I2 A:
Que bien nos lo pasamos trabajando en el cole. Ya está aquí el otoño y hemos
aprendido un montón de cosas sobre él: se caen las hojas, su color, el tiempo que
hace, los animalitos que hay en esta estación...
Lo estamos trabajando de muchas maneras. Lo primero es decorar la clase
todos participamos en esta bonita actividad: pintamos preciosas hojas de otoño,
hacemos un bonito mural,….
Hemos salido al jardín y hemos observado como se han caído las hojas, su
color, como se quedan los árboles, …. Todas esas cositas que la profe nos ha contado en clase las hemos podido ver nosotros mismos. ¡¡¡¡COMO MOLA!!!!
Hemos aprovechado nuestra visita al jardín y hemos recogido las
hojas que se han caído para hacernos un divertido disfraz.

I2 A:
Los alimentos han sido una unidad didáctica muy divertida, hemos
aprendido el nombre de un montón de ellos, fish, ice-cream, cherries,
watermelon,….
Los flash card han sido muy importantes. Todas las mañanas nuestra
profe nos lo enseñaba y a nosotros nos encantaba decir su nombre. Un
vocabulario muy importante que luego hemos usado en el rincón de la
cocinita cuando preparábamos nuestra comida.
Hemos hecho un montón de talleres, fue muy divertido hacer un riquísimo plato de macarrones, usando pegamento y pintura de color roja,
parecían de verdad ¡¡¡¡DELICIOUS!!!!
Otro día preparamos un rica Macedonia de frutas, fue fácil nosotros
trocemos la fruta y la juntamos en una bandeja muy grande, nos la
llevamos para merendar en casa e invitar a nuestros papás.
Durante el mes de noviembre hemos trabajado el
color BLUE.
Nos encanta utilizar diferentes técnicas, así aprendemos
de forma más divertida.
Creamos “la clase azul”, haciendo un montón de trabajos
decorativos de ese color con pintura de dedos, plastidecor,
… Nos gusta trabajar con la plastilina azul, hacemos muchas figuras graciosas con los moldes.
Hemos hecho una “Blue box” con juguetes que todos
hemos traído de casa. Nos encanta jugar con ellos, son
muy divertidos y así aprendemos a compartir nuestras
cosas con los demás.
En el mes de diciembre hemos trabajado la Navidad. Con
el esfuerzo de todos hemos ido decorando la clase. Lo
primero que hicimos fue un árbol de navidad, que bien lo
pasamos. Entre todos pintamos con rodillos un bonito
árbol verde. Los peques disfrutaron un montón. También
hicimos, de forma individual, una preciosa bola para decorar el árbol con pinturas y purpurina.

Las
clases
de
3
años
A los niños de I 2B nos encanta ir al colegio
porque aprendemos muchas cosas, bailamos,
cantamos pero lo que más nos gusta es JUGAR.
Jugar a nuestra edad es muy importante porque es con la actividad que más aprendemos;”aprendemos sin darnos cuenta de que
estamos aprendiendo”.

en la vida real. Nos encanta jugar a las casitas
imitando a papa y mama, al cole imitando a la
profe, a los médicos imitando al doctor….

En este proceso utilizamos al máximo nuestra
imaginación, jugando constantemente en el
límite entre lo real y lo imaginario, lo cual nos
ayuda a crear representaciones mentales que
serán de gran ayuda para resolver situaciones
futuras en nuestra vida. El lenguaje y el habla
acompañan el juego, ya que mientras interpretamos estamos hablando y compartiendo nuestras fantasías con otros niños, por lo que además fomentamos nuestra sociabilización.
Aquí nos podéis ver jugando a las cocinitas y a los papis. Nos lo pasamos fenomenal poniendo la mesa, repartiendo los cubiertos, los platos, las comidas y alguno/as imitamos a la profe dando de comer a los más lentos…..”Hay que comer solitos, chicos”.
Julia y Paola son las que imitaban a la profe y los demás niños éramos los que nos teníamos que comer “todo, todo”, mientras
que otros niños como Adela o Héctor jugaban a darle el biberón al bebe o limpiarles el culete.
Es uno de los momentos del día que más nos gusta puesto que podemos desarrollar nuestra imaginación, nos dejan jugar y
expresarnos libremente sin que nadie nos interrumpa nuestro juego. Disfrutamos mientras jugamos y aprendemos un valor
muy importante que

