Ways you can help your child do better on any test are…
On the morning of the test, make sure your child wakes up in plenty of
time. You don’t want your child to feel rushed.
Be sure to give your child a good breakfast. Studies show that students
who have eaten a good breakfast score much better on tests.
Many children already feel nervous before a test. Try not to do or say
things that will make your child feel any more nervous.
You will receive a copy of your child’s test scores from the school.
Test results can be hard for anyone to understand. If you have any
questions about your child’s scores, talk to the teacher.
Praise your child, even if he or she does not do well on the test.
Remind the child that everything takes practice.

Testing Tips for Students
Be sure you understand the directions.
Make sure you know what you are supposed to do before
answering a question.
Read each question twice before answering.
Before choosing an answer, read all of the answer choices twice.
If you have trouble answering a question, first look at the answer
choices that you know are wrong. Then choose your answer from
the answer choices that remain.
Many answer keys are on a separate piece of paper. Check the answer key from time to time to be sure you are filling it in correctly.
Don’t spend too much time on any hard questions. Wait until you
finish all of the easier questions. Then go back and work on the
hard questions.
Be sure you know how much time you have to take the test. If you
finish before time is up, go back and check your work.

Los resultados de la prueba pueden ser difíciles de comprender para
cualquier persona. Si tiene cualquier pregunta acerca de los puntos de
su niño, hable con el maestro.
