Remodelación de la Oficina
Por Greta
Mendez
New SITES!!
The following sites are for PCVs interested in seed storage
using appropriate technology silos, natural insecticides, and what to do
with sheep hair (not a big issue in Panama as there are more
"hairless sheep" here). Joe

Games for The Learning Adventure
Upon my departure from Panama I left a number of kid's
interactive games, mainly Disney, in the office with Edgardo. I used
these programs in a computer course that I offered in my site using some
of the loaner office computers. The programs are in Spanish. They’re lots of fun, and
really quite useful to help teach basic computing skills. My idea for
leaving them with Edgardo is as follows: if you would like to use them,
you can come to the city and have copies made to take to your site.
This way, in theory, if others buy software and leave it behind, too, we
might be able to amass quite a little library of software to use in our
work. It's an idea...

Janice,
I thought this 'poll' would be interesting for anyone to read who has thought of the pros/cons
of introducing technology & internet to campesinos.

B & B News
Lots of changes in the world of the B & Bs. We, the Vaina
Goddesses, are trying to update the list, (isn’t this a VAC sort of thing?) but ‘the
list’ seems to be in a box somewhere -sacrificed to the
‘remodelacion’ spirits.
So, following are names of people that are definitely leaving, so

don’t bother calling them anymore. If you know of any changes in the B & B scene,
write it in: either people that are leaving or people that are arriving or
people that are available but are neither leaving nor arriving…you
get the picture. We’ll
compile a new list for the lounge (what lounge?) as soon as there is a
list.
Thanks!

Please take my name off the B and B list. I'll be leaving Panama soon and my apartment will be a
disaster of packing coordination and unfit to host Peace Corps volunteers. I'll do my best to talk
the B&B program up here. I've had great fun as a PCV host. Thanks! V

Julieta and Nick Noyes, no longer available.
Lidia Richardson, available until the end of July.
Steve Moorhead, no longer available.
All in all, the list is pretty weak right now and Janice
has sent a new application to the Embassy for new arrivals to sign up if
they are so inclined.
We’ll let you know as soon as we know.