Todos cantamos
¡¡¡¡¡¡QUE MIEDOOOOO!!!!!! Ya va llagando halloween
y los niños de la clase de I2 B queremos que paséis
mucho miedo por eso hemos decorado la clase con
muchos fantasmas, brujas, gatos negros, monstruos,
calabazas……… Para asustar a papa y a mama hemos
hecho unas caretas de brujas que nos han quedado
“terroríficas” y nos los hemos pasado fenomenal asustando a los amigos y a la profe Marta.
Lo primero que hemos hecho ha sido colorear la careta de bruja con ceras de diferentes colores, luego
hemos puesto cola y hemos pegado purpurina de diferentes colores para que quedara más bonita y brillante y por ultimo le hemos pegado un palito para poder
sujetarla y colocárnoslas en la carita.
Todos nos hemos puesto las caretas para asustar a los
demás niños y juntos hemos bailado la canción: Go
away big green monster, go away, go away!!! que nos
encanta y nos la sabemos muy bien.
Por fin ha llegado el dia de Halloween y hemos venido
disfrazados al colegio, unos de vampiros, otros de
fantasmas, calabazas, brujas y hemos hecho una fiesta de miedooooo! y hemos pasado por todas las clases para asustar a
nuestros compañeros y al resto de profesores.

En la clase de I2 B estamos trabajando el tema de los alimentos y por ello preparamos un taller de cocina e hicimos un bizcoinglés.

huevos, de ello se encargaron Alvaro, Ines, Iciar, Paola y Adela. Lo pasaron en grande cascando los huevos y

azúcar (un vasito de yogurt aprox). Todos participaron en poner el azúcar y removerlo para que

de poner la harina y remover con mucha fuerza para que no se hicieran grumos.

- 4º una cuchara grande de aceite. Entre todos echamos el aceite y removimos con fuerza….la masa de nuestro bizcocho ya estaba preparada y listo para meter en el horno. (180º durante 45 minutos aprox).
Nos encanto probar la masa del bizcocho y aunque
estuviera cruda estaba….deliciosaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Pero lo
mas divertido fue pringarnos y jugar a ser cocineros.
Después de una hora en el horno, nos comimos nuestro bizcocho que estaba riquisimooooo…(aunque se
nos había quemado un poquito). También en casa
podemos hacer muchas recetas para que ellos participen, estaban encantados con la experiencia.
Diciembre, es un mes muy especial para todos nosotros porque llegan unas fiestas muy importantes y
bonitas que son las Navidades.
Todos juntos hemos decorado la clase con diferentes
figuras, objetos y motivos navideños y hasta hemos
hecho un arbolito de navidad con sus bolas.

importantes y más productivos que los juguetes y que todos debemos de ser buenos y generosos con los demás.
Aquí se nos ve haciendo los regalitos con pintura de dedos y esponjas. Para que quedara muy bonito luego le hemos pegado
papel celofán para hacer el lazo y nos ha quedado
“precioso”: Iciar, Inés y Paola han elegido un mensaje
de paz y amor; Hector, Roman y Ginebra la salud; Fran,
Alvaro y Julia el respeto a los demás; Rocio, Daniel,
Valle y Alberto el compañerismo; Jose Luis y Adela la
solidaridad.
Este trabajito lo hemos hecho con mucha ilusión y lo
hemos hecho para todos los niños que sufren dolor.

One of the things we learnt in October was to
trace number 1. Everyone could name and
recognice the number and before tracing it on
our worksheets with a pencil, we practise with
plasticine doing the trace on our table! It was a
lot of fun and all of us did it really well! Look!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Something strange was happening with the weather! It
started to get colder earlier in the mornings, clouds were
covering the sky, the wind was blowing, little raindrops
started to fall and beautiful leaves fell down all over the
ground until it turned yellow, brown, orange and red!
Autumn has come!
So I3A decided to decorate the corridor with a beautiful
Autumn landscape. As you can see Ale and Eugenia are
trying really hard!
For some days we were working on fairy tales and stories,
without any doubt our favorourite one was Cinderella! We
were very happy because we were going to the theatre! As
you can see in the picture we all behaved like big boys and
girls and sat down very quietly while we were waiting for
the play to start! Like Javi, Santi and Julián we all enjoyed
it very much!

for us. It was our first month at school and we were just three years old! Although at the
beginning
we arrived at school feeling a bit scared and nervous, we found the reading corner a good place to relax, share

stories and emotions with others.
The Reading Corner is a place to enjoy the art
of the reading. We like to feel comfortable
when we are looking, touching and reading a
book, so this is the reason why we have a
sofa, mattresses and cushions around it. We
know that we have to take care of all books so
that they can be used every day. It is because
of this, when we finish reading a book, that we
need to put it back in its place.
At first it was a bit difficult to know how to use
it properly. Some books were twice as big as
us! But little by little we are learning and
taking
responsibility
to
take
care
of
everything.
We like the Reading Corner and find it a
place of tranquility and enjoyment.

