In May 2012, as part of the VALOR Act, Massachusetts joined other states as part of the Interstate Compact on
Educational Opportunity for Military Children. The Interstate Compact aims to make the transition easier for
mobile children in military families in areas such as enrollment, assessment, and graduation.
As part of this act, all Massachusetts Public Schools must collect information regarding its students’ parent’s
military status.
If the parent/guardian of your child is a member of the uniformed services or National
Guard and Reserve, please check the appropriate box below.
***If the child’s parent/guardian is not a member of the uniformed services or National Guard and Reserve,
there is no need to return this form.***

En mayo de 2012, como parte de la Ley VALOR, Massachusetts se unió a otros estados como parte del Acuerdo
Interestatal de Oportunidad Educacional para Niños de Militares. El Acuerdo Interestatal apunta a facilitar la
transición para los niños migrantes de familias de militares en áreas tales como la inscripción, evaluación y
graduación.
Como parte de esta ley, todos las Escuelas Públicas de Massachusetts deben recolectar información sobre el
estatus militar de los padres de sus alumnos.
Si el padre/encargado de si hijo/a es un miembro uniformado de la Guardia Nacional o
de la Reserva, favor de marcar el encasillado correspondiente.
