Lent is a time of penance, prayer, reflection and reconciliation. For 20 years the interdenominational St. Patrick’s Family Players have marked the Lenten and Easter seasons by performing the musical cantata “Resurrection.” From New England to California; from Ireland to Italy they have brought their musical performance and faith in the Resurrection not just to audiences in cathedrals and parish churches but to inmates in prison as well. Told from the perspective of St. Peter, a prisoner about to be martyred, we learn not only of the anguish he felt for his denial of Jesus but also of his repentance, forgiveness and reconciliation with Jesus. The performance by the cast of more than 45 performers ages 2 to 85 is guaranteed to speak to all of us, because Peter’s story of betrayal of the Lord followed by the promise of reconciliation is our story, too. th Please join us on Sunday, February 14 at 7:00 p.m. at th St. Ann’s Church (5300 10 St. N.) for this inspiring performance. The performance is free ... and eternally rewarding! Christian Stewardship: End of 2015 Tax-Deductible Donations If you: 1. Used Parish envelopes, you should have received a letter from St. Ann's in late January showing your 2015 contributions. 2. Used Faith Direct, you will receive a letter from them. Almighty God and Father, You have created all things and know the desire of every heart. In this Year of Mercy, we reflect on your great love for us, and acknowledge our sinfulness and need for your healing mercy. Trusting that you never tire of forgiving us, we open our hearts to receive your forgiveness and love. Having encountered you, Mercy itself, and guided by the Holy Spirit, may we witness to the love we have received by sharing it with those most in need: the hungry, the homeless, the afflicted, and the oppressed. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. ~ Archdiocese of Washington Prayer for the Year of Mercy Please Pray for Those in R.I.C.A. This Rite brings together people from around the diocese who are also preparing for initiation into the Catholic Church.