On the 23rd of September Autumn arrived in our class! At first we
had a lot of questions about what had happened during this season

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
On the 5th of November it was the day of Bonfire night. We
did not know what that day meant, so we tried to explain it
with a theatre. Guy Fawkes told us his whole story.
We
created a real atmosphere, we turned off the light and we
lit 5 little candles. All the kids were so surprised by the
theatre, it was an attractive activity. In fact we used at the
same time the white board to show them the sound and
colours of the fireworks! And at the end of the theatre we decided to have our own fireworks in class.
WE KNEW WHAT HAPPENED THIS DAY THROUGH AN ATTRACTIVE, DIFFERENT AND AMAZING TOOL!!

We are starting to grow up, so we are starting to discover how the things around us
are, and realize that things have a shape!!! But how we can we learn this new
concept??: SHAPES!!.
First of all we decided to give a colour to every shape! Each table made a different
shape with a different colour. We used glue, magazines, scissors and a lot of
illusion!
We were so happy when we learnt the different shapes, that
….. after that we showed it to all our partners!

Salimos a contar nuestras experiencias delante de nuestros compañeros para ir reduciendo esa vergüenza que nos entra cuando hablamos en público.
Somos mayores y poco a poco vamos sabiendo hablar delante de los demás.
Cada día nos toca a uno diferente y mejoramos a lo largo de las semanas...
Durante el primer trimestre conocimos la casa y las diferentes partes.
Vimos de cerca muebles, armarios, cocinas, dormitorios... nos encantó
cocinar en casa y traerlo a clase para compartir con los demás. En clase
pegamos cositas dentro del mueble que podéis observar en la foto. Divertidísimo…

Mateos parents paid a visit to the class and
helped us to make some great hats and
gave us some goodies. The hats were quite
difficult to make but fully worth the effort as

I4 B:
We had our first tutorial in class. We talked about
ourselves. The children had to stand up in the circle
and talk about their favourite things and
themselves. We then coloured the star.
Here we are making Xmas bells and drawings from
the theatre. There we are playing reading games in
groups.
En este mes hemos trabajado el color marrón
y para aprender a identificarlo hemos hecho
muchas actividades. Un día nos fuimos a ver
las dependencias del “cole” para buscar y
nombrar todas las cosas de color marrón que
veíamos. Otro día en la clase escondimos objetos de color marrón y a la voz de “marrón!”
todos los niños tuvieron que ir a buscarlos y
por último estuvimos pintando con pinceles y
pintura de dedos los troncos de los árboles del
otoño que son Marrrones!!!!.

I4 C:
This month we have been blending the sounds we already know. We place
the cards on a black mat, with the vowels and consonants required.
On the whiteboard the teacher draws an object and we write the letters to
make a word.
It’s our first time working in pairs. Co-operation is important because we
gather information from everyone and we get to know each other in a
better way.
La primera letra que
hemos empezado a trabajar este curso es la letra
U. En clase nos han enseñado que es el Rey y que
le encanta comer Uvas.
Estos meses no sólo vamos a aprender a diferenciarla de otras letras si no
que también vamos a
aprender a escribirla, para
ello utilizamos los pinchitos, hacemos murales con
papel continuo y escribimos en la pizarra interactiva.

Que nervios hemos pasado, con la vuelta al cole!!!! Hemos
venido con muchas ganas de contar todo lo que hemos hecho
durante las vacaciones cada uno contamos lo que hicimos y
todos hemos estado en la playa!!!!
El primer día después de hacer la asamblea, hicimos carteles
con nuestros nombres para ponerlos en las mesas, e identificar
nuestros sitios, María nos ha dejado hacerlo como hemos querido, con rotuladores, ceras, pegatinas…
María sacó una cámara de fotos un poco extraña, sacaba la
foto en el mismo momento que hacía la foto, y nosotros con
magia conseguíamos que saliese la imagen… cuando ya teníamos la foto de todos nosotros hicimos un mural de la clase….¡Nos lo pasamos muy bien el primer día de clase!
To celebrate ‘Columbus Day’, the occupants of 5 A
created a beautiful picture of the boat that set sail in
1492 to discover the new world. The story really shook
Amanda’s imagination and that night she went home to
start building her very own discovery boat. We all
thought that it was a rather an overblown idea until we
received news from the BBC that Amanda had indeed
set sail on the seven seas to conquer a land of her own.
She managed to cross the channel but unfortunately
ended up in a little town called Portsmouth on the south
coast of England. Never one to give up she eventually
managed to take over the small seaside town and is
awaiting recruits for her new kingdom…
Witches hats on, brooms and fangs at the ready, the
scary occupants of 5A set off to ‘trick or treat’ the
residents of Aravaca. Unfortunately Miss Maria’s rather
‘home-made’ outfit didn’t quite cut it with the rest of the
group and she was sent home to find something with a little bit more ‘bite’. Amongst other memorable happenings, the two
Jorges were arrested by the police for carrying ‘sharp-looking objects’. They were later released on bail. The five witches didn’t
quite realise the potential of their broomsticks and
ended up in Pozuelo where they managed to scare
enough residents into handing over three lollipops, five
gobstoppers and an assortment of candies. Dracula
and his band of skeletons weren’t quite so lucky since
they took a wrong turn and got lost coming out of the
school. They eventually returned with a packet of
crisps and a rather old-looking peece of chocolate
which was keenly fought over upon their return. The
local Chinese shop has issued a statement that the
shop was robbed by a gang of scary thugs. No one
was able to assist with the inquiry… All in all, a great
success!

