St. Mary`s Catholic Church
October 9, 2016 — Twenty-Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time -Year C DIOCESE OF AUSTIN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN CENTRAL TEXAS St. Mary’s Catholic Church OUR MISSION STATEMENT St. Mary's is a community of believers dedicated to the living worship of God. As the only Catholic Church in Limestone County, our faith community reflects the ethnic diversity of the towns in which we live. We gather to fulfill our mission as disciples of Jesus Christ: we hear His Word, we celebrate the Sacraments and we witness His love to others. Our Christian witness consists of sharing our spiritual gifts with the grace of God and the example and prayers of our patron saint, the Immaculate Conception, among us and with others - striving to grow in Holiness. Bishop Vásquez’ Prayer Request For all people, that by responding in faith to the Gospel, they may be made whole and restored to a proper relationship with God and the Church … Catholic Social Teaching Corner October 9th, 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time — Healing was a special ministry of Jesus. Through healing, the sick were not only restored to health, but they were restored to community life – the community was healed as well. Who are the lepers of our society who are cast out and rejected? What healing do we need to welcome the immigrant; the poor; the prisoner coming out of jail? How are we called by our faith to challenge and heal our society by upholding the dignity of every person, especially those who are hated, marginalized or helpless?
