WE ARE TO BE TRANSFORMED
Today’s showing forth of God’s glory is filled with a
light that astonishes and reveals. Jesus transfigured on
Mount Tabor energizes even the sleepy apostles, who see
but cannot get hold of it. They can be forgiven for not apprehending the full meaning of this extraordinary vision of
a transfigured Jesus with Elijah and Moses. The whole of
the Law and prophets is summed up here on this mountain.
The transfiguration on Mount Tabor is handed over to
us this Sunday. As Paul reminds us, it is we who are to be
transformed. The light and life of the Resurrection are set
forth here so we do not lose heart and fall entirely asleep.
This Sunday looks to Easter. It looks to transformation. It
asks us to lift up our heads and acknowledge the risen Lord
as our light and our salvation.

LENTEN SERIES
“MERCY IN THE PSALMS”
February 22nd– 26th
Thank you to all of the individuals and families who have generously
pledged for our Annual Catholic Appeal. We are ranked number two in the
Diocese for participation, up 74 families from last year!! Thank you for
choosing to sacrifice and give generously to all the worthy programs that
the Diocese of Yakima oversees.
If you have not had the chance to donate yet and are interested, or if you
would simply like more information, please contact the parish office.
Please join us this week for a study on Mercy.
The course will be led by George Ahrend in English and Father Miguel in Spanish and will explore the Bible’s use of Psalms in explaining
mercy. We will meet each night at 6:00pm. English classes will meet in the Parish Center, while
Spanish class will take place in the basement.
Everyone should bring their Bible! For more

RED MASS
A special Mass will be offered for lawyers and legal professionals this
Tuesday, February 23rd at 7pm, at St. Paul Cathedral in Yakima. For

SEREMOS TRANSFORMADOS
La manifestacion de la Gloria de Dios en el Evangelio de hoy
esta llena de una luz que a la vez asombra y revela. Jesus, transfigurado en el Monte Tabor, llena de su energía a los apostoles
adormecidos, que ven la vision, pero no la saben captar. Es perdonable que no capten del todo el significado de esta extraordinaria vision de Jesus transfigurado, entre Moises y Elías. Aquí, en
el monte santo, se resumen la Ley y los profetas.
Hoy esa transfiguracion se nos ofrece y se nos entrega. Como
nos recuerda san Pablo, somos nosotros los que vamos a ser
transformados. Hoy se nos presentan la luz y la vida de la Resurreccion, para que no nos descorazonemos, no sea que nos quedemos del todo dormidos. Este domingo ya mira hacia la Pascua.
Mira hacia la transformacion. Nos pide que levantemos la cabeza,
y reconozcamos al Senor Resucitado como nuestra luz y salvacion.

“LA MISERICORDIA EN LOS SALMOS”

¡Gracias a todos los individuos y familias que han contribuido generosamente
para nuestra Peticion Catolica Anual! Tenemos el segundo lugar en participación en toda la Diócesis este año, se incremento 74 familias más que el año
pasado!! Gracias por sacrificar y dar generosamente a todos los programas dignos supervisados por la Diocesis de Yakima.
Si usted no ha tenido la oportunidad de donar, y esta interesado, o si simplemente desea mas informacion, pongase en contacto con la oficina parroquial.
Unase a nosotros esta semana para un estudio en la
misericordia. George Ahrend sera el instructor en
ingles, y el Padre Miguel en la de espanol. Estaremos hablando de la misericordia en los Salmos.
Vamos a reunirnos todos los días a las 6:00pm por
una semana. La clase en Ingles sera en el Centro
Parroquial, mientras la clase en espanol sera en el
sotano. Todos deben llevar sus Biblias! Para mas