I5:
Este año hemos empezado a llevar a cabo el Plan de
Acción Tutorial, son sesiones que tenemos con nuestra
tutora todos juntos, lo empezamos a hacer desde que
tenemos 3 años hasta que seamos muy mayores…. En
este 1ºT hemos hecho tres sesiones. En esta primera
María nos explico que trataban estas tutorías o como lo
llamamos nosotros “las Asambleas diferentes” y por eso
hicimos por grupos una estrella, para que cada vez que
nos toque tutoría, María la pondrá en la pizarra, y así
sabremos que nos toca tutoría.
A lo largo de este trimestre hemos hecho 3 sesiones,
Bienvenidos, Cargos y encargos y Cuestionario para
saber.
After hearing about the activities in 5B on Bonfire
Night the residents of 5A decided that it was their
turn to exhibit works of art to mark the famous
English festival. It was no easy feat considering the
whole palaver over who would be the guy and the
fact that it had fallen to the unfortunate Ramón to
take up the task. However Mario, Carmen and
Sergi bravely stepped out into the corridor to
display their work. Mario could feel the pressure
and looked hastily for the nearest exit whilst
Carmen seemed a little less concerned, probably
due to the fact that she knew no one would mess
with her whilst she had possession of the beloved
monkey.
Unfortunately
Sergi
just
couldn’t
remember what had happened… A similar
misfortune looked to beset an innocent Sergi.
What excitement as we boarded the bus for our termly
trip to the theatre! The onboard entertainment left
much to be desired as Sergio Armenta’s attempts to
crack a few of his so called ‘hilarious’ jokes fell on deaf
ears. Angie was particularly unimpressed by the joke
about the chicken that crossed the road… Fortunately
the journey was short lived and before we knew it we
were being ushered inside the busy theatre and shown
to our seats. The lights dimmed and a strange looking
fellow appeared to introduce us to the story of
Cinderella. It was quite an ingenious performance and
we have taken notes for our own performance in the
months to come. There were some aspects that will
require reviewing and Sergio made it clear that he was
not in total agreement with the cut of Cinderella’s dress
but all in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience!

Los alumnos de cinco años hemos aprendido como
construir una casa, sabemos que materiales se usa

se pueda construir: arquitectos, albañiles, fontaneros, electricistas.
En casa con la ayuda de nuestros padres hemos podido construir nuestra propia casa!. Los alumnos han
utilizado muchos materiales como galletas, cartulina,
coches de juguetes, piñas, cajas de cartón…
Queremos daros a todos la enhorabuena por vuestro
trabajo porque han quedado geniales y muy originales. Buen trabajo!!
We have begun to partake in monthly meetings in
which we discuss current and personal affairs. It is a
great opportunity to get to know each other better,
share our views, resolve problems and generally get
things off our chests. Marta here begins the meeting
by bringing up the topic of her mother’s visit to
London. This was, of course, of the highest interest
to us as London is such a fantastic city! We all made
a promise that we would visit London at some point
(preferably sooner than later) to put our high level of
English into practise. We use the star in the
background to indicate that the time has come for
the meeting. We will decorate the star during the
course with our names and pictures in order to
demonstrate the bond of companionship and
importance of cooperation.
A small group consisting of a mixture of rascals from 5A and
5B find it highly amusing to push the swimming monitor into
the deep end, shoes and all. They make a quick break for it
and manage to escape the clutches of the remaining monitors,
until they reach the changing rooms and the figure of a
fuming Miss Ana. Nacho unfortunately does not heed the
advice of his friends and his joyous gloating of the writhing
monitor in the pool seals his fate as he is set upon by a reliant
mob of his own classmates. Ah, the joys of the swimming
pool….

