“`One does not live on bread alone...`”Matthew 4:4
First Sunday of Lent — March 9, 2014 “‘One does not live on bread alone...’” Matthew 4:4 REFLECTION LENTEN SOUP SUPPER FLORAL MINISTRY REFLECCIÓN DOMINICAL On this first Sunday of our Lenten journey, God has invited us here to be strengthened in our resolve to change our hearts and our lives. We will hear stories of temptation and responses to temptation. How do they echo the stories of our own lives? As we hear God’s word and respond today in our celebration of the Eucharist, let us pray for the grace and strength to make the right choices, and for forgiveness and another chance when we fail. All are invited to share a simple soup supper this Friday, March 14 at 5:30 in PCMR1 (next to the gym). It will be followed by Stations of the Cross at 7:00. This will be a weekly event on Fridays of Lent, but please note that there will be no supper or stations on Friday, March 21, due to Confirmation Mass. It will resume the following week. We are looking for a person to take over as lead for the Floral Ministry. With the help of other floral ministry members, this person will coordinate floral décor in the church throughout the year, as well as the Christmas poinsettia and Easter lily projects. If interested, please contact the parish office at 447-2354. 12:15 MASS DURING LENT CONFIRMATION Throughout Lent there will be an additional Mass at 12:15 p.m., Monday through Friday in the chapel. Confirmation Mass will be held on Friday, March 21 at 6:30 with Bishop Weigand. Rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, March 19 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The sponsor or a parent proxy is required to attend. All Confirmandi and sponsors will meet in the Church Meeting Room on 3/21 at 5:00 p.m. for line-up. Any questions, please call the office or email Josephine.
