"Men do not cry". That is
the way we were educated, and it
is true that men do not cry.
Women do cry and are more
humane than men because they
can freely express their pain,
their repentance and their love,
because they tend to also cry for
joy. Blessed are those who mourn! (Mat. 5: 4).
Jesus wept, cried several times, for example
when he beheld the city of Jerusalem, his beloved
city, and saw her with his prophetic eyes totally
destroyed so that no stone was left upon (Lk 19: 41).
He wept with compassion for the pain of Martha and
Mary at the death of Lazarus, their brother (John 11,
35). He wept, perhaps, in Gethsemane on the night
of his agony when he said he was dead of grief (Mat.
26, 38).
Men have to learn to mourn.
"Water and tears are not lacking in the
Church: water baptism and the tears of penance,"
said Saint Ambrose of Milan referring to the
Sacrament of Reconciliation or Confession.
Sincere tears of repentance have as a result
the merciful forgiveness of our sins from God.
Peter denied Jesus three times before the
cock crowed. When he heard it he realized what he
had done and wept. He cried so much that he made
furrows on his cheeks, as a tradition says. He never
would forget his triple denial, but Jesus did and
named him pastor of his church. (Lk 22, 62).
Do not feel shame of mourn, even in this
world that says reprove tears in men, because God
loves our tears and rewarded with the consolation of
forgiveness.
Tears of repentance purify the soul like water
purifies our body.
Tears of repentance are the advance of other
tears; tears of joy regained friendship.
We still remember our catechism classes
when we were taught that a good confession must
be preceded by a genuine heartache. We have hurt
for hurting our neighbors and have hurt the one who
loves us more, God.
Children always remember the good example
of a father who knows how to be a man, be manly, to
adverse life circumstances, but always remember,
too, a dad who repents of the evil he has done,
because to repent it is necessary great courage.
Let us ask God, for that gift of tears.

LLORAR

“Los
hombres
no
lloran”, así nos educaron y si es
cierto que los hombres no
lloramos, no sabemos lo que
nos perdemos. Las mujeres sí
lloran y son más humanas que
nosotros los hombres porque
pueden expresar con libertad su
dolor, su arrepentimiento, hasta su amor, porque suelen
también llorar de alegría. ¡Bienaventuradas las que lloran!
(Mt 5, 4).
Jesús lloró, posiblemente porque no fue educado
a la mexicana, lloró varias veces, por ejemplo cuando
contempló la ciudad de Jerusalén, su ciudad amada, y la
vio con mirada de profeta destruida de tal modo que no
quedó piedra sobre piedra (Lc 19, 41). Lloró compadecido
del dolor de Marta y María ante la muerte de Lázaro, su
hermano (Jn 11, 35). Lloró, tal vez, en Getsemaní en la
noche de su agonía cuando expresó que estaba muerto
de tristeza (Mt 26, 38).
Nosotros los hombres tendríamos que aprender a
llorar.
“Agua y lágrimas no faltan en la Iglesia: el agua
del bautismo y las lágrimas de la penitencia”, decía san
Ambrosio de Milán refiriéndose al sacramento de la
Reconciliación o Confesión.
Las sinceras lágrimas del arrepentimiento tienen
como fruto el perdón misericordioso de nuestros pecados
de parte de Dios.
San Pedro negó tres veces a Jesús antes de que
cantara el gallo. Cuando lo escuchó se dio cuenta de lo
que acababa de hacer y lloró. Lloró tanto que se le
hicieron surcos en las mejillas, según cuenta una tradición.
Jamás olvidaría su triple negación, aunque Jesús sí la
olvidó y lo nombró pastor de su Iglesia. (Lc 22, 62).
No nos dé pena llorar, aún en este mundo que
dice reprobar las lágrimas en los hombres, porque a Dios
le gustan nuestras lágrimas y las premia con el consuelo
del perdón.
Las lágrimas de arrepentimiento purifican el alma
como el agua purifica nuestro cuerpo.
Las lágrimas de arrepentimiento son el anticipo de
otras lágrimas; las lágrimas de alegría por la amistad
recobrada.
Todavía recordamos nuestras clases de
catecismo cuando nos enseñaron que una buena
confesión debe ser precedida por un auténtico dolor del
corazón. Nos duele haber lastimado a nuestro prójimo y
nos duele haber lastimado al que más nos ama, a Dios.
Los hijos recordarán siempre el buen ejemplo de
un papá que sabe ser hombre, ser viril, ante las
circunstancias adversas de la vida, pero recordarán
siempre, también, a un papá que se arrepiente del mal
que ha hecho, porque para arrepentirse es necesario un
gran valor.
Pidámosle a Dios, nosotros los hombres, ese don
de lágrimas del que gozan tanto las mujeres.
MISSION OF GUADALUPE
The Guadalupe Mission is taking place in
Our Community Parish, including Bridgeport
and Lee Vining.
Each week a new family will take with them
the Pilgrim Image of the Virgin of Guadalupe
and take it home, where all the neighbors will
be invited to participate in the Rosary and
taught the subjects of evangelization for a few
missionaries to accompany the family during
the week. On Friday’s, Father Jorge will
celebrate Mass in that house and there will be
fellowship. This family will deliver the image to
a new family. It will be accompanied during the
week by other missionaries.
If you want to receive the Pilgrim image of
the Virgin of Guadalupe in your house, please
give your details to Ms. Marisela Ayala at (760) 914-0575 or
give your information to Father Jorge.

La Misión Guadalupana se está llevando a
cabo en Nuestra Comunidad Parroquial, incluyendo
Bridgeport y Lee Vining.
Cada semana una nueva Familia recogerá el
Cuadro de la Virgen Peregrina y la llevará a su casa
donde todos los vecinos serán invitados para que
participen del Santo Rosario y de los temas de
Evangelización impartidos por un par de Misioneros
que acompañarán a la Familia durante la Semana.
Los Viernes, El Padre Jorge celebrará la Santa Misa
en esa casa y habrá convivio. Esta Familia entregará
la Imagen a otra nueva Familia que será
acompañada durante la semana por otros
misioneros.