Después de aprender la letra “D” hemos aprendido el
sonido y la grafía de la letra “T” nosotros la conocemos
como la doctora “T” pues es la encargada de curar a
todos los enfermos del país de letrilandia.
Para practicar su grafía los alumnos de cinco años nos
hicieron en sus casas la letra “T” con diferentes materiales: Flores secas, macarrones, lana, caramelos…
The boys proudly display their work of art for Guy
Fawks. It was quite a feat in the end, painting the
cards black before drawing on the shapes of fireworks
exploding in the night sky and finishing them off with
sparkling glitter. It seemed to be quite a success.
However Ramón couldn’t quite get over the feeling that
something just wasn’t quite right. ‘What was it the
actually happens on this day?’, he asks himself. ‘I’m
sure it’s not just about fireworks…’. ‘There’s some sort
of Guy who the children put in a trolley and wheel him
around the town asking for a penny. Then they make a
fire and…’. The awful truth about what is about to
happen suddenly dawns on Ramón as Sergio, Cohen
and Jorge prepare to show the class what REALLY
happens on Bonfire Night…
It’s that time of year again when the land is covered
by beautiful sheets of snow, young children eagerly
await the arrival of Santa (their presents), groups of
boys and girls reel off carol after carol to the delight of
the
neighbours,
airline
passengers
spend
a
comfortable night’s sleep in the airport awaiting news
of the flights and, of course, the happy occupants of
5B descend upon their classroom in what it has
recently become to be known as ‘operation
decoration’. Here we have one of many joyous scenes
in which the busy bees set about transforming the four
bare walls of the room into something quite magical.
Whilst Alejandro and María take care of the tree, not
quite in agreement as to which colour of tinsel should
adorn the branches, on the other side of the room
Ramón carefully aligns the drapes of paper chains,
making sure that all the angles are in direct and
consistent correlation, whilst in the middle of the hive
Sergio mistakenly hears the word ‘pose’ and assumes
the position…

1º EPO:
En 1º para decorar nuestra clase y aprender a la vez hemos hecho un abecededario. Cada uno pinta algunas letras de madera de diferentes colores. Para
ello utilizamos pinceles y rodillos.
Después de pintar lo pegamos en un mural de papel
continuo, en el orden correcto de las letras, que también decoramos. Por
último lo ponemos en la clase,
así podremos verlo todos los días y sentirnos orgullosos de nuestro trabajo. Durante la actividad los niños
han estado muy concentrados
para hacerlo
muy bien. Les ha encantado. Para ellos es una forma muy divertida
de aprender.
2º EPO:
Well, we’ve finished our first month and a half and we’ve been busy
decorating our classroom, getting to know our new classmates and
renewing friendships from last year. We have already celebrated two
birthdays, Angela’s and Camilla’s and we are looking forward to
celebrating many more. Our class mascot this year is Froggy and we
are called the “Hoppy Helpers” as we intend to help in our class.
Columbus Day. On Columbus Day we celebrated the discovery of The Americas by making
a special “Christopher Columbus Ship in a Bottle”. Our ships were on display in the
entrance hall of the primary school for a week and everyone at school thought they were
great. Here you can see Angela and Alfonso with their project.

INVESTIGATE! How
your lungs work.
Our group, 4º Epo, is
learning about
breathing and
circulation. We did an
investigation about
how our lungs work. With a plastic bottle, two
balloons and two tubes we learn how our lungs work
during the process of inhaling, the lungs get bigger
and fill with air and exhaling, the lungs get smaller
and the air come out.
They were all really happy and proud to show their
work.
5º EPO:
My first day at school was fantastic and exciting, for me it has been a big change because also it’s a new city.
This means that everything is new and unknown.
I have met a few children, new people and new place where I’m going to be for a long time. The first day I was very
nervous, because I didn’t know anybody but my surprise was that my classmates were very funny, and they were like me. At
the end of the day, I was very happy because I made a lot of friends. I went to sleep wishing to go back to school the next

My school is Internacional Aravaca and I like my new school because we do a lot of different and funny things.
We play games in the whiteboard, we have c typing class, we do interesting things in i.t class...

