EFC – Sunday, August 2, 2015 – “Footprints of
Onesiphorus”
It is the first Sunday of the month and that means
“Footprints of Faith.” Rather than digging into a book in
the Bible to see Jesus (the way we normally do), we
explore the stories of a wide variety of people – to see
how they came to know Jesus and to walk with
Him...with the hope that their stories will help us know
Him better and walk with Him more closely.
I decided whose footprints I wanted to follow this week
while working on last week’s message…particularly the
part where Paul said, “Never be ashamed to tell others
about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either,
even though I’m in prison for him.” (2 Tim 1:8, NLT)
If you jump forward eight verses, you’ll find the
footprints I wanted to follow this week:
“May the Lord show special kindness to Onesiphorus
and all his family
because he often visited me
and encouraged me.
He was never ashamed of me because I was in chains.”
(2 Tim 1:16, NLT)
With last week’s verse fresh in my mind, as soon as I
saw why Paul thought Onesiphorus should be shown
“special kindness,” I knew I had the footprints I wanted
to follow this week!
Last week we saw Paul’s plea: don’t be ashamed…
This week, we explore the story of someone who, among
other things, wasn’t at all ashamed.
While The Bible doesn’t say much about Onesiphorus, I
believe we can learn a lot from him!

I consider it a huge privilege to put these “Footprints of
Faith” together – especially because I love biographies!
Thanks to a lot of conversations about “race” lately, one
of the people I have been studying is Abraham Lincoln
(stick with me; I hope you’ll see how my brain made a
connection between him Onesiphorus!).
In the U.S. Library of Congress, there is a small blue box
with a label that reads,
“Contents of the President’s pockets on the night of April
14, 1865.”
That was the night Abe Lincoln was assassinated.
That night, President Lincoln had:
an embroidered handkerchief;
a pocket knife;
a case for his glasses (held together with string);
a small pouch holding a $5 bill (in Confederate
currency);
and nine newspaper clippings.
The clippings fascinate me. Many were stories and
commentaries that made Lincoln look or sound
particularly good.
150 years later, most people who know anything about
Lincoln would say, “Of course he was good!”
That’s now. At that time, as the saying goes, “The jury
was still out on Lincoln.”
In 1865, the United States was anything but “united;”
Lincoln had extreme critics…on all sides of the main

trabajaba en el mensaje de la última semana...
particularmente la parte en donde Pablo dijo, “...no te
avergüences de dar testimonio de nuestro Señor, ni de
mí, preso suyo, (2 Tim 1:8, RV)
Si se saltan ocho versículos, encontraran a aquel cuyas
huellas yo quería seguir esta semana:
“Tenga el Señor misericordia
de la casa de Onesíforo,
porque muchas veces me confortó,
y no se avergonzó de mis cadenas.”
(2 Tim 1:16, RV)
Con el último versículo de la semana todavía fresco en
mi mente, tan pronto noté la razón que tenía Pablo para
mencionar a Onesíforo con tal “misericordia,”sabía que
había encontrado las huellas (ejemplo) que deseaba
seguir esta semana.
La última semana que leímos la súplica de Pablo:no te
avergüences… también exploramos la historia de alguien
quien, entre otras cosas, no estaba avergonzado del todo.
Aunque La Biblia no dice mucho acerca de Onesíforo,
Yo creo que nosotros podemos aprender mucho de él!
----- ----- ----- ----Considero un gran privilegio el poner estas “Huellas de
Fe” juntas – especialmente porque me encanta las
biografías! Gracias a muchas de las conversaciones que
últimamente he tenido acerca de “la raza”, una de las
personas que he estado estudiando es Abraham Lincoln
(quédense conmigo; deseo que vean cómo es que mi
cerebro hizo tal conexión entre este personaje y
Onesíforo). En la biblioteca del Congreso de Estados
Unidos, hay una caja azul pequeña con una etiqueta que
dice,“Contenidos del bolsillo del Presidente en la noche
del 14 de Abril del 1865”
Esa fue la noche en que Abe Lincoln fue asesinado. Esa

Los recortes me fascinan. Muchas eran historias y
comentarios que hicieron que Lincoln se vea y
suenecaracterísticamente bueno.

