2015June21 - St. Mary Catholic Church
Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time
June 21, 2015
In the midst of adversity, we need to trust in the saving presence of God who triumphs over the
waters of the sea. In the midst of distress, let us turn to the Lord with faith, to Him whom even the
wind and the sea obey. He died and rose for our sake that we might live and not perish.

Dear Parishioners of St. Mary,
As you know, I have been providing biographies of our staff so that you may get
to know them better. This week we are featuring Margaret Fleming.
Margaret and her husband, Darrin, (of 31 years) have been parishioners at St. Mary Parish for
the last 20 years. They have three children and five grandchildren. Margaret serves the parish
as Sacramental Registrar, Receptionist, and Lead Counter for the parish weekly donations. She
started as a volunteer counter in 2004 and became responsible for this service as a part time
employee in 2007. She was offered a full time position with expanded duties by Fr. Liam Cary
in 2011. In the Parish Office, Margaret is the first contact for most parishioners and non
parishioners who require such services as parish registry information and updates, and she
schedules appointments for the priests for whom she maintains their daily schedules. As
Sacramental Registrar she records all the sacraments and obtains sacramental documents as
needed. As Lead Counter, she is grateful for our parish volunteers who give so generously of
their time. She feels it is a blessing to be able to assist both the priests and the parish
community. We are blessed to have her here with us.
In Christ,
Fr. Ronald Nelson, Pastor

Church Attire
Now that warmer weather is on its way, it is time to remind
everyone to be aware of modest and appropriate dress
when attending Mass, serving in the sanctuary, or attending
a parish function. Parents, let’s set a good example of selfrespect for our youth by dressing appropriately and asking
them to do so as well. Dressing for Mass is simply a matter
of showing proper respect, not only for God, but for others
around you.
One should always wear clothes that are
modest.

Exposure to air pollution during pregnancy,
particularly during the first trimester, can shorten the gestation
period leading to preterm births; and can cause congenital
birth defects such as heart problems. It can also result in the

Catholic Community Services is launching its annual
Squeaky Clean Hygiene Drive during the month of June,
2015. Cleaning products for bodies and homes become
expensive when a family is living on a limited budget.
Donate to CCS today. Your donations of deodorant, soap,
razors, dental products, hygiene products, shampoo,
sunscreen, toilet paper, laundry soap, dish soap, household
cleaning products, facial tissue and diapers and baby wipes
will be distributed by Catholic Community Services to
homeless and low-income families free of charge at its
community service centers in Eugene and Springfield. A
collection barrel is located in the Parish Office where you can
bring your contributions during regular office hours. Please
look for James if you bring items on the weekend. Thank
you.

XII Domingo Ordinario
Marcos 4: 35–41
Como Dios Distibuye sus Dones (Parte
25)
