Dear Parents,
We hope that your summer has been safe and happy. Hopefully your children have been reading and doing math to keep their skills
sharpened. I am very excited to see your children again and hear about their summer activities. We are busy making preparations for
the school year ahead, and we know that it will be a great year. I know you may have some questions, so I am providing you with
information to help ease us back into the swing of things.
Registration: Registration is open daily in the main office for K-8 students. For PreK, please call the office for information on registration
sites throughout the city. Space is limited, so if you know someone who needs to register for PreK, they should not hesitate to do so.
Room Assignments: We will have room assignments posted the week of August 25th. They will be posted on the glass doors on the
south and north ends. We will also have them posted throughout the first floor hall on Orientation day for your convenience.
Parent Orientation: We will be having a parent orientation on Friday, August 29th from 12:00-2:00. Teachers will be available in their
rooms to meet you and answer any last minute questions that you might have. This is also a great time to drop off your students’
supplies and have the students meet their teacher. For students it can really lessen the anxiety of the first day by having them meet
their teacher and see their new classroom beforehand. I encourage all of you to attend. We will be selling agendas and uniforms in the
gym, and will also have registration as well.
Uniforms: Don’t forget to have your children in uniform on the first day of school. K-5: Blue pants/shorts/skirts, White shirts or Corkery
T-shirts. 6-8: Khaki pants, long shorts, skirts, Corkery Middle School Polo or Corkery T-shirt.
Supplies: Supply lists are on the website and we have extra copies in the office. We will also have copies posted on the front doors as
well. Please stock up now while the prices are low. The prices on most supplies go up by 150% after September. Make sure you have
extra supplies at home to give to your children later in the year.
Attendance: ATTENDANCE COUNTS! Please have your children on time on Tuesday, September 2nd. School starts at 8:00 and
dismisses at 3:00.
Assistant Principal: Mr. De Santiago will no longer serve as the assistant principal at Corkery. He has recently accepted a position at
another school. I am currently interviewing candidates for the position and hope to hire a strong leader soon.
Family Orientation: Friday, August 29th, 12:00-2:00
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: Tuesday, September 2nd, 8:00 am.

Estimados padres,
Esperamos que su verano haya sido seguro y feliz. Esperemos que sus hijos han estado leyendo y haciendo matemáticas para
mantener sus habilidades afiladas. Estoy muy emocionada de ver a sus hijos de nuevo y escuchar acerca de sus actividades de
verano. Estamos ocupados haciendo los preparativos para el año escolar por delante, y sabemos que va a ser un gran año. Sé que
tienen algunas preguntas, así que le estoy proporcionando información para ayudar ponernos de nuevo en el ritmo de las cosas.
Inscripciones: Pueden inscribir sus hijos todos los días en la oficina principal. Para pre-kindergarten, por favor llame a la oficina para
obtener información sobre los lugares de registro en la ciudad. El espacio es limitado, así que si usted conoce a alguien que necesita
inscribirse en pre-kindergarten, no debe dudar en hacerlo.

Orientación para Padres: Vamos a tener una orientación para padres en Viernes, 29 de agosto de 12:00-2:00. Los maestros estarán
disponibles en sus salones para conocerlos y responder a cualquier pregunta que puedan tener. Este es también un buen momento
para dejar a los útiles de sus estudiantes y para conocer a sus maestros. Para los estudiantes realmente puede disminuir la ansiedad
del primer día a conocer a su maestro y ver su nuevo salón de antemano. Les animo a todos a asistir. Estaremos vendiendo agendas
y uniformes en el gimnasio, y también tendremos inscripciones.
Uniformes: No se olvide de tener a sus hijos en uniforme en el primer día de clases. K-5: pantalones / pantalones cortos / faldas
azules, camisas blancas o camisetas de Corkery. 6-8: pantalones/ pantalones cortos/ faldas largas de color caqui, Polo de Escuela
Media o camiseta de Corkery.
Útiles: Las listas de útiles están en la página de internet y tenemos copias adicionales en la oficina. También tendremos copias
publicadas en las puertas principales. Por favor compre los útiles ahora mientras que los precios son bajos. Los precios en la mayoría
de los útiles suben un 150% a partir de septiembre. Asegúrese de tener útiles adicionales en la casa para dar a sus hijos más tarde en
el año.
Asistencia: ¡ASISTENCIA CUENTA! Por favor tenga a sus hijos a tiempo el martes, 2 de septiembre. Las clases comienzan a las 8:00
y terminan a las 03:00
Asistante Director: El Senor Osvaldo DeSantiago, Asistente de la Directora ya no estará con nosotros. Acepto una nueva posición en
otra escuela como Asistente. Estamos entrevistando candidatos para esta posición, alguin que esperamos vaya ser un líder fuerte.
