristo
(mismo) eligió nacer y crecer en el seno de la
Sagrada Familia de José y María".
A las personas, especialmente los católicos, que
dicen que la iglesia es antigua, obsoleta, o no en
mantenimiento con actitudes modernas hacia el
amor y el matrimonio, yo diría sin pedir
disculpas que no es nuestra iglesia que está mal,
sino más bien la aceptación del matrimonio de
personas del mismo sexo como parte de la "nueva
normalidad" que es incorrecto. La vista de la
iglesia hacia el matrimonio ha sido que el
matrimonio ha podido permanecer durante mucho
tiempo y está bien fundamentada, moralmente,
filosóficamente y teológicamente. Yo podria
comparar este punto de vista y otras enseñanzas a
lugares como el Peñón de Gibraltar, Cabo de
Hornos o un faro robusto en una costa escarpada.
No importa lo que el viento y el mar puede
hacer en cualquier momento, esos lugares todavía
están parados.
Hay mucho más que se podria decir sobre el
matrimonio, pero haría este artículo demasiado
largo. Por ahora, se espera con respecto al tema del
matrimonio, que todas las personas de fe —
jóvenes, los de mediana edad, y los mayores, que en
palabras de la oración del XIII Domingo del
tiempo ordinario: ".. .no ser envueltos en las
tinieblas del error pero siempre ser visto parados a
la luz brillante de la verdad."