Since then, we’ve learned Lincoln struggled with
negative thoughts and emotions...what would probably
be diagnosed now as “clinical depression.”
That may explain why he would carry around a few
newspaper stories that affirmed him…
like one on a speech by British politician John Bright,
calling Lincoln one of the greatest men in history.
My appreciation of Lincoln grew a lot by picturing him
alone in his office or getting ready for bed at night
and pulling newspaper clippings out of his pocket – and
drawing strength and encouragement from them.
I like to find things like that about “great” people...
because it makes them more relatable,
more human,
morereal!
That is what I have found where Onesiphorus’ footprints
cross with Paul’s.
If you’ve been with us at all through our series on 2
Timothy, I hope you’ll remember Paul wrote it from a
cold, dark, cruel dungeon. It was a 30-foot round stonewalled pit underneath the main part of the Mamertine
Prison.
There was one opening to the lower dungeon, about the
size of a manhole cover in the streets here.
Many historians say Paul would have been crammed in
there with as many as 35 other men.
Like most of them, Paul had every reason to believe he
was going to be executed – and soon.
He also felt rejected…abandoned – even by those who
had once been very close to him.
Yes, The Bible frequently illustrates Paul had
extraordinary faith and joy.
It also shows he was human…real.
So I can picture him in that pitiful, depressing rock hole
in the ground,
when someone above snarled or sneered, “Hey,
‘Christian,’ somebody actually came to visit you.”
I picture Onesiphorus squatting or kneeling and trying to
see into the darkness of that dungeon– and despite being
blasted with the smell of who-knows-what, managing to
say,
“Paul? Is that really you? Did I finally find you?”
I picture Paul squinting up into the light and daring to
say, “Onesiphorus? You came?”
The Bible doesn’t tell us anything about what
Onesiphorus did while he was there
or what he said.
Apparently that didn’t matter as much as the fact that he
came…and came back – often (2 Tim 1:16).
That may be all you need to hear
or to be encouraged about today;
“justbeing there” is often the greatest thing you can give
someone.
Some of you are particularly good at that.

Onesíforo y Pablo.

Timoteo, espero recuerden lo que Pablo escribió desde
un calabozo frío, obscuro y cruel. Ese hueco de piedra
que estaba 30 pies debajo de la parte principal de la
Prisión de Mamertine.

aquí. Muchos historiadores dicen que Pablo habría

tratando de verlo en medio de la obscuridad del
calabozo– y a pesar de bombardeado con el olor de quien
sabe que, tratando de decir
“¿Pablo?¿Eres realmente tú?¿Te encontré
finalmente?”Me imagino a Pablo entrecerrando sus ojos
hacia la luz y atreviéndose a decir, ,“¿Onesíforo?
¿Viniste?”
La Biblia no nos cuenta nada acerca de que hizo
Onesíforo allí
o lo que dijo.
Aparentemente eso no importa mucho como el hecho de
que él vino… y que regresó con– frecuencia (2 Tim
1:16). Eso puede ser lo que ustedes necesitan escuchar
o ser animados el día de hoy;
“solo estar allí”es con frecuencia lo más grandioso que
puedes dar a alguien.
Algunos de ustedes son particularmente buenos en eso.

The Bible version I used earlier has Paul saying
Onesiphorus“encouraged” him. Some other versions use
the word “refreshed.” That is closer to the word that was
originally there.
JB Phillips’ translation of the verse says “many times did
that man put a fresh heart into me.”
One thing I read on this said, “It is as if the air
conditioner was turned on in the dungeon when
Onesiphorus came in….”i
Another thing said, “Onesiphorus' visits…were like a
cool breeze reviving Paul's spirit and soul.”ii
At risk of getting you daydreaming, do you know
someone who is like a cool breeze to your soul? Take a
moment and thank God for him or her.
Maybe your soul longs for someone like that! Take a
moment and specifically ask God to bring you someone
like that. Maybe he or she is already in your world and
you just haven’t connected with him or her yet. Ask God
to show you how to make that happen!
Por aquellos que lo son, oro para que vean el valor en
ello como nunca antes –
y oro para que llegue a contagiarse más y más…porque
creo que hay personas que necesitan que alguien este
junto a ellas hoy más que nunca!
Mientras entendemos y apreciamos las formas en que las
personas se conectan electrónicamente el día de hoy,
Creo que hay algo en el diseño del ser humano que nos
hace ansiar las comunicaciones cara a cara con otros
seres humanos.
Másallá de eso, creo que la gran mayoría de nosotros ni
siquiera tenemos una relación que sea profunda y
verdaderamente cercana como el tipo que nosotros
conscientemente o subconscientemente anhelamos!
La versión que usé anteriormente describe a Pablo
diciendo,Onesíforo lo “animó”. Otras versiones usan la

veces ese hombre puso un corazón nuevo en el mío.”

