This Week in LGE History
The rain began on September 9, 2013. It rained continuously
through September 16. Boulder County received over 17 inches
of rain (normal rainfall is 12 inches per year). The floodwaters
flowed directly to Fort Lupton, Rinn Valley, and Carbon Valley.
To say that LGE employees were tested to the maximum is
an understatement. They rose to the challenge! All three
production plants survived, and Fort Lupton and Rinn Valley
were able to safely start production the following week.

Sutherland’s Labor Day Celebration
Over the Labor Day weekend, Paul Burch
showed off a new LGE over-the-road truck
in the Sutherland, Iowa, town parade.
Sutherland is about 10 miles north of our
Larrabee location. Paul was joined by his two
grandchildren, Tucker and Cooper.
Sutherland hosts a three-day Labor Day
celebration every year. It’s a tradition that
began in 1934, and except for a hiatus during
the war years, 2017 will mark its 75th year.
Children’s games, horseshoe and volleyball
tournaments, musical entertainment, and lots
of food were all part of the festivities that took
place at city park.

In August, LGE hosted an employee and
customer appreciation BBQ at our Larrabee
location.
We are honored to be able to thank our valued
employees, customers, neighbors, and friends
who have contributed to LGE’s success. Our
140th anniversary celebrations and taking part
in community events are good examples of
what being a good neighbor is all about.

Esta Semana en la Historia LGE
La lluvia comenzó el 9 de septiembre de 2013. Llovió
continuamente a través de 16 de septiembre del Condado de
Boulder recibido más de 17 pulgadas de lluvia (lluvia normal
es de 12 pulgadas por año). Las aguas fluían directamente
a Fort Lupton, Rinn Valle y Valle de carbono. Decir que los
empleados LGE se pusieron a prueba al máximo es un eufemismo.
Ellos estuvieron a la altura! Las tres plantas de producción
sobrevivieron, y Fort Lupton Rinn y Valle fueron capaces de iniciar
la producción de forma segura a la semana siguiente.

Celebración del Día del Trabajo de Sutherland
El fin de semana del Día del Trabajo, Paul Burch
mostró una nueva LGE over-the-road camión en el
Sutherland, Iowa, desfile de la ciudad. Sutherland
es cerca de 10 millas al norte de nuestra ubicación
Larrabee. Pablo fue acompañado por sus dos
nietos, Tucker y Cooper.
Sutherland alberga una de tres días de celebración
del Día del Trabajo cada año. Es una tradición
que comenzó en 1934, y con excepción de un
paréntesis durante los años de la guerra de 2017
marcará sus 75 años.
Juegos infantiles, herradura y voleibol torneos,
espectáculos musicales, y las porciones de comida
eran parte de las festividades que tuvieron lugar en
el parque de la ciudad.

controlador de volcado de lado.
En agosto, LGE organizó una barbacoa
reconocimiento de empleados y clientes en nuestra
ubicación Larrabee.
Estamos honrados de poder dar las gracias a
nuestros valiosos empleados, clientes, vecinos
y amigos que han contribuido al éxito de LGE.
Nuestras celebraciones 140 aniversario y la
participación en eventos de la comunidad son
buenos ejemplos de lo que significa ser un buen
vecino se trata.
