Annual Novena in Honor of St. Ann
The Parish of St. Brendan and St. Ann invites you
to join us for their novena to St. Ann at 7pm each
evening until Monday July 25th. The feast of St.
Ann will have a novena at 6pm and a 7pm Holy

Child Protection
Anyone who needs to report an alleged incident of
sexual abuse of a minor by a priest, deacon, religious
or lay person serving in the Archdiocese of New York

www.archny.org. In keeping with the Archdiocesan
policy regarding sexual abuse of minors, this
information is provided to ensure that our children
remain safe and secure.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION IS
OPEN
Children grades 1 to HS:
Registration and re-registration takes place from
Tuesday to Friday 11am to 6:30pm in the rectory.
(A)First time registrations: Baptismal certificates are
necessary for children already baptized, otherwise a
birth certificate.
(B)Re-registration: Please bring the applications,
filled out, distributed at the Parent-Teacher
Conference.
1 Child: $70, 2 children: $100, 3 children + $130
Adults: Those needing Baptism, Communion or
Confirmation are prepared though the RCIA
program. Registration takes place from Tuesday to
Friday 11am to 6:30pm in the rectory

Encourage is a Catholic Apostolate for those who
have family members with same sex attraction. A
new website has been created to help the faithful
who are searching for information about Encouage,
the church’s teachings on same sex attraction and
spiritual support: www.encourageny.com
Thy Will Be Done
The essential form of prayer is: “Thy will be
done.” By prayer, we share in the will divine,
but also, as Riviere profoundly notes, the will
divine weds ours. It comes home to us with its
light and its efficacy. We leave off being a
resistance to become a collaboration. There is a
point in Creation where God is freely,
willingly, and consciously accepted. We
conclude an agreement with what is best and
consequently with what is best for us as well.
By desiring good, we allow him on this point
to realize the best. We benefit by all the benign
cooperation which our appeal to God, our
direct movement towards God, permits us to
fix around us and to canalize. We constitute
the mighty kernel of a harmony: “as the
Creator, so the Conductor” (Saint Gregory); “as
it were, the great Symphony of an Ineffable
Composer” (Saint Augustine). Prayer is the
sovereign unfolding of our liberty. – Paul

Gracias por su continuo aporte hacia nuestra
parroquia. La colecta total llego a $3,149.00
La segunda colecta para ayudar a diferir el costo

Fiesta de Altagracia
Invitamos a toda nuestra comunidad parroquial a
pasar una linda tarde de convivencia que organiza
el comité Altagraciano con vistas a la fiesta del 21
de Enero del 2017.
Sera el día 31 de Enero de 12pm-6pm en la yarda
parroquial. Los esperamos. Ticket de comida para
adultos: $5.00, Niños: $3.00
“Prefiero el Paraíso”
Volvemos con las pilas recargadas para formar
nuestro coro infantil, los días lunes y martes de
5pm-7pm. También ensayamos danzas y
enseñamos a tocar guitara. El maestro Mariano
estará a cargo junto con nuestra hermana Margarita
Peña. Aceptan niños de 5 a 12 años de edad.
La Registración para la Educación Religiosa esta
abierta
Niños del grados 1 a Secundaria:
Hemos comenzado a registrar a los estudiantes para
la de educación religiosa; de martes a viernes, de
11am-6:30pm en la rectoría.
Certificados de bautismo son necesarios para los
niños ya bautizados, si no, certificado de
nacimiento.

Adultos: Las registraciones del RICA para los
adultos interesados en recibir los sacramentos de
Bautizo, Confirmación y Comunión, se realizan de

Novena de Santa Anna
La iglesia de San Brendan y Santa Ana te invita a su
novena a las 7pm hasta el 25. La fiesta de Santa
Ana es el 26 de Julio, con la novena a las 6pm y la
Santa misa a las 7pm.

Enséñanos a Orar
Miren, amigos, vivimos en una sociedad
postmoderna, materialista, tecnológica y
autosuficiente que, al comprobar que la ciencia y las
técnicas van solucionando casi todo, en la praxis ha
empezado a pensar que la oración es algo
desfasado, algo romántico e inútil, propio quizá de
una época más primitiva.
Y ahí están los datos evidentes de un entorno
alarmante distinto al descrito anteriormente.
Nuestros niños van creciendo en un clima de “no
oración”. La televisión omnipresente, los juegos
múltiples, la computadora, los horarios
encontrados y deshumanizantes, junto a la dejación
de una preocupación paterno/materna, que había
sido sagrada hasta ahora, y que se había
transmitido como algo de lo que no se podía
prescindir, han venido a sustituir a esas cosas que
hemos evocado más arriba.
Si, aquel discípulo dijo a Jesús: Señor, enséñanos a
orar. Y quizá era un “S.O.S.” y un reto. Una especie
de toque: Señor, el que Tú amas - es decir, el ser
humano de hoy, - está enfermo, ha dejado de
respirar. Porque la oración, amigos, -nos lo han
dicho muchas veces- es la respiración del alma. Por
lo tanto: Señor, ensénanos a orar.