Otra cosa que leí decía, “La visita de Onesíforo fue como
una brisa fresca que reanimaban el espíritu y alma de

¿sabe de alguien que sean una brisa fresca para su alma?
Tomo un momento y agradezca a Dios por él o ella.
Quizá su alma anhela alguien así! Tome un momento y
pida a Dios específicamente traer alguien así. Quizá él o
ella está ya en su mundo y usted no se ha conectado con
él o ella todavía. Pida a Dios mostrarle como esto se
puede hacer realidad!
I particularly like something Paul added about
Onesiphorus:
“When he came to Rome, he searched everywhere until
he found me.” (2 Tim 1:17, NLT)
We don’t know if he came to Rome specifically to find
Paul or if he looked for him while he was there for
something else...but the way Paul wrote that line makes it
clear Onesiphorus had really looked around to find him.
I suspect
just knowing someone cared enough to do that was a
huge boost for Paul! That may be one of the reasons The
Bible doesn’t mention what Onesiphorus said or did
during any of his visits; it seems like what matters most
is: he visited!
And, apparently, they were more than just visits. You
likely know people who stop and talk to you, but you’re
left wondering if they do it for themselves...like you’re
just one more thing he or she is crossing off a “to do” list.
The verbs Paul used in these brief verses give me the
strong impression Onesiphorus was not like that at all.
Look again at how Paul said he
“searched for me earnestly
Me gusto algo que Pablo añade particularmente acerca de
Onesíforo:
“sino que cuando estuvo en Roma, me buscó
solícitamente y me halló. (2 Tim 1:17, RV)
No sabemos si él llegó a Roma con la intención de
encontrar a Pablo o si él lo busco cuando estaba allí con
otro propósito… pero la forma en la que Pablo escribió
esa línea explica claramente que Onesíforohabía estado

fue un gran aliento para Pablo! Esa puede ser una de las

For those that are, I pray you see the value in it like never
before -and I pray it becomes more contagious than ever...
because I believe people are longing for people to be
with them like never before!
While I understand and appreciate the extraordinary
ways people are connected electronically today, I believe
there is something in the human design that makes us
crave actual face-to-face connections with other human
beings!
Beyond that, I believe the vast majority of us don’t even
have one relationship that is as intense and truly intimate
as the kind we consciously or subconsciously long for!

and once he did

I suspect that was a huge encouragement particularly for
someone like Paul. I can imagine most people thinking,
“It’s Paul, for goodness’ sake; he’s tough; he’s strong. A
guy like him doesn’t need a visit.”
Or maybe,
“Who am I to try to help someone like Paul?”
I have come to learn those ways of thinking
have a lot to do with why leaders
are some of the loneliest people around!
It can be really easy to be lured into one of those ways of
thinking – even though Jesus Himself showed how crazy
it is. On the most intense night of His ministry, He
pleaded with three of His closest friends to be with
Him…using the word “with” in one of the most intense
and intimate ways. He told them,
“My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death.
Stay here and keep watch with me.” (Mt 26:38, NLT)
Jesus needed them with Him. There may be someone like
that in your world; someone who simply needs your
presence! Keep your eyes (and your heart – and
schedule) open for people like that.
If you are the person in need, maybe you need to learn
from Jesus’ example; maybe you need to risk telling a
couple of people how much you need them…and to
specifically tell them what you need!
Sospecho que eso fue un gran aliento particularmente

