Parent Day - Saturday - October 12, 2013
Dear Cal State Northridge Parent,
We are happy to welcome you to California State University Northridge. During
the summer, the New Student Orientation program had the pleasure of welcoming and introducing your student to our University and the many resources and
programs it has to offer. Now, it’s your turn!
New Student Orientation is geared toward preparing new students for a successful transition to CSUN; however, part of that transition involves the encouragement and understanding of their family. Yes, you are part of the process that will
promote your students success!
You may be apprehensive about this huge change, but you can be sure that you
are sending your student to a campus that is dedicated to your student’s overall
success. Likewise, we are dedicated to orienting you to the campus community
and its student life. We have developed a Parent Day program designed to help
answer the questions and concerns that can surface during this challenging
transition.
We encourage you to play a key role in your student’s success here at Cal State
Northridge. To better help you with this integral task, our goal is to introduce
you to the opportunities and resources that have already been offered to your
student, thus making you a partner in your son or daughters collegiate experience. These resources can help ensure that your student’s college years are
enjoyable, productive, successful and unforgettable.
We want to make the transition to college as comfortable as possible for you
and your student. It is important to us that you feel comfortable and enthusiastic
about your student attending Cal State Northridge. As a result, Parent Day was
designed to provide information about various resources available to help your
student succeed at this fine University.
Your support and encouragement is needed now more than ever. Thank you for
investing your time with us. We are proud and eager to welcome you into the
CSUN family! Go Matadors!
