Reflection for This Week
Sunday, June 8 is Pentecost Sunday, as the Church celebrates the coming and ongoing
presence of the Holy Spirit among us. Jesus breathes on his jittery followers and tells
them, "Peace be with you" and fills them with courage.
We can hardly believe the message from this week's gospel. It is one of complete invitation to us. Jesus tells us of
his intimate bond with the Father and invites us into the same kind of close relationship with Jesus himself.
He does not promise us a trouble-free life, and is clear about the challenges we will face as his followers. He cautions us that the world will want to make us one of "its own" and Jesus lovingly protests that we are his, not the
world's. He prays to the Father of us, "they are your gift to me. I wish that where I am they also may be with me..."
This kind of loving dialogue with the Father is what Jesus wants with us. It does not mean our lives will be troublefree but we are offered the peace in our hearts that Jesus longs to give us. (Creighton Reflections)

From Saint Agnes Outreach Services:
It is amazing to watch the development of the children in our education programs! From the
littlest ones in our Mommy and Me Learning English to the older students in Count- Down To
Kindergarten. We have been learning and growing together. The Holy Spirit leads us in the
joyful pursuit of what it true, noble and good. We learn that life has been given to us by our Father and we work to become the person that He intends for us to be.
In addition to our wonderful teachers we want to thank Lori Ann Reinhardt who assisted the
children with their first gardening lessons. The children helped to plant flowers in the garden
begun by Sister Mimi outside of Thomas Patrick Hall.
We thank Father William Kaufman and the good people of Saint Pius X Parish for their very
generous Manna Food delivery for people in need in our community. We are delighted to be
working together for the common good through the Mercy of Jesus Christ, Our Lord.
Where we invest our trust and hope, we invest our lives!

ATTENTION:
Within the next few weeks the yellow and green
paper recycling bins will be removed from our
parking lot due to the low commodity pricing for
recycled paper. At that me we will no longer be
able to accept drop offs of paper.
We currently pay to have the cardboard dumpster
picked up and that is for use of St. Agnes School,
Rectory, Dayroom only.
If the recycled paper market improves we will consider bringing back the Paper Retriever Program.

Dejando huellas
St. Agnes School News
The Eighth Grade Presents
Just when you thought it could not get any better, the eighth grade
goes beyond expectations with the annual school production. This year, Willy Wonka, proved to be
a positive message and a great story. The catchy tunes were well liked by the cast and the over
100 person chorus of second through seventh graders. Under the direction of the team of Mrs.
Barbara McDermott and Mrs. LeeAnne Hosking, the cast really pulled out all of the stops with an
excellent production.
For the last time, Mrs. Marianne Korchynsky, art teacher, prepared the gorgeous sets with the
assistance of the eighth graders and their parents. What a great set it was with the centerpiece a
large gate! Mrs. Korchynsky shares our enthusiasm with her following comments:
I have been doing the scenery for over 28 years at St Agnes and I have seen an incredible
enthusiasm from the 8th grade in their contribution to the scenery and props in my art room.
They work together as a group who share their talents and abilities, from assembling a tree to
drawing a scene with all their creative spirit. They would not be who they are unless they had
such incredible parents who nurture them in the arts. They take ownership of their play theme ,
completing it to the fullest. WE are so blessed to have such talented children who grow into
wonderful adults. Parents, thank you for the privilege to create with your children!
Also to the class of 2014 who have enriched my life these past 8 years!
Mrs Marianne Korchynsky
Thanks also to Mrs. Frame and Ms. Ewald for helping backstage with microphones and props, Mr.
Hosking for engineering the sound, Mr. Bill Dolan for helping with the set construction, and all the
parents that helped out with props and costumes.
The show was performed on April 30 and May 1 on the stage in TPH. The show was delayed by
two weeks due to the number of snow days. It was worth the wait!
St. Agnes School Registration- Registrations for the 2014 - 2015 school year will be taken
by appointment only. Please call the office to make an appointment for our next registration day,
June 6. There are limited openings in Kindergarten and several openings still for full-day or halfday prekindergarten.
Our mission at Saint Agnes Catholic School is to develop every student spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially
in a joyful, faith-based environment that inspires integrity, citizenship, leadership and service to others in the Church and in the
world.