Primaria Octubre:
1º EPO:
CURSO DE EDUCACIÓN VIAL: Durante las últimas 4
semanas nos visitaron agentes de policía del departamento de tráfico para darnos clases de SEGURIDAD VIAL. Cada una de las clases
especiales duró 60 minutos por la mañana en la primera hora. Los
agentes vinieron con sus uniformes ¡eran tan chulos! Nos gustaron
mucho. A l principio nos quedamos un poco cortados, porque nunca
hemos conocido a un agente de policía en persona, pero con el tiempo nos relajamos porque los agentes eran muy simpáticos.
Los agentes nos explicaron cómo comportarse en la calle dónde hay
tráfico de vehículos, como y donde podemos cruzar la carretera,
como sentarnos seguros en el coche o en el autobús y muchas cosas
más. Hemos trabajado con cuadernos de Educación Vial, leyendo y
coloreando. Al final del curso todos hemos conseguido DIPLOMAS DE
EDUCACIÓN VIAL.
SONORIZAMOS UN CUENTO: En 1º hemos conocido los instrumentos de
pequeña percusión y el carillón. Nos han contado la historia de cómo hace muuuchos muchos años, en una pequeña aldea de África,
el Cielo y la Tierra estaban separados, y con la ayuda de una niña
llamada Majura lograron separarse. Cada personaje del cuento: Majura, la Tierra, las nubes… representaban un instrumento y cada
vez que se nombraba al personaje sonaba su instrumento con un
ritmo que habíamos aprendido anteriormente. Hemos aprendido la
razón por la que la Tierra y el Cielo están tan separados y además
nos hemos imaginado y hemos puesto sonido a todos los personajes.
¡¡Tocar los instrumentos y escuchar esta historia ha sido
muy divertido!!
2º EPO:
Swimming. We have started to go to swimming lessons
and we are all having a great time.
Every Thursday we jump on a bus with Mr. Yanko and we’re off to the
swimming pool. Mr. Yanko told us to enjoy ourselves but not to get our
swimming trunks wet, he was only Joking
of course!!!!.
Este año en Halloween lo hemos pasado
muy muy bien!! Varios días antes de la
fiesta hemos estado preparando toda la
decoración para que cuando llegara el día
estuviera todo perfecto!! Decoramos
todo el cole con fantasmas hecho de servilletas y en el hall pusimos todo los trabajos manuales que realizamos: CD’s decorados como
calabazas, frankesteins con latas de refrescos, brujas hechas con bombillas, arañas con cartones de huevos…. Todos hicieron un trabajo fantástico, y, lo más importante, los alumnos disfrutaron mientras decoraban, manipulaban diferentes materiales y experimentaban diversas
técnicas de trabajo. El resultado del trabajo y la diversión fue inmejorable. En esta foto podemos ver a Addie, de 2º de Primaria con unos simpáticos fantasmitas en un cementerio. Quedaron de miedo!!!Para terminar nuestra semana de Halloween hicimos una fiesta!!! Todos vinieron disfrazados, pudimos ver
unos disfraces muy originales. El colegio se convirtió en un espacio compartido por zombies, fantasmas, hombres lobos… no
faltó de nada!! Además, trajeron todo lo necesario para no pasar desapercibidos: laca de pelo de colores, pinturas de caras
para simular heridas, cicatrices, ojeras…. Estuvimos cantando canciones típicas de halloween y hasta nos atrevimos a balar
“thriller” de Michael Jackson!! Un día inolvidable….

Primaria Octubre:
3º EPO:
Para celebrar el día de Columbus Day estuvimos hablando
de Cristóbal Colón y de sus viajes a América. La mayoría de los niños ya
conocían la historia así que entre todos pudimos recordarla. Hablamos de
quien era Cristóbal Colón, quienes le acompañaron, como se llamaban las
carabelas, etc… El 3er ciclo de Ed. Primaria hicieron unos mapas con los
que se veía muy bien el recorrido que hicieron.
Los niños de 3º de Primaria representaron las 3 carabelas navegando por
el mar: La Pinta, La Niña y la Santa María. Lo hicieron con una cartulina
doblada por la mitad, después dibujaron los 3 barcos y los pegaron en
relieve. Por último
solo tenían que
hacer la decoración: el mar, el cielo, las olas, pájaros…. Lo hicieron en muy poquito
tiempo porque todos se dedicaron plenamente a esta manualidad, todos
lo hicieron muy bien y estaban muy participativos y entusiasmados, y
además, aprendimos un poquito más sobre el descubrimiento de América (fechas, personajes, historia…).
Once a week, during four weeks we had a visit from the Police who
talked to us about the rules on the road. They gave us workbooks and
showed us videos, talked to us and played with us. It was great fun and
we learned how to behave when we are out and about in traffic or on the
sidewalk. Hopefully they will come back again next year and show us
some more.
4º EPO:
En la clase de Lengua, hemos hecho una actividad llama-
da “Aprendo a recitar una poesía”. Es muy bonita y la poesía se llama
“La estrella” y es del poeta Juan Ramón Jiménez, Miss Mar, dice que es
uno de los mejores escritores. Ha sido muy divertido, primero hemos
copiado la poesía, Miss Mar la ha recitado, luego la hemos escuchado por
el ordenador, con voz masculina y femenina, y por último la hemos recitado nosotros.

