Message from Msgr. Schwanger
My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,
Next Sunday we will celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, the
Holy Body and Blood of Christ!
This day invites us to enter more deeply into Christ’s gift of Himself for
our salvation and His continuing presence with us through and in the
Eucharist. At the Last Supper our Lord established the Eucharist as the
saving memorial of His Passion. Nourishing the faithful by this sacred
mystery He makes us holy, filling us with His life-giving presence.
The celebration of Sunday Mass, then, is the source and summit of our
life in Christ. Here He makes us one with Him and with each other
as we experience even now the fruits of our salvation. We extend and
deepen this intimate union through Eucharistic Adoration.
Adoration of our Lord during our Holy Hours strengthens our unity
and confirms us in faith. There we find the courage to trust the Lord’s
love for us and to allow Him to mold us and the way we live.
It is no coincidence that we have Perpetual Adoration here at Our Lady
of Lourdes. Coming to Christ in His Body and Blood is one of the
fruits of a true devotion to Mary.
Indeed, the Corpus Christi Procession and Eucharistic Adoration are
part and parcel of the ministry at the Sanctuary of Lourdes. It is also
part and parcel of the ministry here at Lourdes, Miami.
This year we open our celebration of Corpus Christi with 40 Hours
Devotion in honor of Archbishop Wenski’s 40th anniversary as a priest
and pray for his intentions. We will close the 40 Hours Devotion with
Mass and our annual
Corpus Christi Procession. I also invite each and every one
of us to renew our yearly commitment to the Holy Hour.
To have the chance to enter into Christ through His Body and Blood,
at Mass and in Adoration, is a supreme blessing. To bring our loved
ones into His presence through our prayer is a supreme act of love. It is
for that reason that we offer our 40 Hours Devotion for the intentions
of the Archbishop and it is for that reason that we pray a Holy Hour
each week for the intentions of our parish family.
Let us embrace and celebrate this beautiful day with a grateful and
faithful heart.

Mi Querida Familia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes,
El próximo domingo celebraremos la solemnidad de Corpus Christi,
¡el Santo Cuerpo y Sangre de Cristo!
Este día nos invita a entrar más profundamente en el don de Cristo de
sí mismo para nuestra salvación y su presencia continua con nosotros a
través de y en la Eucaristía. En la Ultima Cena nuestro Señor estableció
la Eucaristía como el memorial de Su Pasión salvadora. Nutriendo
a los fieles con este misterio sagrado Él nos santifica, nos llena de su
presencia vivificante. La celebración de la Misa dominical, entonces, es
la fuente y cumbre de nuestra vida en Cristo.
Aquí Él nos hace uno con Él y entre sí a medida que experimentamos
incluso ahora los frutos de nuestra salvación. Ampliamos y
profundizamos esta unión íntima a través de la Adoración Eucarística.
Adorar a nuestro Señor durante nuestra Hora Santa fortalece nuestra
unidad y nos confirma en la fe. Allí encontramos el valor para confiar
en el amor del Señor por nosotros y para permitirle que nos forme a
nosotros y la
forma en que vivimos.
No es casualidad que tenemos Adoración Perpetua aquí en Nuestra
Señora de Lourdes. El venir a Cristo en Su Cuerpo y Sangre es uno de
los frutos de una verdadera devoción a María.

De hecho, la Procesión de Corpus Christi y la Adoración Eucarística
son parte integrante del ministerio en el Santuario de Lourdes.
También es parte integrante del ministerio aquí en Lourdes, Miami.
Este año abrimos nuestra celebración de Corpus Christi con
40 Horas de Devoción en honor al 40 aniversario del Arzobispo
Wenski como sacerdote y rezamos por sus intenciones. Vamos a cerrar
la dedicación de las 40 horas con Misa y nuestra procesión anual de
Corpus Christi. También invito a todos y cada uno de nosotros a
renovar nuestro compromiso anual para la Hora Santa.
Es una bendición suprema tener la oportunidad de entrar en Cristo a
través de Su Cuerpo y Sangre, en la Misa y en la Adoración. Llevar a
nuestros seres queridos a Su presencia a través de nuestra oración es

Archbishop Wenski’s Priesthood
Ordination
Archbishop Wenski will be celebrating his 40th Anniversary of his Priesthood Ordination.
Our Parish will offer him 40 hours of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament for his intentions as our
anniversary gift. The 40 hours Devotion will begin with a prayer service on Friday, May 27 at 2:00am
in the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes. Ministries and all parishioners are invited to offer an hour of
prayer and singing if they wish, for the Archbishop.
Please contact Msgr. Schwanger or Cristina Fernandez if you want to
offer prayer as a group and help us give this gift to the Archbishop.

Several times each year North American Lourdes Volunteers and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church are committed to bring and help
people with special needs, on oxygen or kidney dialysis, with infusion or feeding pumps, in manual or motorized wheelchairs to the
Grotto of Lourdes in France, where Saint Bernadette witnessed the apparitions of the Immaculate Conception with messages of hope,
faith and endless grace.
The journeys of these pilgrims are only possible because of the services of dedicated lay and medical volunteer teams from all over the
world who help those in need with their travel to the Grotto, baths, processions and accommodations.
¡Usted puede ser parte de esta sagrada experiencia!
Los Voluntarios de Norteamérica y la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes están comprometidos, varias veces al año, a llevar y ayudar
a personas con oxígeno o con diálisis, con infusión o bombas de alimentación, en sillas de ruedas ya sean manual o motorizadas, hacia
la Gruta de Lourdes en Francia, donde Santa Bernadette testificó de la aparición de Nuestra Señora de la Inmaculada Concepción, con
mensajes de esperanza, fe y gracias infinitas.
Los viajes de estos peregrinos son solo posibles a través de los servicios dedicados de equipos de voluntarios médicos y laicos desde todas
partes del mundo quienes ayudan a aquellos en necesidad en sus viajes a la Gruta, los baños, procesiones y alojamientos.
