Obispo Cupich Nombrado
Arzobispo de Chicago
El papa Francisco ha nombrado al Obispo
Blase J. Cupich de Spokane, Washington, como
arzobispo de Chicago, siendo sucesor del
Cardenal Francis E. George, quien ha liderado
la arquidiócesis desde 1997.
El nombramiento fue anunciado el 20 de septiembre en Washington por el arzobispo Carlo
Maria Vigano, nuncio apostólico ante Estados
Unidos.
El Arzobispo Cupich será instalado en Chicago el 18 de noviembre.
El Arzobispo Cupich, de 65 años de edad, ha

La Oficina del Ministerio Hispano junto a la Oficina de los Apostolados Étnicos, y el Presidente del
Consejo Pastoral para el Ministerio Hispano de la
Arquidiócesis de Nueva York realizo su primer encuentro con los Presidentes quien representan los
diferentes comités e asociaciones hispanos. El encuentro se realizó el miércoles 17 de septiembre en
los predios del Centro Católico de la Arquidiócesis
de Nueva York.
El encuentro tuvo como punto principal, el de la
coordinación de las diferentes Misas en la Catedral
de San Patricio como también en la organización de la
Pastoral Hispana que se va desarrollando en las diferentes comunidades y parroquias. “Este encuentro nos
ayudará a unirnos como una comunidad de fe, y establecer un trabajo común con nuestras comunidades hispanas,” dijo Wanda Vasquez, Directora del Ministerio
Hispano. El Padre Brian McWeeney, Director de los Apostolados Étnicos dijo, “Este encuentro es para efectivamente
colaborar con todos los Presidentes de nuestros comités hispanos, promover la devoción mariana en nuestras
