MOST HOLY TRINTIY/ SANTÍSIMA TRINIDAD
On this day’s liturgy we focus on the Solemnity of the
Most Holy Trinity. Although, every Sunday’s liturgy is
Trinitarian in character, directing our prayer to the Father through Jesus the Son in the unity of the Holy
Spirit. Today’s solemnity invites us to celebrate the
qualities of the Trinity. We are called to acknowledge
the Trinity, which consists of a loving Creator, a compassionate redeemer, and a creative sanctifier. We
are called to make the qualities of the Trinity visible in
our own lives by embracing the
qualities of love, peace and unity.
In Catholic theology, the
word ‘Trinity’ means the union of
three persons – God the Father,
God the Son and God the Holy
Spirit – three in one. Yet, there
are not three Gods but only one
God. Jesus himself teaches us
about the Trinity. First, he taught
the Apostles to recognize in Him
the eternal Son of God; “No one
comes to the Father except
through me” (John 14:6). When
his ministry on earth was drawing
to a close, he promised that the
Father would send another Divine Person, the Holy Spirit, in
His place; “...the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will send in My
name, will teach you everything” (John 14:25). Finally, after
his resurrection, He instructed
the apostles to, “Go and teach all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father AND of the Son AND of
the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:18). The mention of each
of the persons of the Trinity being connected with each
other by the conjunction “AND” is in itself evidence that
there are Three Persons in One; otherwise, why would
Jesus ask them to baptize in the name of all three?
When we read Paul’s letters to the Corinthians, we can
see that the Early Church understood the Trinitarian
nature of God because, even back then, they used a
holy greeting with one another: “The grace of the Lord
Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of
the Holy Spirit be with all of you.” (2 Corinthians 13:13)
This is the same greeting we use today at the beginning of every liturgy. We begin every liturgy with the
sign of the cross in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit. When we do this, we
are not only giving praise to the Trinity but making a
statement of faith. How carefully do we make the
sign of the cross? Take care to make the sign of the
cross with the full attention and reverence it deserves.
En la liturgia de hoy se celebra la Solemnidad de la
Santísima Trinidad. Aunque cada liturgia es trinitaria en
carácter dirigiendo nuestra oración al padre a través de
Jesús el hijo en la unidad del Espíritu Santo. La solemnidad de hoy nos invita a celebrar las cualidades de la
Trinidad. Estamos llamados a reconocer a la Trinidad
que consiste en un amoroso creador, un compasivo redentor y un reconfortante santificador. Se nos llama a
visibilizar las cualidades de la Trinidad en nuestras propias vidas adoptando las cualidades de amor, paz y unidad.
En Teología Católica
la palabra ‘Trinidad’ significa
la unión de tres personas:
Dios Padre, Dios Hijo y Dios
el Espíritu Santo – tres en
uno. Sin embargo, no hay
tres dioses sino un solo Dios.
Jesús mismo nos enseña
según la Trinidad. Primero,
enseño a los apóstoles a
reconocer en él el Hijo de
Dios Eterno. Dijo, “nadie viene al Padre sino por
Mi” (Juan 14:6). Cuando su
ministerio en la tierra estaba
llegando a su fin, prometió
que el Padre enviara a otra
persona divina, el Espíritu
Santo, en su lugar. Dijo,
“...el Espíritu Santo, que el
Padre enviara en mi nombre,
les enseñara todo” (Juan
14:25). Finalmente, después de su resurrección, ordeno a los apóstoles diciendo, “Ir y enseñar a todas las
naciones, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre y del
Hijo y del Espíritu Santo” (Mateo 28:19). Dado a que la
mención de cada una de las personas de la Trinidad
está conectada entre sí por la conjunción "y" (la palabra
“y”) es en sí mismo evidencia que hay tres personas en
una; de lo contrario, ¿por qué Jesús pediría que bautizaran en nombre de los tres?
Cuando leemos las cartas de San Pablo a los
corintios, podemos ver que la Iglesia antigua entendió la
naturaleza trinitaria de Dios porque, incluso, utilizaban
un saludo Santo unos con el otro diciendo, “La gracia de
nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el amor del Padre y la comunión del Espíritu Santo estén siempre con ustedes” (2
Corintios 13:13). Este es el mismo saludo que se usa
hoy al comienzo de cada liturgia. También comenzamos cada liturgia con la señal de la cruz en el nombre
del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo. Al hacer la
señal de la cruz estamos haciendo una declaración de
fe y al mismo tiempo dando alabanza a la Trinidad.
¿Hacemos la señal de la cruz cuidadosamente con
amor? Hagamos la señal de la cruz con toda la atención y reverencia que se merece.

First Holy Communion May 29
First Holy Communion Celebration will take place on
May 29th. We inform parents to please arrive 45
minutes prior to the celebration and go directly to
the Rome room, please use the side door. The entrance procession will begin 10 minutes before the
Mass, we ask you to arrive on time.
Sacraments for Adults
If you are not baptized and wish to receive the Sacraments of Communion and Confirmation, join us
every Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
RCIA May 24,
On May 24, there are no sessions of RCIA, due to the
penance service for our candidates ready to celebrate First Holy Communion. Initiates are invited to
participate in the Penitential Service.

de la Celebración mayo 29th, deberán llegar 45 minutos

Roma, por la puerta del lado. La procesión de entrada
comenzara 10 minutos antes de la Misa, les rogamos el
favor de llegar a la hora indicada.
