Maintenance Collection
Today’s second collection will be used to do ongoing
maintenance and improvements to the parish buildings
and grounds. All the money collected stays in the parish.

Parish Festival Banner
All parishioners are invited to add their name and
handprint to the 2016 Festival Banner. You can do so
after Mass today. Stop by the Festival Table and a
member of the Planning Committee will assist you. The
Banner will be used during the next four weeks to
promote the Festival. It will hang on the Festival stage
on September 18.
Parroquia Festival Bandera
Todos los feligreses están invitados a agregar su nombre
y huella de la mano a la bandera del Festival del 2016.
Puede hacerlo después de la Misa de hoy. Puede pasar
por la mesa del Festival y los miembros del Comité de

Parish Festival News
Members of the Festival Planning Committee are doing
volunteer signups, and are accepting donations for the
Silent Auction after Mass today. They are also selling
tickets for the Wine Pairing on Friday evening,
September 16. The event titled An Evening in Tuscany
is limited to 100 guests. Tickets cost $35.00 per
person. All this is happening today at the Festival table.

St. Rose of Lima Feast Day on August 23rd
She is the patron saint of our parish and diocese. Born
in Lima, Peru in 1586. She died on August 24th, 1617
as a third order Dominican. She is the first canonized
saint of the Americas. The parish will celebrate its
patron saint at both daily Masses on Tuesday.
Parishioners are encouraged to participate.
Santa Rosa de Lima- Día Festivo, 23 de agosto
Es la patrona de nuestra parroquia y diócesis. Nació en
Lima, Perú en 1586. Murió el 24 de agosto de 1617,
como una Dominicana de tercer orden. Ella es la
primera Santa canonizada de las Américas. La parroquia
celebra sus fiestas patronales en ambas misas el día
martes. Feligreses se animan a participar.
Monthly Memorial Mass
At the 10:30 Mass next Sunday we will remember and
pray for all in the parish who died between July15 and
August 15. The names will be read at the beginning of
the Mass. Their families are invited to the Mass.

vamos a recordar y rezar por todos en la parroquia que

Free Firewood Available
The parish has a large amount of firewood from the
three dead and dying trees that were cut down last
week. The trees were in the area of the B.B.Q pits.
Come and take as much as you want.

Adult Faith Education – Parish Fall Series
The Monday evening series begins September 12 and
ends November 28. Classes will be held in the convent
fireside room from 7:00-8:45 p.m. and will be facilitated
by Fr. Thomas Devereaux and Sr. Olive Murphy. The
series will study Fr. Thomas Raush’s book “Systematic
Theology.” The book can be purchased at Simply Sacred
or Amazon. Flyers with registration forms are at the
church doors and parish office.

Carmelite House of Prayer Benefit Dinner
The 38th Annual Benefit Dinner will take place on the
Monastery grounds at 20 Mt. Carmel Dr. Oakville on
Sunday, September 11th. Social hour and Silent Auction
begins at 2:00 p.m. A buffet style dinner consisting of
B.B.Q tri-tip, side dishes, dessert and Napa Valley fine
wines will be served at 4:00 p.m. Adult tickets are
$50.00. Free hot dog dinner for children 12 and under.

weekdays before 5:00 p.m. Come and enjoy the
beautiful grounds of the Monastery and support
Carmelites.

Many Faiths Together
The interfaith council of Sonoma County is hosting a
gathering, open to all, at Church of the Roses, 2500
Patio Court, Santa Rosa on Sunday, August 28, from
2:30 – 8:00 p.m. Programs for kids, teens and adults.
Workshops from 2:30 – 5P:00 p.m. Group program
from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Vegetarian Potluck Dinner from
6:30-8:00 p.m. Childcare available. The event is free.

Diocesan Mass For The Canonization
Of Blessed Mother Teresa Of Calculta
Pope Francis will declare Mother Teresa a saint of the
church on Sunday, September 4. Our diocese and parish
is gathering in prayer in anticipation of this sacred
event. Bishop Robert Vasa and concelebrating priests
will celebrate a Special Mass at St. Rose this coming
Thursday, August 25th at 6:30 p.m. Catholics from
around the diocese are invited. St. Rose parishioners are
encouraged to attend. Come and be part of this Mass as
we give thanks to God for the beautiful, holy and loving
life of Mother Teresa and ask her prayers for the church
and world. Join us on Thursday evening.
The Sister Antonia Spiritual Enrichment Center
A presentation will take place on the origin & content
of the Spirituality of St. Ignatius, Founder of the Jesuit
Order. This spirituality is based on Scripture & a
personal relationship with Christ. It is an ideal way for
Christians to live their faith while daily engaged in their
busy & distracting world. This is an information
evening. All are welcome & no charge.

Papa Francisco declarará la Madre Teresa, una Santo de
la Iglesia, el domingo 4 de septiembre. Nuestra diócesis
y la parroquia es recogida en oración en previsión de
este evento sagrado. El Obispo Robert Vasa y
celebrantes sacerdotes celebrarán una Misa en Santa
Rosa de Lima el próximo jueves 25 de agosto a 6:30
p.m. católicos de alrededor de la diócesis están invitados. Parroquianos de Santa Rosa se animan a asistir.
Ven y ser parte de esta Misa y dar gracias a Dios por la
