MUMFORD HOME BULLETIN
Welcome Back: We hope everyone had a restful and safe Spring Break!
One Act Play: Our students will be participating in the UIL One Act Play Competition, today, Monday March 19th.
This will be the zone competition and will take place in Cameron; if they advance they will compete at the district
competition at Brenham on Saturday, March 24th. We wish all of our students good luck in their performance of the
play titled Her Senior Year, written by Cody Morlee. All are invited to go and watch the competition.
Softball/Baseball Season: Our baseball and softball seasons are beginning district play and we invite

Congratulations: Before spring break our boy’s basketball team finished up a TERRIFIC season! They made it
to the state finals and in the last game came up a bit short, they finished the year as state runner ups. We want
to thank all our fans who supported our team through out the entire season and those that made the trip to Austin
to cheer on our boys. We are VERY proud of our boy’s team and the coaches! Our boys came away with several
honors and we will be passing those on to you all soon!
Cheer Teams: Congratulations to all the girls who made the cheer team. The girls making the JH team include:
Destine Cruz, Daniela Fernandez, Mariah Flores, Erica Gomez, Ariana Mack, Maria Rodriguez, Rheagan Scasta,
Caityln Skinner, Alyssa Trevino, and Quanesha Turner. High School Cheerleaders include: Ashley Alvarado,
DeAndrea Carroll, Jennifer Fazzino, Alex Galicia, Angel Gongora, Marissa Landaverde, Jessica Moore, Emily
Scamarado, Megan Thweatt, Audrie Trevino, Britteney Walton, and Jessica Van Winkle. Earning main mascot was
Kaylee Walshcak and alternate mascots were: Ty Baker and Christopher Keeling. Congratulations to you all!
Robertson County Livestock Show: We have many students that will be showing animals and other projects
during this week at the County Fair and wish them all good luck! This past weekend we had several young ladies
from Mumford participate in the RCFA Queen’s Coronation. They all did a great job! They were: Bethany Scamardo
(Mumford Boosters) and Jacquelyn Macias (Mumford LOTT). Also, Mumford students who were representing other
organizations in the Queen’s Contest were: Jessica Van Winkle (Mumford 4-H), Alexis Arteaga (Hearne Fire
Department), and Kara Stanford (Robertson County Go-Texan). Bethany Scamardo came home with the honor of
being named Most Photogenic at the contest. Congratulations, we are proud of all of you!
All District Honors: Congratulations to the following varsity basketball players for receiving All -District
Honors. For the boys team: Co-MVP was Aubrie King; New Comer of the Year was LaKendrick Hyson; 1st Team
All-District: Quincy Lewis and Robert Galicia; 2nd Team All-District: Josh Sustaital; Honorable Mention: Seth
Smitherman, Willie Pompa, and Michael Hansen. For the girl’s team: Offensive Player of the Year - LaKortney Hyson;
2nd team all district was Dominique Booker; Honorable Mention: Abigail Eckenrode, Taylor Edwards, Brianna Jutson,
Victoria Schoeneman, and Alexandria Stoker. For making good grades while playing on the team we have 1st Team AllAcademic: Robert Galicia, Quincy Lewis, Aubrie King, Seth Smitherman, Domique Booker, Abbie Eckenrode, Brianna
Jutson, Jessica Macias, Alex Stoker, and Taylor Edwards. 2nd Team All-Academic honors went to: Victoria
Schoeneman, LaKortney Hyson, and Willie Pompa.
STAAR Test: Several of our grades will be taking STAAR tests next week. These are very important tests,
students need to eat a good breakfast and get a good night sleep the night before the exam.

Bienvenidos: Esperamos que todos hayan tenido unas vacaciones muy buenas!
Obra Teatrica de un Acto: Nuestros estudiantes estarán participando en la Competicia de UIL hoy, lunes
marzo 19. Esta será la competencia de la zona y se llevará a cabo en Cameron. Si ganan avanzaran a competir en el
concurso de distrito en Brenham el sábado, marzo 24. Les deseamos a todos buena suerte en su desempeño de la obra
titulada “Her Senior Year”, escrito por Cody Morlee. Todos están invitados a ir y ver la competencia.

Felicidades: Antes de las vacaciones de primavera, nuestro equipo de baloncesto de chicos termino una temporada
increíble! Llegaron a las finales del Estado pero desafortunadamente no pudieron ganar su ultimo juego asi que este
año terminaron en segundo lugar. Queremos dar las gracias a todos nuestros seguidores que apoyaron nuestro equipo
durante toda la temporada y los que hicieron el viaje a Austin para animar a nuestros muchachos. Estamos muy
orgullosos de equipo de nuestros chicos y de los entrenadores! Nuestros muchachos ganaron muchos honores y esos
los anunciaremos a todos ustedes muy pronto!
Equipos de Porristas: Felicidades a todas las chicas que agarraron lugar en el equipo de porristas. Las chicas en

Show de Ganado del Condado de Robertson: Tenemos muchos estudiantes mostraran animales y otros
proyectos durante esta semana en la feria del condado y les deseamos a todos muy buena suerte! Este pasado fin de
semana tuvimos varias señoritas de aquí de Mumford que participaron en la coronación de Reyna de Feria. Todas
hicieron un gran trabajo! Ellas fueron: Bethany Scamardo (Mumford Boosters) y Jacquelyn Macias (Mumford LOTT).
También, estudiantes que representaron a otras organizaciones fueron: Jessica Van Winkle (Mumford 4-H), Alexis

Examen STAAR: Varios de nuestros estudiantes estarán tomando exámenes de STAAR la siguiente semana. Estos
son muy imporantes. Estudiantes necesitan tener un buen desayuno y procurar tener un buen descanso la noche
anterior.