attending our big

backyard. Once in
the backyard of the school we did apple bobbing and some haunted
attractions and committing pranks. It was so much fun.
5º EPO:
En clase de lengua, hemos aprendido que para recitar
una poesía, hay que poner empeño y cariño. Cuándo se recita, hay que
respetar puntos y comas y también poner la acentuación adecuada. La
poesía que hemos elegido la clase de 5º de primaria ha sido: “Se equivocó la paloma” de Rafael Alberti. Mar, nos ha dicho que es uno de los poetas más importantes, incluso la hemos oído en canción,
pues es tan bonita que más de un cantante le ha puesto música y la ha grabado. Ha sido una actividad interesante. Y ahora,

5º EPO:
In Science´s class we have done a project about
invertebrates in groups. We study that invertebrates have no spine or
internal skeleton. Some protect their bodies with shells or hard skin.
Others have no protection. All invertebrates are oviparous. They are
classified as mollusks, arthropods, worms, porifera, echinoderms,
jellyfish, anemones and corals.
We have learnt a lot and also it was fun. We hope we will do more soon
to learn more.

6º EPO:
In English we have been working on
International food. We learnt many
types of food of different countries.
Year 6 had a brilliant idea…… We
suggested to have an International
breakfast. So we brainstormed all our ideas and brought in lots of delicious
things to eat! It was the best breakfast we have ever had!! There were muffins,
brownies, pancakes, cookies, hot chocolate, orange juice and croissants!
Primaria Noviembre:
2º EPO:
Science is always fun and we have done some interesting things
with Miss Dita in Science class.Here you can see two of our mad scientists,
Nicolás and Eli, studying the benefits that calcium has on our bodies (or maybe
they were just thirsty). In the background you can see another mad scientist,
Pedro, keeping a safe distance (I don’t blame you Pedro). The class was targeted
at demonstrating to the children the importance of dairy products in our diet
and how calcium helps to strengthen our bones. On top of that we all got to
drink some milk and afterwards everyone said that they were feeling much
stronger.
4º, 5º, 6º EPO:
We went to the Corte Ingles. We went by
bus and when we got there we went to the top floor and had
breakfast. We had a juice and a donut.
We learn how they organized things, like the little ones up
front and the big ones in the back. On the basement they had the
power witches and the electricity. They were also the buttons that
controlled the air conditioning.
A worker form the Corte Ingles
showed us how the sprinklers worked and when the air conditioning
turned on, it was a loud sound. It was a man that worked there and he
was in charge or controlling the computers and to see if everything
was working properly. My favorite part was when they showed us
everything in the basement.

19th, we did

Project
called I
have a
name, we
have a
school. To
learn two
very
important rights. The right to have an identity and the right to have a
school education. We all decorated different flowers, because each one of us is important and unique and the we put it together
with the rest, because we all share a school, the International School Aravaca, where we came to learn and to grow.

PROYECTO ASOMARTE:
¿Qué es un retrato? ¿Qué tipos de retratos existen? ¿Por qué Las Meninas
es un cuadro de retratos? Estas son sólo algunas de las preguntas que se plantearon
durante la primera de las tres sesiones que dedicamos, dentro del programa AsomArte,
a Velázquez y su faceta como retratista.
A lo largo de la presentación del primer día con el curso de 4º de EPO pudimos contemplar diferentes reproducciones de pinturas con el tema del retrato como protagonista.
Retratos figurativos, retratos abstractos, retratos cortesanos, autorretratos, retratos
religiosos… Los diferentes artistas, de épocas distintas y maneras diversas de pintar
desfilaban por la pantalla a fin de que los alumnos pudiesen tener una idea global sobre
una cuestión tan amplia como la retratística. También introdujimos brevemente la figura de Velázquez y algunos de los cuadros que veríamos al día siguiente en nuestra visita al Prado.
El rey Felipe IV, su
hijo Baltasar Carlos y
su esposa Mariana
fueron objeto de
atención en nuestro
recorrido por el museo a fin de poner en contexto al auténtico
protagonista de nuestra visita: Las Meninas. Analizamos los
diferentes personajes y el lugar en que fueron retratados; nos
preguntamos sobre qué o a quién podría estar pintando Velázquez en el momento de ser “pillado” in fraganti por él mismo
o de la importancia del ¿espejo? del fondo; también hablamos
de los diversos oficios que desempeñaban algunos de los retratados y los alumnos se sorprendieron de la presencia de los
dos enanos. Por ello fuimos a la sala de los retratos de bufones y enanos para fijarnos, sobre todo, en Sebastián de Morra
y en Calabacillas y explicar a grandes rasgos en qué consistía su labor. El tercer día lo dedicamos, de nuevo en el colegio, a la
realización del taller, que consistió en una primera teatralización con alumnos voluntarios en que cada uno adoptaba la posición
de alguno de los personajes del cuadro de Las Meninas. A continuación y por grupos, se les dieron las figuras recortadas para
que las situaran en la cartulina blanca que actuaba a modo de soporte y de este modo reproducir en 3D el cuadro. El objetivo
fundamental era que aprendieran a manejar con mayor soltura conceptos espaciales (detrás, a la izquierda, a la derecha; primer plano...) ¡Esperamos haberlo conseguido! Lo que sí hemos logrado es que la inmensa curiosidad y entusiasmo desplegados
por los alumnos de 4º nos estimule aún más para seguir trabajando por y para el arte con el proyecto AsomArte.

