Our Lady of the Angels Parish: A Planning Study
Dear Parishioners,
In reports in the parish bulletin I have written to you about the work of our representatives of our
Pastoral Committee for Temporal Administration and the Pastoral Committee for Stewardship
as we face the challenge of repairing and improving our parish facilities. Over the past year, our
parish leadership has joined me in reviewing the needs of our parish buildings, particularly both
churches. There are a number of major repairs and renovations needed to keep our buildings in
good working order and to improve them by making them more accessible, especially for the
elderly and the disabled. We are in the process of prioritizing these needs and estimating the
total cost for the work.
Careful consideration and thoughtful planning are required for us to move forward. This is why
input from you, our parishioners, is of the utmost importance at this time. Your opinions
and suggestions will enable us to formulate a final plan that will help meet the needs of our
entire parish today and for the future. During the next several weeks, we will be gathering
information from all parishioners to determine the over-all level of support for moving forward
with these repairs and renovations. We would also like to gauge the anticipated level of
participation from our parishioners and gain a better sense of the fundraising potential that exists
at our parish, particularly in the current economic situation.
We have retained Trinity Consultants Inc., a nationally recognized Catholic fundraising firm.
They have been approved by Diocese of Trenton to direct a Planning Study for our parish. They
were selected after an interview process with members of the Parish Pastoral Committee for
Temporal Administration. They agree with me that working with a consultant will help us best
achieve our funding goals while allowing me to continue to focus on my ministry in the parish.
During the next month, every parish family on our mailing list will be contacted and asked to
take part in the study process. Your continued input and perspective is valued. Members of the
Trinity team will be conducting one-on-one personal interviews and focus groups with families
and individuals of the parish. A direct mail study questionnaire will be mailed to every home as
well. The full participation of all parishioners is very important before moving forward with our
project.
I invite you to participate in the survey process so that we may complete this study with your
open and honest input. Your advice and counsel are much appreciated as we move forward in
faith. Our parish has an impressive past and present. Now we need to look at how we can
provide the facilities we need for its future. That is what this study is really about.

Les he escrito en el boletín sobre el trabajo de los representantes de nuestro Comité Pastoral de
Administración y del Comité Pastoral de Corresponsabilidad sobre como enfrentamos el desafío de
renovar y actualizar nuestras instalaciones parroquiales. Durante el año pasado, el liderazgo
parroquial y yo hemos repasado las necesidades de los edificios parroquiales y nuestros dos templos
en particular. Hay muchas reparaciones y renovaciones necesarias para mantener los edificios en
buenas condiciones y también de mejorarlos para hacerlos más accesibles, especialmente para los
más mayores y los discapacitados. Estamos en el proceso de fijar prioridades para estas necesidades
y estimar el costo total del trabajo.
Se requiere de consideración y planificación cuidadosa antes de que podamos avanzar. Ésta es la
razón por la que la participación de todos Uds., nuestros feligreses, es de la máxima
importancia en este momento. Sus opiniones y sugerencias nos permitirán formular un plan final
que nos ayudará a cubrir las necesidades de nuestra parroquia entera hoy y también en el futuro. En
las próximas semanas, vamos a colectar información de todos feligreses para determinar el nivel
total de apoyo a los proyectos de reparaciones y renovaciones. También nos gustaría determinar el
nivel anticipado de participación de Uds. y tener una mejor idea del potencial para recaudar fondos
de todos feligreses, especialmente en la actual situación económica.
Hemos contratado a Trinity Consultants, Inc., una empresa católica de recaudación de fondos
reconocida a nivel nacional, para dirigir un estudio de planificación en nuestra parroquia. Esta
compañía está aprobada por la diócesis de Trenton para trabajar con nuestra comunidad. Fueron
escogidos después de una entrevista con miembros del Comité Pastoral de Administración. Ellos
están de acuerdo conmigo que, trabajando con un grupo de consultores podremos lograr nuestra
meta de recaudar fondos y, al mismo tiempo, permitirme continuar enfocándome en el ministerio de
la parroquia.
En el mes que viene, cada familia registrada en el censo parroquial del correo será contactada e
invitada a participar en el estudio. Su opinión y perspectiva son altamente valoradas. Los
miembros de Trinity Consultants harán entrevistas personales y grupos de discusión con individuos
y familias de la parroquia. También se enviará un cuestionario a cada hogar. La participación total
de todos los feligreses es muy importante para tomar decisiones apropiadas.
Invito a cada familia a que participe en el proceso dando su opinión abierta y honesta para que
podamos completar este estudio. Su consejo y sugerencia son bien apreciados mientras avanzamos
con fe. Nuestra parroquia tiene un pasado y un presente impresionantes; ahora tenemos que
encontrar la manera de poder proveer las facilidades que necesitamos para el futuro. Ésta es en
realidad la razón por la cual hacemos el estudio.