Él les dijo,

velad conmigo.” (Mt 26:38, RV)
Jesús los necesitaba con Él. Tal vez hay alguien así en tu
mundo; alguien que simplemente necesita tu
presencia!Mantengan sus ojos (y su corazón– y su
horario) abierto para alguien así.
Si usted es una persona que necesite a alguien, quizá
necesita aprender el ejemplo de Jesús; tal vez necesita
arriesgarse a decir a un par de personas cuanto las
necesita..y contarles que necesita específicamente!
In the case of Onesiphorus, Paul didn’t have to plead
with him to come or to stay;he came on his own! At that
point in history, he took a significant risk in doing that! If
the Romans or the Jews had anything like a “Most
Wanted,” list, Paul would have been at the top of it.
Repeatedly going to see him would have likely added
Onesiphorus to that list!
Even if wasn’t anything formal like that, he risked
something just as real. As with many cultures today, the
Middle Eastern culture back then was very sensitive to
shame.
From childhood, people learned to go out of their way to
avoid anything that would embarrass them or bring them
shame,
from something as seemingly simple as stumbling in the
street so people giggle at you
to going to visit someone “everyone” considered a guilty
criminal.
Reputations were often ruined in an instant – and when
that happened, it was almost always permanent.
En el caso de Onesíforo, Pablo no necesitaba rogarle
para que venga o se quede; él vino por su propia

Just before the verses we’ve been looking at, Paul gave
an indication of how most people felt about him:
“as you know, everyone in Asia has abandoned me…” (2
Tim 1:15, ISV)

What a contrast to how Paul was seen in Asia just ten
years earlier! Turn to a scene in the heart of Asia – when
Paul had just finished speaking to a large crowd of
people.
Luke reported:
“(Paul) knelt down and prayed with all of them.
All of them cried and cried as they put their arms around
Paul and kissed him affectionately.
They were especially sorrowful because of what he had
said—that they would never see his face again.” (Acts
20:36-38, ISV)
Ten years later, almost every one of them didn’twant to
see Paul’s face again – and going to see him would have
almost certainly added Onesiphorus to the list of people
“no one” would want to see.
A quote that’s been around quite a while comes to mind:
“A friend is the one who comes in
when the whole world has gone out.”
That is precisely what Onesiphorus did...
although The Bible doesn’t tell us what he did or said.
We just know his presence genuinely and deeply
refreshed Paul.
I wonder if one of the reasons The Bible doesn’t give
details
is because what he did or said
would not work on everyone -and part of learning to live in true community
is learning how to truly connect with the individuals
who are part of it!
I believe this brief portion may be subtly telling us
part of what we need to do
is to get to know people well enough
to get an idea of what will genuinely encourage and help
them.
Paul gave a little glimpse of the kind of investment
Onesiphorus made toward that
when he told Timothy,
“You know very well in how many ways he helped me in
Ephesus.” (2 Tim 1:18, NIV)
The word for “helped” was actually more like “served.”
The way Paul used it more fully meant
OnesiphorusservedPaul
and he served withPaul.
You can learn a lot about people
by serving them
and by serving with them.
You learn a lot about what encourages them
and what discourages them.
Or (even though I don’t know how well this will
translate):
you can learn a lot about what makes them “tick,”
and what makes them “ticked” (some of you may be in
the process of learning that right now!)
Que diferencia en como Pablo fue visto en Asia solo 10
años antes! Regrese a la escena en el corazón de Asia –
cuando Pablo en ese momento había terminado de hablar
a una gran multitud.
Lucas reportó:
“(Pablo)…se puso de rodillas, y oró con todos ellos.

Although we don’t know specifically what Onesiphorus
did or said, I believe the fact that he genuinely refreshed

Onesíforosirvió a Pablo
Y elsirvió con Pablo.
Ustedes pueden aprender mucho acerca de las personas
Por medio del servicio
Y servir con ellos.
Pueden aprender mucho acerca de lo que les anima
y lo que les desanima.
O (aunque no sé qué tan bien como se traducirá):
Ustedes pueden aprender mucho de lo que les hace
impulsar y estar impulsados (algunos de ustedes deben
estar en el proceso de aprendizaje en este momento!)