1º Y 2º EPO:
Christmas Play
“A Mouse at Christmas”
This year 1st and 2nd class joined together to
present their Christmas play. The play was
about a mouse who ate the bellows of a
church organ just before the people of the
village were about to celebrate Christmas Eve.
With no church organ, one villager wrote a
Christmas carol for the guitar and it became
one of our most popular carols, Silent Night.
In music and theatre classes everyone worked
very hard, learning the words to both the
songs Silent Night and A Mouse in Amsterdam,
learning their lines and where to stand. There
was a dance choreographed by Ms. Dita and
the musical production was done by Ms Laura,
working with the children to make sure that
everyone was in tune.
On the day of the play we set out for Moncloa in busses, all dressed up and ready to go, and before we knew it we were getting
ready to go on stage.
1st class was on first and they did a brilliant job, then 2nd class did their part of the play before we all joined up on-stage for
the grand finale. It was a great success and we really hope that our parents enjoyed it.
A special thank you to all of the
parents who organized the children’s
fantastic costumes, everyone looked
really great, and for coming to see us
perform.
Well done to all of our actors, our
choir and of course our mice.

¡Ya está aquí la Navidad! y ahora toca decorar nuestra clase. Los villancicos
están sonando y estamos todos muy contentos de estar juntos celebrando y
decorando la clase para la llegada de la Navidad. ¡Nos lo hemos pasado fenomenal! .

Primaria Diciembre:
3º, 4º, 5º Y 6º EPO:
Ensayos
“A Christmas carol” (3º-4º-5º-6º)
Para esta Navidad nos hemos juntado 3º,4º,5º y 6º y hemos creado un
pequeño musical llamado “A christmas carol”.
En el cuento aparecen varios personajes que son representados por cada
uno de los cursos. 3º representa a los elfos, 4º a Santa Claus y a los renos y 5º y 6º a Santa Claus y Mamá Claus.
La historia nos cuenta cómo Santa Claus llegó a convertirse en repartidor
de regalos y cómo con la ayuda de sus amigos los elfos, los renos y su
bella mujer Mamá Claus, consiguió llegar todos los años a cada rincón del
mundo para poder repartir regalos a todos los niños.
Hemos pasado por África, donde se encontraron los elfos y Santa y juntos
bailaron el “Shay Shay”; por un bosque encantado, donde los elfos, maravillados de la bondad de Santa, bailaron con alegría; y por último, por el
Polo Norte, dónde Santa conoció a Mamá Claus y juntos vivieron felices.
Cantando, bailando, leyendo… Muchas horas de ensayo en las que todos
hemos puesto mucho esfuerzo e ilusión para que todo estuviera listo el
día de la función.
Gracias al esfuerzo que hemos puesto todos en el trabajo, hemos realizado el musical con todo el cariño y buen hacer de nuestros elfos, renos, Santas y Mamás Claus.

FUNCIÓN DE NAVIDAD:
Un año más hemos podido disfrutar con las actuaciones de todos los alumnos
en el FESTIVAL DE NAVIDAD. La representación tuvo lugar el 17 de Diciembre
en el Salón de Actos de la Junta de Moncloa donde los padres pudieron contemplar la ilusión de sus hijos en cada canción. Todos los alumnos recibieron al final un pequeño obsequio del colegio como recuerdo de este momento tan inolvidable para todos.
