Weston Solutions, consultor ambiental de
Austin Energy, ha completado un muestreo
esencial en la Planta Eléctrica Holly, colectando
aproximadamente 1,300 muestras de suelos en un patrón
cuadriculo en la parte norte del sitio. Además, Weston
Solutions ha sometido su propuesta para la siguiente fase

Austin Energy’s environmental consultant,
Weston Solutions, completed a major sampling effort at the Holly Power Plant, collecting
about 1,300 soil samples in a grid pattern across the north
half of the site. Weston Solutions has submitted a proposal
to conduct the next phase of work, which will include additional sampling around the Holly warehouse building and
in the basement of the former turbine generator building.
Weston will then prepare two reports for submittal to Texas
Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) that will
present the data collected and a plan for remediating the
site to TCEQ standards. Upon approval of the plan by TCEQ,
Weston will work with a remediation contractor to complete the site cleanup and remaining concrete demolition,
followed by backfill of the former turbine generator building.
This work is expected to begin this summer and continue
until the end of 2015.

• A Holly Neighborhood meeting has been set for
Tuesday, May 26 at 6:00pm at Metz Recreation Center.

• Austin Energy has applied for an extension to the approved site
plan for the decommissioning project. There are no changes to the
site plan. This is simply an extension to make up for delays during
the previous phase of the project. Austin Energy’s goal is to complete
the final phase of decommissioning by the end of 2015.
