SAN ANTONIO ARCHDIOCESAN ST. PADRE PIO PRAYER GROUP HOLY MASS AND PRAYER SERVICE #4 FOR MAY 9, 2015 - 10 AM TO 1 PM “PRAY, HOPE, DON’T WORRY” - “Ora y Espera, No te agites.” I. ROSARY – JOYFUL MYSTERY II. MASS – Saturday of the Fifth Week of Easter / MISA – Sábado de la V semana de Pascua III. SPIRITUAL REFLECTIONS ON ST. PADRE PIO IV. CONFESSION – ENDS BETWEEN NOON AND ONE ROSARY – JOYFUL MYSTERY [Sean Collins] Welcome to the Holy Mass and Fourth Prayer Service for the San Antonio Archdiocesan Saint Padre Pio Prayer Group here at the Shrine of Saint Padre Pio. My name is [Sean Collins]. The group is to serve in prayer the entire Archdiocese at the request of the Archbishop, not just our parish so we have plenty of praying to do. We have a website saspppg.org and will be working on methodology for accepting prayer requests. Your participation in the prayers is important, so after we announce the decade of the rosary, please pray with our lector leading for the special intention listed in the Handout. At the end of our Prayer Service please join in prayer reciting the prayer to Saint Padre Pio written by Saint John Paul II. We have included English and Spanish language versions of the readings. So let’s begin the Rosary using the Joyful Mystery, alternating English to Spanish. At the end of each Decade we will recite the following prayer requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima. Items in brackets are translations. START ROSARY HERE - In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit… The Apostles' Creed I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen. [Volunteer Needed] [Yolanda Olson} English - First Reading Spanish-Primera lectura. A reading from the Book of Acts. 16:1-10 Lectura del libro de los Hechos. 16, 1-10 Paul reached also Derbe and Lystra where there was a disciple named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek. The brothers in Lystra and Iconium spoke highly of him, and Paul wanted him to come along with him. On account of the Jews of that region, Paul had him circumcised, for they all knew that his father was a Greek. As they traveled from city to city, they handed on to the people for observance the decisions reached by the Apostles and presbyters in Jerusalem. Day after day the churches grew stronger in faith and increased in number. They traveled through the Phrygian and Galatian territory because they had been prevented by the Holy Spirit from preaching the message in the province of Asia. When they came to Mysia, they tried to go on into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them, so they crossed through Mysia and came down to Troas. During the night Paul had a vision. A Macedonian stood before him and implored him with these words, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” When he had seen the vision, we sought passage to Macedonia at once, concluding that God had called us to proclaim the Good News to them. The Word of the Lord. Entonces atravesaron Misia y llegaron a Tróade. Palabra de Dios R: Te alabamos Señor [Volunteer Needed] R. Gospel John 15:18-21 Jesus said to his disciples: “If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do notbelong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you. Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.” III. Spiritual Reflection SPIRITUAL REFLECTIONS ON ST. PADRE PIO BY SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR The Concluding Prayer of St John Paul II to St Pio of Pietrelcina Padre Pio, teach us also, we pray, humility of heart, so that we may be among the humble to whom the Father in the Gospel promised to reveal the mysteries of His Kingdom. Obtain for us the eyes of faith that will help us recognize in the poor and suffering, the very face of Jesus. Support us in our hours of trouble and trial and, should we fall, let us experience the joy of the sacrament of forgiveness. Teach us tender devotion to Mary, mother of Jesus and our Mother. Accompany us on our earthly pilgrimage toward the blessed Homeland, where we too, hope to arrive to contemplate forever the Glory of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Next meeting – June 13, 2015 – 10 AM to 1 PM Please invite a friend. IV. CONFESSION Please exit the Chapel then form a line outside.
