Here are some Mother’s
Day reflecƟons that I have
collected over the years
My Mother's best advice
was this: do not marry for looks, looks will fade
over the years, and it's the personality you are
le with.
My mother taught me that I can always make do
with what I have.
My mother taught me that when people lash out
at me, it's only because they are hur ng and frustrated.
My mother taught me to look for the man that
was truly interested in me, instead of the man I
had to chase down.
My mother taught me that foul language makes
the speaker sound ignorant and coarse, while a
full vocabulary brings tact and clarity.
My mother taught me that books were the best
and cheapest way to travel the world.
My mother taught me that the best way to end
arguments around the dinner table is to smile
and squish pudding through your teeth.
when I was 17, I dropped out of school and was
just lying around the house for a long me. One
day mom said "well, you'll have to start paying
rent or leave." I was hurt and angry as only a
teenager could be and didn't speak to her for a
week or two. Eventually, I got a job, paid rent
and even bought and paid for a brand new car a
few years later. I look back and am so grateful
that my mother had taken a "tough love" stance
and taught me that the world doesn't owe me a
living.

El mejor consejo de mi Madre fue el siguiente: no
te cases por la belleza, la belleza se irá con los años,
y la personalidad es la que se queda.
Mi madre me enseño que podía salir adelante con
lo que tuviera.
Mi madre me enseñó que cuando la gente arremete contra mí, es porque están las mados y frustrados.
Mi madre me enseñó a buscar el hombre que estuviese realmente interesado en mí, en vez de buscar
un hombre que lo tuviera que estar persiguiendo.
Mi madre me enseñó que un lenguaje grosero,
hace que el sonido sea ignorante y vulgar,
mientras que un vocabulario completo es
delicado y claro.
Mi madre me enseñó que los libros eran la forma
más barata y mejor de viajar por el mundo.
Mi madre me enseñó que la mejor forma de
terminar con las discusiones a la hora de comer es
sonreír y mostrar comida en tus dientes.
Cuando tenía 17, deje la escuela y estuve durante
mucho empo en la casa sin hacer nada. Un día mi
mama me dijo "bueno, tendrás que comenzar a pagar la renta o tendrás que irte." Me sen muy mal y
me enoje, reacción pica de un adolescente. No le
hable como por una o dos semanas. Al paso del
empo, conseguí un trabajo, pague la renta y compre un coche nuevo años más tarde. Veo hacia
atrás y estoy muy agradecido de que mi madre tuvo
un "amor duro" en ese momento y porque me enseño que el mundo no puede mantenerme.

Auditorium improvements
Thanks to all who helped with the fight night.
Personally, I fell asleep during the fight and
was happy when it ended. We grossed
$1,023.14 minus about $200 in food preparation etc., —a lot less than Mayweather and
Pacquiao earned! I believe everyone enjoyed
the large audience atmosphere that our big
screen and auditorium provided. Those who
attended spoke enthusiastically about its use
for future events: Friday Night Movies, Sports,
etc.