and encouraged Paul lets us know there was something
crucial he did not do!
In one lesson on this portion, the writer pointed out
we’re not supposed to
“allow someone to wallow in self-pity
or in sinful thoughts endlessly
without correction.”iii
Yes, we need to learn how to let people feel safe enough
to “vent” freely and fully–
but we also need to learn to help them not get stuck
there!
Not only that, while it may seem healthy and helpful to
join people in what might be called their “pity parties,”
look at something Paul wrote just a few lines later:
“Keep away from worthless and useless talk. It only
leads people farther away from God.” (2 Tim 2:16,
CEV)iv
Or, as God said to and through the Prophet Jeremiah:
“If you speak good words
rather than worthless ones,
you will be my spokesman.
You must influence them; do not let theminfluence you!”
(Jer 15:19, NLT)
The bottom line is, you likely know as well as I do how
easy it can be to get lured into negative, unhealthy
conversations. May The Holy Spirit show us how to react
God’s way in negative, unhealthy conversations...or
when we’re with negative, unhealthy people.
May The Holy Spirit also gently but firmly show us if we
are
or are becoming
negative, unhealthy people!
With that in mind, I want to transition in our gathered
worship; I want us to prepare for “Communion” – and
I’m going to try to guide us in a couple of specific ways.
Just a few years after Jesus led His first followers
through their literal “first Communion,”
people became very messed up in the way they thought
about and approached Communion.
Paul tried to correct them by telling them to “examine
themselves” before touching the bread or the cup.v
About 25 years have gone by since I first saw those
words as a young man in my mid 20’s…but I still
remember being very anxious when they were mentioned
at “Communion time.”
I would look in my new NIV Bible and see the portion in
1 Corinthians 11 and I would start to sweat. It would get
really bad when I would hit verse 27:
“Whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup in an
unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the
body and the blood of the Lord.”
I remember feeling torn up inside because I didn’t know
what it meant
and I didn’t want to take a chance on that kind of a sin…
and I was afraid to take Communion in an “unworthy

No solamente eso, aunque puede parecer saludable y útil
unirse a lo que llamamos lloriqueo busquen lo que Pablo
escribió unas líneas después.
“Más evita profanes y vanas palabrerías, porque
conducirán más y más a la impiedad.” (2 Tim 2:16, RV)
O, como Dios dijo a y a través del profeta Jeremías:
“…Si entresacares lo
precioso de lo vil,
Serás como mi boca.
Conviértanse ellos a ti;
ytú no te conviertas a ellos!”(Jer 15:19, NLT)
La ultima línea es, ustedes saben también como yo que es
fácil dejarse atraer por conversaciones negativas y
enfermizas. Que el Espíritu Santo nos muestre como
reaccionar de la forma de Dios frente a conversaciones
negativas y poco saludables..o cuando seamos personas
negativas y poco saludables. Que el Espiritu Santo
también nos muestre gentilmente pero firmemente si
nosotros somos
o nos estamos convirtiendo en
personas negativas y poco saludables!
Con eso en mente, quiero cambiar de nuestro tiempo de
adoración; a nuestro tiempo de “Santa Cena
(comunión)”– y voy a tratar de guiarnos en algunos
puntos específicos. Después de solo unos pocos años en
que Jesús y sus discípulos celebraron la literal “Primera
Santa Cena,” las personas se confundieron en lo que era
acercarse a servirse la Santa Cena.
Pablo trata de corregirlos diciéndoles que se “examinen”
Antes de tocar el pan o la copa.
Habían pasado 25 años desde que ví esas palabras como
un hombre con mente de 20 años… pero todavía
recuerdo estar muy ansioso cuando se mencionaba que

Recuerdo ese sentimiento que me comía por dentro y no
sabía lo que significaba
y no quería ser parte de ese tipo de pecado… y estaba
con miedo de comer La Santa Cena de una “forma

manner.”
At the same time, I remember worrying about the people
around me seeing menot “taking Communion.”
So, what was supposed to be a very special part of life in
“the body of the church” turned into panic for me.
Several years went by before The Holy Spirit began
helping me see verse 28 clearly. It really helped when I
saw how “The Message” captures it:
“Examine your motives,
test your heart;
come to this meal in holy awe.”
“Examine your motives…” Ask yourself: “what do I
think these symbols represent? Why are they even here?”
In my Bible, I drew one of those two-direction arrows
between verse 28 and the end of verses 24 and 25. In
each of those two verses Jesus said: “do this in
remembrance of me.”
I started to see Communion as a time to take a good, long
look at me and a good, long look at Jesus.
I keep coming back to Paul’s heart cry from Romans
7:15…and I keep confessing:
“I really want to do what is right, but I don’t do it.
Instead, I do the very thing that I hate.”
Any genuine, deep look at me brings me there; it brings
me to the blunt reality of the mess I would be in, if it
were not for Jesus!
In Communion, Jesus tells, “Remember me! I am
TheSavior – and I am yourSavior!
I saved you from the penalty of sin
and I am here to keep breaking the power and control
your sins have over you.
That is the rescue Paul found at the end of Romans 7:
“Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me
from this…?
Thank God! The answer is Jesus Christ.” (Romans 7:24,
NLT)
Taking Communion in a “worthy manner” is about
remembering
Jesus is Savior and Lord…
Jesus is TheSavior and Lord;
Jesus is yourSaviorand Lord.
In a few moments you’ll be welcome to get up and come
to one of the tables in here where the bread and a cup are.
Whether you come or not is between you and God. At
this particular church, we try to be as sure as we can be
that The Holy Spirit is ultimately leading all parts of our
“gathered worship.” That is uniquely true when we
celebrate Communion. We want Him to lead you in
Communion...so before people start making their way to
the tables, we want to create at least a little space for Him
to prepare you – and to lead you.
At this particular church, it is not about being a
“member” here.
We leave the matter of “age” up to parents; to have
talked with your children about when or whether they’re
“ready.”

