Message from the Clergy
Next month on August, it will be my second year as your
pastor at St Therese of the Child Jesus parish. I could say
that it took me this long to stabilize and to learn the ins and
outs of our parish because as you know I was so busy with
things that needed immediate attention like the resignation
of our secretary and DRE. Aside from that, there are so
many things to be maintained as far as our church and
buildings are concerned.
In the midst of the busyness in our parish, one night in
my prayer a thought came to my meditation that what was
really needed in our parish is an operations manager who
will deal more on the business and administrative concerns
of our parish, thereby freeing me to do my priestly responsibilities more. And thank God that He sent us Art Romo,
who as you know by now, is our Operations Manager.
I can say that we are now seeing the fruits of this inspiration through the many visible improvements in our parish.
Right now, we have a lot of things that needs to be done in
order to move our parish forward. Little by little I will touch
on these in my future letters in the bulletin.
I also have come to realize that I need to inform you about
what is happening in our parish through the bulletin so that
you will not be left wondering or asking a lot of questions
about our parish. I will be then using the bulletin to inform
you as well as to give catechism if needed.
Let me just run down what we are doing right now. As
you enter our church, you may have observed that we are
putting up a sign for our church. This is due the fact that
oftentimes a lot of people get lost looking for our church
because we do not have any marker and our church is not
that visible from Lennox Street. Also, we are presently renovating two office rooms in our parish building, one for the
pastor and the other for the operations manager. We just
finished fixing the roof of our seminarian’s house as well as
fixing the other parts of the house. Right now, we are also
putting some tiles in the basement of the pastor’s rectory
because last year the basement got flooded. Through the
help of the Knights of Columbus under Joe Ortiz, we also
put new tiles on the female restroom in the gym.
We just also finished working on our webpage. You can
go and take a look at it at www.littlethereseinmidvale.com.
Some part is still under construction as I need more information for our groups or councils and ministry leaders.
Spanish version of the webpage will come after we finish
the English version.
I, Fr. Dass and the whole staff of our parish would like to
thank you for all your prayers and support for our parish.
We could not do these things without you support. Let us
pray for one another and let us help and support one another to move St Therese parish forward to the future.

El próximo mes de agosto, será mi segundo año como pastor
en la parroquia Santa Teresita del Niño Jesús. Podría decir que
me tomó tanto tiempo para estabilizar y para aprender los embrollos de nuestra parroquia, porque como ustedes saben yo
estaba tan ocupado con las cosas que necesitan atención inmediata como la renuncia de nuestra secretaria y DRE. Aparte de
eso, hay tantas cosas que deben ser atendidas a lo que nuestra
iglesia y los edificios se refiere.
En medio de las ocupaciones en nuestra parroquia, una noche en mi oración un pensamiento vino a mi meditación que lo
que realmente se necesita en nuestra parroquia es un director
de operaciones que se ocupará de las cuestiones administrativas de nuestra parroquia, liberándome para hacer mis responsabilidades sacerdotales. Y gracias a Dios que Él nos envió Art
Romo, que como ustedes saben por ahora, es nuestro Gerente
de Operaciones.
Puedo decir que ahora estamos viendo los frutos de esta
inspiración a través de los numerosos mejoramientos visibles
en nuestra parroquia. En este momento, tenemos un montón de
cosas que hay que hacer con el fin de mover nuestra parroquia
hacia adelante. Poco a poco me referiré a ellos en mis futuros
mensajes en el boletín.
También me he dado cuenta de que tengo que informarle acerca de lo que está sucediendo en nuestra parroquia a través del
boletín de modo que no tenga que andar suponiendo o haciendo preguntas acerca de nuestra parroquia. Yo estaré utilizando
el boletín para informar a usted, así como para dar catecismo si
es necesario.
Permítanme correr por lo que estamos haciendo en este momento. Al entrar en nuestra iglesia, usted puede observar que
estamos poniendo un anuncio para nuestra iglesia. Esto se debe al hecho de que muchas veces una gran cantidad de personas se pierden en busca de nuestra iglesia, porque no tenemos
ningún anuncio y nuestra iglesia no es visible desde la calle
Lennox. Además, actualmente estamos renovando dos oficinas
en el edificio de la parroquia, una para el pastor y el otro para el
gerente de operaciones. Acabamos de terminar la reparación
del techo de la casa de nuestro seminarista, así como la reparación de otras partes de la casa. En este momento, también estamos poniendo algunos azulejos en el sótano de la rectoría del
pastor, porque el año pasado el sótano se inundó. A través de
la ayuda de los Caballeros de Colón bajo Joe Ortiz, también
pusimos nuevos azulejos en el baño de mujeres del salón.

construcción, ya que necesito más información de nuestros grupos o consejos y líderes de ministerios. La versión en español
de la página web estará disponible después de terminar la versión en inglés.
