Conference Program - US Wheat Associates
2016
LATIN AMERICAN &
CARIBBEAN WHEAT
BUYERS CONFERENCE
The world’s most reliable choice.
BIENVENIDOS
¡Muchas gracias!
Muito obrigado!

WELCOME
On behalf of USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service, U.S. Wheat
Associates (USW), wheat commission members and wheat farmers
from across the United States, welcome to the 2016 Latin American and
Caribbean Wheat Buyers Conference.
In just a few weeks, the world’s athletes will be in Rio de Janeiro at the
Olympic Games striving for gold medal winning performances. We know
that operating profitably in the wheat foods industry today takes much
practice and skill, so we hope our performance here in Portland, and
every other day, helps you “go for the gold” in your home markets.
Even though consumer tastes are changing, prices are volatile and trade
policies are uncertain, we believe there is great opportunity ahead for
you to grow your business. And to help you perform at your peak, this
conference provides a unique opportunity to gain new insight and build
stronger relationships with reliable U.S. wheat industry partners.
We have provided plenty of time to discuss this information and the
challenges you face with us and with each other. It all takes place in a
setting that we hope provides a refreshing distance from your daily routine.
USW wishes to thank the organizations that helped make this
conference and the optional tours possible.
We also thank you, our valued customers, for your participation. You
inspire the entire U.S. wheat industry to be the best we can be.
¡Muchas gracias!
Muito obrigado!