Jesús dijo: “…hagan esto en memoria de mí.”Empezé a
mirar a La Santa Cena como un tiempo para examinarme
muy bien, y examinar más aún a Jesús.
Continuo trayendo a mi memoria el corazón de Pablo
llorando por los Romanos. 7:15 y sigo confesándome:
“Realmente quiero hacer lo que es correcto, pero no lo
hago. En vez de eso termino haciendo lo que odio.”
Cuando me miro profunda y genuinamente termino
confesando lo mismo; me trae a la cruda realidad del
desastre que hubiese sido si no tuviera a Jesús!
En La Santa Cena, Jesús me dice, “Recuérdame! Yo soy
El Salvador – y Yo soy tu Salvador!
Te salve de la concecuencia del pecado
Y estoy aquí rompiendo el poder y controlque el pecado
tiene sobre ti.
Ese es el rescate que Pablo encontró al final de Romanos
7: “!Miserable de mi! …¿Quién me librará de este
cuerpo de muerte?
Gracias doy a Dios, por Jesucristo.” (Romans 7:24,
NLT)
Participar de la Santa Cena de una manera indigna se
trata de recordar que
Jesus es mi Salvador y Señor
Jesus es El Salvador y El Señor
Jesus es tu Salvador y tu Señor.
En pocos momentos serás invitado a levantarte y
acercarte a una de las mesas aquí, donde están el pan y la
copa. Si participa o no está entre Dios y usted. A esta
iglesia en particular, tratamos que el Espíritu santo sea
finalmente el que lidere nuestro tiempo de adoración. Es
lo mismo cuando celebramos La Santa Cena. Queremos
que Él les guíe hasta aquí…así que antes que las personas
se levanten hacia las mesas, queremos crear por lo menos
un espacio para que Él los prepare– y los acerque hasta
aquí. Esta iglesia en particular cree que no se trata solo
de ser solo parte de ella.
Dejamos el asunto de la edad a los padres; el haber
hablado con sus hijos acerca de cuándo o si están listos.

morning...although I want it to be connected to
Communion.

first supposed to be very personal, extremely individual...
between you and God.
It is also designed to be celebrated together with others;
others who are making their own personalized version of
the same core confession you are!
I would like to encourage you to consider doing
something I hope will flow out of your gratitude for
Communion
and what it represents.
On the tables where the bread and cups are, you should
also find pencils and simple pieces of paper.
I encourage you to consider taking one of each back to
where you were sitting.
In your time of personal reflection with God, I encourage
you to consider asking Him if there is someone in
particular (or a few people) He would like you to
encourage—to try to “refresh.” If (or as) He does, while
the music continues, simply put the words down on the
paper!
The idea got planted in me when I read about the
newspaper clippings President Lincoln carried.
That is why I encourage you to consider asking God if
there is someone in particular (or a few people) He would
like you to encourage—to try to “refresh.” If someone
comes to mind and he or she is here this morning (it
could even be your spouse; your child; your parent), just
put some words down on that paper and hand it to him or
her before you leave.
If it is someone you’ll see later today or this week, put
the words down now and make sure you get it to him or
her.
Maybe there is someone God wants you to send an email
to...or a Facebook, Whatsapp or Instagram message. Jot
the name down on the paper right now to remind you to
do it later...and maybe jot down a few notes now about
what you want to be sure to remember to put in the actual
message.
