PBIS Team update: Aligned to our school matrix, our PBIS team and building is focusing on playground
behaviors and reducing the number of behavior incidents. We look forward to reporting an update on
reducing problematic behaviors and appreciate families’ reminders to our students with the proper expected
behaviors below.
Attendance Notifications
Please call the attendance line at 847 532-7520 by 8:00 a.m. any day your child is absent. In case of
extended absence, other arrangements can be made and you will not have to call in every day. Remember that
tardiness not only disrupts the start of your child’s day, but the start of his/her classmate’s day as well.
Please make every effort to have your child at school on time.
All other absences due to reasons not listed above are unexcused. A computer driven phone system will
initiate daily calls to the homes of students who were marked unexcused from class during the school day.
Parents/Guardians should update contact phone numbers regularly by contacting office. To prevent the
automated call, please notify our office of your student’s absence.
Sincerely,
Chris Columbaro

Dear Parents,
Flu season is upon us. You can help protect your family by following a few simple
steps.
The best way to prevent the flu is to get a flu shot! And remember the three Cs:
Cover your cough, clean your hands, and contain the illness by staying home
when you are sick. And you should stay at home for 24 hours once your fever is
gone.
If/when your child becomes ill with a fever of more than 100 degrees and has a
cough and/or sore throat, he or she has what is called an “influenza-like illness,”
or ILI. When you call to report that your child will be staying home, it is important
that you tell the school nurse this information. The nurse will be passing that
information along to the Health Department. For the purposes of this report,
personal information will not be sent to the Health Department. This, along with
information gathered from hospital emergency rooms and local testing
laboratories, provides a true picture of flu activity in your school and in the
community.
You can find more flu information including a weekly flu report by visiting the
Health Department’s Web site at www.kanehealth.com/flu.htm. You can also
keep up by finding us on Facebook or following us on Twitter.

Estimados Padres,
