Our Faith…Our Hope…Our Future
2015 Capital Campaign
We have reached a crucial stage of Our Faith…Our Hope…Our Future capital campaign. It will take the generous effort
of all members of St. Stephen Parish to reach the goal needed to renovate our church basement and build a new St.
Stephen School. Volunteers are now in the process of contacting as many families in the parish as possible. Please take
the time to review the campaign material that was mailed to you and carefully consider what your five-year pledge will
be. Sacrificial giving is the key!! Study the budgeted giving chart in the campaign brochure and don’t give until it hurts –
give until it feels good. Remember, you can never be more generous than your Father in heaven. He will reward you
abundantly for your generosity.
USING GOD’S GIFTS
How are you using the gifts God has put in your hands?
There is an old legend from centuries ago concerning Chinese peasants who had a bumper crop of potatoes. They kept the
largest to eat and saved the smallest for the following year’s crop. For several seasons, they kept at this and eventually
ended up with potatoes the size of marbles. They had husbanded the best for themselves. They should have been planting
some of the large ones or maybe even given them away.
God has entrusted you with many gifts. It is your responsibility to “hold in trust” and to use the talents and possessions
which God has lent you. He holds you accountable for careful management of all you have. Those things are to be used
according to the divine Owner’s designs and plans.
A miser sees possessions as something to fondle and caress. He looks at them, but does not use them. But God intended
possessions to be used. He wants them to be used for the physical, spiritual, educational, social and recreational needs of
people. Possibly, the biggest problem you face is how to divide the spending of “your” money between the spiritual and
material aspects of life. No matter how small your income, your task is divide it properly.
God works through people. He has made adequate provision for financing His work in the Church by putting the money
in your pockets through your wages and income.
God’s gifts are not yours to spend for your own gratification and personal ambition. To live for selfish interests is to deny
God’s plan for you. Wise management of God’s resources means a faithful division of your income between of your
spiritual and material needs.
First fruits, and a generous percentage of your income should be the expression of your partnership with God.

Campaña Capital 2015
Hemos llegado a un punto crítico en la campana Nuestra Fe...Nuestra Esperanza...Nuestro Futuro. Vamos a necesitar un
esfuerzo generoso de parte de todos los miembros de la Parroquia San Esteban par llegar a la meta necesaria para renovar
el sótano de la iglesia y construir una escuela nueva. Voluntarios están comenzando a establecer citas con todas las
familias posibles. Por favor tome tiempo leyendo los materiales de la campana que fue enviada a usted y considere lo que
puede contribuir sobre lo próximo 5 años. Dando con sacrificio es lo que tenemos que necesitamos hacer. Estudie el
cuadro de dar) en el libro de la campana y no de hasta que duele - de hasta que se siente bien. Acuérdese que usted nunca
va hacer más generoso que su Padre en el cielo. Pero El le dará recompensas abundantes por su generosidad.
USANDO LOS REGALOS DE DIOS
¿Como esta usando los regalos que Dios ha puesto en sus manos?
Hay un cuento del pasado sobre unos campesinos que sembraban papas. Comían las más grandes y guardaban las más
pequeñas para el año siguiente. Por muchas razones, continuar con esta tradición y luego tenían papas del tamaño de
canicas. Habían usado las mejores para ellos mismo. Deberían haber plantado las grandes o darlos a otros.
Dios nos confía con muchos regalos. Es nuestra responsabilidad de usar nuestros talentos y posesiones que Dios nos
prestó. El espera que seamos responsable con todo lo que tenemos. Estos deben ser usado de la manera y plan como
nuestro Dios Divino quisiera que sean usados.
Un tacaño mira a todo lo que tiene, pero no los usa. Pero Dios desea que posesiones sean usadas. El quiere que los use
físicamente, espiritualmente, educacionalmente, social y de recreo para las necesidades de la gente. Posiblemente, el
problema más grande es como vas a gastar “tu” dinero entre los espiritual y materiales de la vida. No importa que sea
poco su ingreso, tu tarea es de dividirlo apropiadamente.
Dios trabaja a por medio de personas. El a hecho provisiones adecuadas para financiar Su trabajo en la Iglesia poniendo
dinero en nuestro bolsillos a través su ingreso.
Los regalos de Dios no son para que los gastemos para nuestra gratificación o ambición personal.
Vivir para intereses egoístas es negar el plan de Dios. Dar justamente su ingresos entre necesidades espirituales y
materiales.
Las primeras frutas, dar un porcentaje generoso debe ser un expresión de ser junto con Dios.
